How many times can you accidentally ruin your Pod in one year?

He still gets mail here. We get his (numerous) traffic violations all the time. Karma -
are the Shiva and 5150 more over-powered than other amp models?

I noticed the Panama is pretty loud compared to others. Adjusting at the mixer stage is key. I use my POD for gigs/jamming and when you think you've got the right levels without the band there, you may be wrong. -
Hahaha awesome. One man band!

Lol Gearhead strikes again!

Yeah I wasn't a fan of the fizz. Then my pod broke and I went back to using my amp head for a while. Fizz was very present there as well.

Yes, I'm very sure now that at there is a wiring issue in my house. I've had two electrical-savvy people look at another part of my house and actually called an electrician friend of mine about it. They all say that there is a lot of wiring that doesn't make sense so I'm almost not surprised. Apparently the last guy to own the house was a bad contractor and did a lot of weird things to the place. The Pod can, and already has been replaced, but hopefully I can get some stuff off the hard drive from the crippled computer -
it might be the way my brain is wired, but if I had every one of every kind of effects pedal in the world in front of me, I think I would know which order will be going in for any given situation, & I base it's on that when I run into a problem like this when just the category is shown and not the specific effect.

Fvcking proper! I need me one of these

I'm going for a world record here (kidding) But I'm on my third HD500x now since April. They keep shorting out. First it was because of a USB port breaking and this morning, while plugging in a XLR cable into my pod, I shorted out the second pod and my computer at the same time. The XLR cable was plugged into a power amp (turned off) and my pod was on, and plugged into my computer via USB. As soon as I touched the cable to the device, it shut down both pod and computer. I've already replaced the pod, but my recording computer is toast. It's a sad, sad day.

how long since you last switched off your pod (world record attempt)

Even better, how long can you not turn it on for? -

When you say "running straight", I assume you're saying you haven't powered down the unit, right? Or are you calcuating all the times you've had it on and have had to actually turn it off? If paragraph one is true then you must have had to "power cycle" the device after any upgrades If paragraph two is true then it doesn't count. -
Run HD PRO X into AMP and use AMP SIM on second path

I'm assuming here that you want to use your amp as well as a FR speaker. I would maybe leave it in studio/direct and apply the 4cm to your amp. Path A: disable amp block and add FX loop block wherever you see fit Path B: whatever amp modeling you want and make sure your output goes to a FR speaker. I've never tried it but I'd imagine it would work something like that -
Where do you purchase your ladies? :D
-
I played through some massive KRK monitors at an EDM studio. Those things kick lollipop
-
Yeah that thing is beastly! No speakers? Or is this just a recording rig? Either way it looks fun
-
I do the same. I keep all the modeling on and try to make presets that work in both a PA setup and amp setup.
-
I'm not home anymore, but at this point I might as well just take a screenshot or upload my patch for you :p :D Nothing too drastic as far as the amp settings go but can't remember off the top of my head. the comp and screamer are pushing the amps, with the amps gains both under 50% You said you plug into an amps FX loop. Do you just go into the return and use the amps power amp or do you use the 4cm?
-
So far ive only been using post EQ on high gain metal tones. For most other genres I use the parameters available within the amp and cab settings. And since I had to replace my 500x I've lost all but the hi gain tone I use the most: I run a comp and a screamer before amps, and the amps are the PV with graphic EQ in path A, Big Bottom with 4 band EQ in path b and studio EQ after the mixer. Graphic: 80hz=-0.1, 220hz=-0.3, 440hz=+0.3, 1.1khz=-4.0, 2.2khz=-2.1 4 band: Lo=+0.3, Lmid=+3, Hmid=+3.5, Hi=0, shift=64% Studio: LoFq=75hz with gain at 0, HiFq=8000 with gain at -4, and final gain at 0 Theres also a lot I'm doing to the parameters within the amps themselves, and depending on the situation I might turn certain EQ effects off. I also have the global EQ on and cut the frequencies around where guitar speakers usually taper off I'm still very new at all this and things change for me. I recently just started using the studio EQ to cut some of the harshness, and now as I sit here with my pod and the studio EQ on, I don't really have too much need for the other EQ's. Go figure...

Lol, where's your rig at, chee? Here's my rig with the 4x12
-
One thing I've noticed is that there's always a work around to do certain things. Some call it counter intuitive, and some folks adapt. If you're going to return the entire thing because edit doesn't function like Windows, then go ahead and do so. I just find it silly.

I'll gladly keep the dust off of your G50 for ya!

You could even run into the auxiliary input in your car stereo system
-
Great advice above. I'd say run into the FX return instead of the input. You'd just be going through the power section of your amp and not through a second preamp (your Pod being the first preamp) to amplify yourself. That way your sound will b a little more consistent between different amps FX returns you plug into. I do this at jams that have a head/cab already there. I run studio/direct mode with full amp models and cabs on. Some would disagree with this method due to the models being skewed, but I'm not looking to realistically recreate any certain sound and things sound good. And yes, patches for live use need to be tweaked at the volume you intend to play at/around and with the full band. I had to buy a replacement 500x a few days before a gig and reprogram it from scratch without getting a chance to test it out in practice. My clean sounds at that gig were practically inaudible
