  1. Take a look at this topic. Several people have found solutions to halted upgrades here. Also, try the simple solution first, if your Updater dialog box is displaying an "OK" box just click it.
  2. May have already tried this but have you rebooted the computer? Maybe something funky is cached in RAM or swap. I would also temporarily detach any non-critical peripherals and make sure no other programs are running. If you have any exotic drivers installed you may want to try disabling them for the duration. Certain anti-virus programs have also been known to cause problems in the past as well, although unlikely it might be worth disabling them for long enough to get through the install. Also make sure no Helix devices are attached during the Line6 software install.
  3. Sounds to me like something in the physical layout of your equipment in those particular venues is causing your guitar's pickups and monitors to setup a feedback loop, no mics required although they could potentially be involved as well. I would definitely test with the mics muted if possible to see if they are involved. One thing worth trying would just be to reposition your monitors and see if that eliminates the feedback. Your typical setup may not work in those venues.
  4. Don't sweat it, Line6 will help you in or out of warranty. Don't think this this is going to be a hardware issue. Looks like you have tried several of the correct recovery steps. I don't see here specifically that you downloaded and installed the "HX Edit (version 2.80)" package. Perhaps you have but since that contains the driver, updater, and editor it is a better way to make sure you have them all synched up. As you indicated best to uninstall the Line6 software first at this point before reinstalling HX Edit 2.8. Once you start rolling back with separate versions of the updater and editor, etc. things have a good chance of going wonky. I would reboot the PC for good measure too. As always never have HX Edit and the Updater running at the same time as they interfere with each other's ability to recognize the Helix.
  5. Sounds like you have your globals set properly. I set mine up your way just to test and it seems to be working properly. The lit LED ring changes to the snapshot switch I depress and the snapshots seem to be changing appropriately. Probably aware of this already but just wanted to remind you that the blocks, routing, and preset name will stay the same in every snapshot as designed. It is only the bypass state of the blocks(dim or active) and parameter values that will change from one snapshot change to the next(as well as the camera icon and LED ring on the selected switch). In presets where the snapshots have not been set to be different from each other every snapshot will appear the same on the main screen without even blocks dimming as their bypass state is not being changed. If neither bypass states nor parameters are changing for you on snapshots where you have set them up to do so then you may have a problem with the upgrade. Probably not the case here but make sure you are testing on a preset where you know you had different snapshots setup properly before. Some people who don't have their global Retain/Discard settings set up properly don't realize that their snapshot changes were not saved once they left the snapshot or preset.
  6. Not sure I exactly understand what you are seeing but it sounds to me like you may also want to change the global settings for 'Footswitches' --> 'Preset Mode Switches' = "Preset/Stomp" for example or whatever it was set to before your upgrade.
  7. I can understand your not wanting to disconnect peripherals given your setup but adding them back in one at at time may help you and ultimately Line6 track down the problem and maybe work towards a fix. There is also the outside chance that doing so will automagically get everything working again. Your call though.
  8. I get what you're saying but it makes sense if the outputs your monitor was plugged into before the update were not controlled by the Volume knob. When the volume knob does not control a set of outputs those outputs default to full volume (as if the volume knob were at max). So, depending on how a preset is gain staged it may no longer be loud enough if it is now going by the Volume knob.
  9. +1 I was indeed, thanks for the assist lungho.
  10. Forgive me for this suggestion, you probably already tried it, but it might also be worth rebooting your PC as well as restarting the Helix. On rare occasions some people have had success using a different USB cable. Also, what file have you re-downloaded and installed? Have you done an uninstall prior to reinstalling? That can sometimes help as well. Unattaching any peripherals that might cause driver conflicts and making sure you don't have any other software running (especially the Updater) can help with troubleshooting too.
  11. You'll probably be just fine, I wouldn't get too concerned yet. Assuming you got backups initially, start by following some of the remedies in this thread. The first thing I might try is scrolling down past the "Flash Memory" file and "downloading the "HX Edit (version 2.8)" file instead, install it, and then restart the Updater and follow the update instructions.
  12. Have you exited the Updater? Try changing USB ports if possible. Did you download the "HX Edit version 2.8" file. Might be worth downloading and reinstalling this. This will reinstall the drivers as well.
  13. Not sure exactly where in the process things stopped for you. If you have an "OK" button showing in the Updater dialog box, click it and the upgrade process may just pick up automatically. Good luck with this!
  14. Did you hit the "OK" in the Updater dialog. My upgrade continued normally after doing that. If that does not work try some of the remedies in this thread.
  15. If all else fails if you did a "Create Backup" before your upgrade you can try doing a "Restore Backup" using the method I posted in the link below. I would do a new "Create Backup" as well as backing up your individual setlists before embarking on this method. When you restore though you will be using the backup you made previous to the upgrade that included your setlist that is now not loading.
  16. If you haven't tried the remedies above yet with different USB ports or a different computer and cables I would try that first. If not call or open up a ticket with Line6. I am about 99.9% sure you don't have a boat anchor and they will be able to get you back on track.
  17. If you have not done an update before it doesn't hurt to go to File --> About in the HX Edit menu when you are done and check to make sure that the firmware and HX Edit version are matched. The firmware version is in the top bar and the HX Edit version is down below. In this case they should both indicate 2.80.
  18. The steps detailed in the post above replace step 5a in the official Line6 update instructions and will save you some setlist shuffling but.... proceed with caution or just be safe and follow Line6's instructions, however this does work. I would recommend this for experienced users only. Otherwise you are probably best served just following the Line6 instructions provided (proceed at your own risk, I assume no liability, grin, this is just a heads up that the old method seems to work). Just wanted to confirm for those who have been through former updates, are fairly computer literate, or particularly intrepid, that this method of restoring your user setlists after having updated to the newest Factory and Template setlists(step 4 in the upgrade directions) does work in the new 2.80 software. Make sure you do an additional "Create Backup" after getting your software up to the 2.80 software and before executing step 4. The steps detailed in the post above replace step 5a in the official Line6 update instructions, proceed with caution.
  19. Bug report Firmware: 2.80 HX Edit: 2.80 Device: Helix Floor Bug: Minor bug but after upgrading to 2.80 and restoring my user setlists, one of my user setlists that used every character available for the name now does not display the last character in the setlist name. This persists even after editing the setlist name on the Helix Floor. At least in my case this applies to all setlist names. If you use all of the available characters for a setlist name the final character will not display on the Helix after you "Save". The full setlist name displayed without issue in the prior firmware versions.
  20. Tip: For anyone executing Step 4 from the install instructions to load up the new Factory and Template setlists make sure to do a fresh set of backups with your newly upgraded 2.80 firmware and HX Edit 2.80. I did a "Create Backup" as well as backing up all my setlists separately. This backup is specified in the first line of the instructions for Step 4 but could confuse people as it refers to step 1a (you already probably did that). Just want to make sure everyone does a second batch of backups here to be thorough.
  21. Can only speak for myself (Windows 10, Helix Floor) but my update just completed seamlessly with absolutely zero deviation from the instructions provided by Line6. Bravo Line6, awesome!
  22. Ran perfectly for me exactly according to the instructions with absolutely no deviations required on Windows 10.
  23. I am using Windows 10 and the Helix Floor and I did not have to restart the Updater. I just hit the "OK" dialog button when it froze (as Line6 said it would) and the update proceeded with no issues. It is rebuilding the presets as we speak. At least for me the update ran exactly according to the Line6 update instructions.
