  1. If the price is compelling grab 'em. You can always sell them if you don't find they work for you.
  2. mguit's points are well suggested. I get it and would love to see them implemented on the Helix, but it may be a long time coming.... These sorts of features have been around for decades in word processing and other programs implemented by Macros, master linked (referenced or relative) macros, and a variety of Text formatting, Header formatting. It certainly is not brain surgery nor rocket sceince. The concept lends itself well to code encapuslated text file formats such as the Presets. The predominant obstacle may be issues regarding reallocating programming resources, away from developments, improvements and additions to Helix's core Amp, Cab, FX, Reverbs, Delays, and UI, as well as the the overhaul of Helix Editor and the new Helix Native.
  3. It was Frank's response to an ongoing conversation in the massively active all things Helix Thread on TGP. You should monitor that thread too, as there is always good info being discussed and exchanged there. I would be quite surprised that once the doc/bulletin is released it is not also posted here on Line 6's site. Where it will appear (Forums, Knowledgebase, etc.) remains to be seen.
  4. Frank Ritchotte, Sr. Director Of Operations, Line 6 Inc, posted last Monday on TheGearPage.net that a doc/bulletin is expected next week, or so, regarding the proper procedure to service and adjust the Helix Floor expression pedal. See: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/23727752/
  5. Will be interesting to see if these are no longer issues once 2.20 arrives and your Presets are properly imported into 2.20.
  6. These Line 6 Helix User Support Forums are one of the best!
  7. That's a valid method. You may also reconfigure how the Main Volume Knob works via Global Settings. In Global Settings I/O you may also set each of the FX Loop Sends to Line or Instrument Level.
  8. An interesting trend: 1.06.5 released - TUE, Feb 16, 16 1.10.0 released - TUE, Mar 29, 16 1.12.0 released - WED, May 11, 16 2.00.0 released - WED, Jul 6, 16 2.01.0 released - WED, Jul 20, 16 2.10.0 released - TUE, Nov 22, 16 2.11.0 released - MON, Dec 5, 16 2.12.0 released - MON, Jan 9, 17 Here's looking to the Mon, Tue, or Wed of next week or following....
  9. The vast majority of Guitar Amp Cab Speakers are designed with a dramaticly steep attenuation (roll off) above 4 or 5kHz. Connect a guitar amp's output (correctly) to an FRFR speaker (active or passive as the case may be) and it's gonna sound harsh and nasty too!
  10. Not sure what Editor version nor firmware Doug6String may be using, nor what Global Settings he may have changed to remedy the sound issues he had. Doug did not specifically mention Global EQ. The Global Settings on the Helix are comprised of several groupings and pages of parameters. As I don't use the Helix Editor, I don't know how many of the Global Settings (other than the Global EQ) may be accessible via the Editor software 1.10. The 1.10 Helix Editor is now just days shy of it's 1 year release anniversary: Mar 29, 16. The newly revamped Helix Editor UI (due for release this Spring) looks great! Not yet aware of the entire feature set it may provide. Once it arrives and the new Helix Native are available, I'll consider getting a Tablet or Laptop for Helix. Until then, it's Helix as a dedicated stand alone unit -- exactly what I bought it for.

    Input Pad

If you have room in the Signal Path, the most agile method would be inserting a Gain Block assigned to a fsw. Either, enabled or bypassed (for an approx 6db) Boost or Attenuation to counteract the Guitar In Pad setting.
  12. Glad you're getting outstanding tones! But, Shush!!!! Don't give L6 another reason to hold back 2.20. If it doesn't drop today, it won't (likely) drop on a Friday -- much less St. Patrick's Day --, so that would push it to next week (at the earliest). BTW, All 8 fw releases from 1.06.5 through 2.12 were released on a Mon, Tue or Wed.
  13. Doug6String, I see you OP mentions you created the Patch using the Helix Editor. On a PC or Mac? To the others whom responded that you too were occassionally encountering freezes, was this while using the Editor? Or, Helix in stand alone mode? If with the Editor, on PC or Mac?
  14. As the Helix Control lacks an on board expression pedal, would a connected external expression pedal provide parameter value adjustment?
  15. If you're a cyclist, this is a common size often found on many bike multi-tools. Also, if you have a Harbor Freight Tools nearby, they have these in sets and, I believe, individually with cushioned handles as a Hex Head driver.
  16. I also went with two Yamaha DXR10 for use with my Helix. They sound great, are compact and lightweight.
  17. The Helix Floor has another (4th) exceptionally useful Mode, known as Pedal Edit Mode! Press the Mode footswitch for 2 seconds. The Preset's first 10 Processing Blocks are displayed (one for each footswitch). Tap the corresponding footswitch to select a desired Block, (or the "More" footswitch to display additional Blocks). Then, tap the desired Parameter footswitch and use the Expression Pedal or [Value -] or [Value +] footswitches to edit. See the Helix 2.0 Owner's Manual (Rev D) PDF, Pgs. 12-13 for details.
  18. Not at my Helix right now. When you do as you depict, and you then select the Split branch point with the Joystick, what is the displayed default Mix value?
  19. All good with the various comments above. I'll add that I found a discernable difference between the sound of the Yamaha DXR10 vs. an Alto TS210A. The same goes for the DXR12 vs. Alto TS212A. In both instances, I preferred the Yamaha. Although the Altos are certainly attractively priced, I went with the DXR10. The DXR10's onboard Contour switch works wonders when positioned as a Wedge Monitor. Yes, it is more expensive, but it sounds great and is covered by Yamaha's 7 year warranty.
  20. Doug6String: Absolutely! Even reading your originating post of this thread enlightened me to the fact that Helix's Global Settings are not accessible via the Editor! Good to know, should I ever begin using Helix Editor. I specifically bought Helix for stand alone use, free from any computer (aside from updating firmware). I have found these User Support Forums a gold mine of information, and the massive thriving Helix thread on TheGearPage.net is also an exceptional treasure chest of informative!

    Helix case/bag

Both the Free Helix BackPack Promotions (December 2016 and March 2017) are handled via the participating vendor. See the Helix Free BackPack Promotion details on the Helix Products > Promotions portion of Line 6's websites. I do believe I saw that the promotion was subject to product availability.
  22. Also see these... http://line6.com/helix/blog.html/ http://line6.wikia.com/wiki/Line_6_Wikia http://dshowmusic.com/line-6-helix-amp-models/
  23. Here's a way to change theme..... / / / / / / / Helix Native -- Stand Alone version! Helix Native -- Stand Alone version! Helix Native -- Stand Alone version!
  24. If you're going to start a chant or form a drum circle ;), you might as well expand the horizon and ask for 3.0! :D
