  1. I don't' do FB, but same to you and yours!
  2. You assume correctly, the Helix editor is alive and well. Line 6 is taking it serious and keeping it in full improvement mode with updates along with their Helix hardware.
  3. I found the same with Glenn's presets. The Fremen presets are much more sonically consistent, totally usable right out of the box. Tonal quality of both are excellent.
  4. Really liking the 175 pack, always good to compare what other ears hear. Especially love the tones on the "Rock" amps!! Moving all of those to my personal setlist. I am going to have to tweek around with the "Clean" amps, they're too squashed for me. I'm just getting started and still working through them all trying to spend more time on each one. Question for Fremen: on the presets using snapshots, why did you drop out the volume pedal on snapshots 2,3,4? I haven't tested all of them, but the ones I have only snapshot 1 allows volume control via the expression pedal. Easily fixed but is this by design? A Variax thing? Edit: For example, '4sn AC15' (excellent tone), snapshot 1 uses EXP1 and the volume pedal is turned on, but snapshots 2-4 all switch over to EXP2 and the volume pedal turns off.
  5. Agree that Line 6 should clear this up. Non official advice here, but I see no reason to use this driver with Sierra OS. This driver was a work around to earlier OS/USB communication issues. The core drivers in the last 2 versions of El Capitan and all of the versions of Sierra indicate that the Helix and my iMac are communicating properly. Again, my recording and playing is straight fwd - nothing fancy.
  6. When Snapshots became available, I broke down and bought Glenn's Snapshot Set to see how he was using that functionality. It was less than the cost of a lunch and I learned a few things much quicker than had I piddled around with it on my own. I was also curious how his patches would sound with my gear and playing style - which was about what I figured - significantly different from his YouTube videos. But it was worth it to me, and I wanted to chip into Glenn's efforts because I've learned so much from him over the years with various multiFX and modeling gear.
  7. Ownhammer quality is hard to beat and they sound sweet with the Helix amps. I've bought 3 packs so far to cover cleans and driven amps and have been liking the 'mixed mics' IRs best.
  8. Scott's video (above) was published prior to the full Helix app so it is now possible to dial the mid freq to 400Hz, but that is totally insignificant to my ears - just mentioning it. Also Ownhammer recommends that the Para EQ block be set after (post) the IR block, whereas Scott sets his before (pre). I've moved it to both sides and prefer it after, but that's a very subtle difference too.
  9. Not really my point, you see I want to be able to use the Helix App on my iMac to scroll through my IR libraries (thousands of IRs) and sample them within the preset without having to actually commit them. Once I find one I like for the preset I'm working on then I can drag that one into the Helix rack/floor unit (slots 1-128) to commit/save it. Sorry that I wasn't clear enough - Two Notes Wall of Sound III software is a working example of such a process.. YouTube it some time. Now your idea would dovetail nicely into the process. I think?
  10. I looked at the idea and it doesn't really address my concern - it seems more directed at the IR being portable with the preset. But it's still a good idea so I voted it up.
  11. Another amen to this. The stock cabs are really very good but it would be awesome to easily scroll through large libraries of 3rd Party IRs sitting in an IR folder on my iMac, sample them, grab them and save them in the patch on the Helix unit.
  12. Have not tried these yet, but the GDL patches I've purchased are not working as well as I would have hoped in my studio. No disrespect to Glenn, there are too many variables beyond his control to make everyone happy. But I was able to get a small set from Glenn for $9.99, so not all is lost - and I haven't fiddled with them much either - so there's that too.
  13. beautiful crunch tone, thx!
  14. Been playing, tweeking and recording (Logic Pro) all afternoon, no issues to report.
  15. was wondering too.. thx
  16. When Line6 released the driver there were some Mac latency issues and the driver fixed them, or mine anyway. However, soon after/about the same time of the Line 6 release, Apple came out with El Cap 10.11.4 and right after that 10.11.5 somewhere in the midst of all of this the core drivers from Apple started to work correctly.
  17. I'm running El Cap 10.11.5 without it. So far no issues. However my recording is pretty simple and straight fwd..
  18. Thanks ordered the 412 MAR-CB "LYNCH" IRs a few weeks ago, really great sound! Decent price too.
  19. Maybe, but I can't imagine that field being truncated like that. If so, they can to fix the table first. Also simple.
  20. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Resizable-Library-Window-in-Helix-Editor/823361-23508?submitted=1 SImple request - most third party IRs (like Ownhammer) have long titles which give pertinent information as to speaker types, speaker mixes, mic types, mic mixes, mic distances, etc. This information is not fully viewable in the limited width of the Library Window. Please give user the ability to stretch the window OR make it so it automatically resizes based on the file information.
  21. I recorded several tracks this morning running all 3 apps (Logic Pro X, Helix via USB, Helix Editor) and all seems to be fine. But just for the sake of simplicity, I decided to remove this driver and am now back to the core audio driver. Recorded a few more tracks, and so far so good.
