  1. Pretty certain it's global, but you can always put a gain block first in the chain, and turn it up or down or bypass it per preset.
  2. Pretty certain there's no way to do that on the unit itself. Using the editor, I'd just copy the name you wanted to keep first, overwrite it with the new preset, then paste the name back in. FWIW, or can't think offhand of any software or device that has that feature. Typically part of what you want to save when you save a preset is the name.
  3. Add an external midi footswitch. Gets really wide though, the two of them together.
  4. Today is more or less the day I have to decide whether to buy extended coverage from Line 6 or not. I'm not gigging these days, so I don't think I need instant replacement, but I do use it almost every day, and would very much like to avoid expensive repair bills. I had pretty much decided to get the Line 6 warranty, but I just realized that I bought my Helix new from Sweetwater, who have their own free 2 year warranty, so I'm less certain. The Line 6 one still has advantages... - Can be extended further later if I want - Covers shipping both ways - Chances are excellent that Sweetwater would have to ship a complex digital thing like this back to Line 6 to get it fixed anyway, so the direct factory warranty is likely to be significantly quicker door to door. How are other folks who bought from Sweetwater thinking about this? Free one or paid extension?
  5. Yes, others have reported that 2.54 broke external tuner out. There's a thread about it.
  6. Regardless of the implementation under the hood, I agree that this behavior is pretty annoying, and this isn't the first thread about it either. Reminds me of "you have to reload all your patches after an update", which they did eventually fix after lots of user feedback.
  7. Not familiar with those other pedals, but you should add any of them you think make sense to Ideascale, get them voted on.
  8. OK thanks, didn't know that. I just liked some of the tones I've heard, and generally respect Mesa. In view of this info, I've added a link to your comment, and downvoted my own idea. I'd withdraw it if I knew how.
  9. Ah, makes sense. Can you drag presets over too, instead of exporting/importing?
  10. Apologies if this has been asked before, couldn't find it. Think I might have even asked it myself, but still... It looks like Native doesn't import full backups. If that's the case, is there another clean and simple way to get IRs from your Helix hardware into Native, or are we back to manually numbering, exporting and importing them?
  11. I've heard youtube demos of this pedal with various amps and amp sims, sounds great, would love it in Helix. Just submitted this on Ideascale, please vote it up if you agree it's cool: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea/925631 Here's one example:
  12. Just to say it, you say have the option of adding a second amp for clean, if you have enough DSP left.
  13. You guys are reporting exactly opposite results. Must be there's a difference in software or firmware versions, or you're not doing the exact same actions. Are you both doing this on the hardware or with the editor? FWIW, if it is real, I can't imagine it's by design. An oversight maybe.

    There's a 2.54?

I like *never* run the updater unless I have reason to, which is when I know there's an update, which I usually know because of announcement here, which there wasn't. Weird. Looks like it's about bug fixes, cool that those issues are being addressed.

    There's a 2.54?

I see talk of it, but how did anyone know about it? Am I just thick?

Thanks for that, will check it out. Do I understand right that it's not made from an actual CelestionPlus CL 80? I don't remember them using that mic, but I could be wrong. Do you know where hte original IR came from if not them?
  18. Actually, my *guess* is that yes, the default settings for the deep controls, which aren't always 5/10, reflect each actual amp, or maybe a version of it that the Line 6 amp designer dug. At the very least, they're a reasonable starting point of you want to ignore them. OTOH, maybe a fairly decked-out modeler like Helix isn't where you want the be if you actively dislike options. No shame in that at all.
  19. To me the biggest minus of this software vs previous is that it used to take you to the first unread msg in a thread when you clicked into it, or if not, there was as link to go there. That functionality seems to just not exist any more, which is a real shame. Having to manually locate where you were in a multi-page thread is a drag. I hope it's just a matter of turning that feature on, which will get done soon :)

    Stomp Box mode

Is this an LT by any chance? Don't have one, but maybe it doesn't have that option?
  21. Suppose it's possible they're lying slime, but why would they bother, they could have just not said whether the IRs were new? OTOH, they could have used the opportunity to apply specific third party EQ, even outboard hardware, to make things just like they wanted. You don't have to be "tone match"-ing(tm, not) to make use of those techniques.
  22. Forgot to mention, use the volume control on your guitar! With the recent amps especially, there's a whole range of great tones to be had just by going from nearly off to full tilt, amps react beautifully. Wonderful stuff, props all around.
  23. Happened again this morning, joyful playing time. Two hours just doin the thing. One patch, no snaps even, just Placator and a footswitch to Texas. Some drives are there, turned em on some to check out those vibes again, but most of the time, just one or the other amp, a touch of verb, touch of delay, and Happy. Kind of made peace with my bridge pickup even, which hasn't happened in a while. This is the Good Stuff folks. Truly digging Helix's wares these days. Thank you Ben and Line 6 in general, nice work :)
  24. Not sure, but I have to say, I'm just having a flat-out blast playing my Helix these days. Placator, Texas, and some older amps too, are just remarkable, really. Such a variety of tones within the same amp, great feel, love it. Big Fun, if you ask me.
