  1. Meanwhile, back at Line 6 HQ.......
  2. The Helix looper is pretty basic as far as its functionality goes. If you are looking at investing in hardware to control the looper, you might find your money better spent on a dedicated looper with more functionality. Given your hurdles, a looper that you can arm and have automatically start when you start playing, and overdubs that you can arm and have automatically start when the primary loop repeats, would be most useful. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  3. I’m using Logic Pro X, and I’m sure I’m probably using it to about 1% of its potential. That sounds like a handy function, I’ll dig into it. Thanks!
  4. The KoT and ZenDrive were the big draw for me too, and I am very excited for them, but honestly the recent chatter about the DAW control functionality has me REALLY excited. My computer (a 10 year old iMac) generates a ton of EM noise, so when I am recording I have to be a few feet away and facing 90 degrees off to avoid it. I generally require about 8000 takes to get something down, so thats a lot of hit-the record-button-run-to-my-spot-start-playing-screw-up-go-back-stop-delete-return-to-zero-repeat cycles. The ability to stop/delete/return-to-zero/start from Helix is a potential game changer for me. I have some questions about how the functionality is accessed, as I have most of my footswitches already assigned, but I'm sure I can find a way to accommodate it.
  5. I run 2 PC+ cabs in stereo, and it is pretty wonderful. Previously I ran an Atomic CLR cabinet mono and it was pretty great too.
  6. As I said back on.... (sound of webpages being shuffled around)... page 3 of this thread, I e-mailed Line 6 asking that they hold off on release until I get home from my work travels. I’ll be home Thursday, so brace yourself!
  7. I used to work with a guy who put orange juice in his coffee. He was banished from the control room.
  8. I’m not at my Helix presently so bear with me, but if you select the block in question and go into the settings menu, you’ll find an option called “Bypass Assign” or something similar. Go in there and change the assignment to “none”.
  9. Heck, I want to go the other way. I’m your customer for the 18 switch 3 SHARC version with 6 FX Loops....
  10. It’s also the ACTUAL translation of the heiroglyphs on the coverstone that Daniel Jackson translated in order to discover the purpose of the Stargate. #knowligd
  11. UND KEINE EIER!!! Oh wait.... yeah, just read it again, one then? Ok. UND EINE EIER!!!
  12. When I was a teenager, mid-90s timeframe, my dad showed me his copy of Big Bambu with the huge rolling paper still intact. Such a perfect gimmick. While I don’t indulge to full-on Hipster levels, a thing I like about the resurgence of vinyl as a medium for music is the return to having something physical to connect with what you are listening to. Even CDs and tapes had the book in the case, but there is something lost to streaming and downloading everything. It is a far more immersive experience to physically put the music in/on the player and sit down with what is essentially an extension of the artists creation in your hands. Sorry, I’m rambling, it’s late.... /tangent

    overkill?

Looks like a fine set up to me.
  14. It isn’t my place to speak for anyone else, but suffice to say that the contents and timing of the 2.8 release are, uh, controversial around here lately.....
  15. C’mon fellas, The Cooler is eyeballing ya....
  16. I’ve been using MixIR from RedWirez to combine multiple IR files into a single compound IR file. It works great! Right now I am running a 3-IR combination consisting of the 3 Sigma Blues Deluxe 1x12, Twin Reverb 2x12 and Blues Deville 4x10. One IR block. Really digging how it sounds with the Helix Deluxe Reverb. There are other options for combining IRs, there was a discussion on the topic here:
  17. I'm heading out of town for a couple of weeks and sent an e-mail to Line 6 asking that they hold off on the 2.8 release until I get back. I hope you guys don't mind.
  18. Thanks for taking the time to post that.
  19. Not either/or, but in-addition-to.
  20. Whether you are playing a Helix or a tube amp, always have a backup for the big show....
  21. Congratulations on the new fiddles! Got any pictures? When you find yourself torn on whether or not you should buy a new guitar, remember that the appropriate number of guitars for you to own can always be determined by the formula (X + 1) where “X” equals the number of guitars that you currently own. Update the value of “X” as often as necessary.
  22. Or to be able to switch one (or more) device parameter(s) around between several settings...
