  1. Also be sure to view this excellent: "How To Love Your Line 6 HELIX Stock Cabs" Video: https://youtu.be/I8Qrt-Q79U4 This is considered by many as an essential component of HELIX knowledge! The techniques presented in the video significantly improved my effective use of Helix's built-in cabs.
  2. Absolutely! And, can also do an exceptional job at lower SPLs. {Emphasis Added to quote above}
  3. kramer_nut, what case have you been using to store or transport your Helix?
  4. IR = Impulse Response. For anyone still wondering after reading the preceeding posts.

Much Appreciated! I'll give it a view and forward the link around to a few Helix users.

Great Shortcuts PDF! If this is avail on the Line 6 site (aside from the auto download text link here in this thread) where can it be found?
  7. Looking forward to seeing those site updates as soon as you make them available on the live site.
  8. It will be a Great Day, were Helix get this parameter! Mic Aim (directional orientation) would also be very useful.
  9. Happy to help. BTW, if you do not want the Transmitters to go astray, you can reinsert them back into the base unit, but only do so about 1/2 way. This will at least allow an at a glance ability to make sure they are each not missing, but will not resume any channel selection nor recharging. Also, as you have multiple G10 units, you may want to use a small piece of color gaffer's tape to mark each pair of Base and Transmitter, should you want to know which mates go together. The G10's transmitter batteries are good for about 8 hours of transmission use, and about 200 hours of standby use, so that is plenty for a weekend long of gigs for most. And, there is also an accessory USB charging cable that Line 6 introduced last October for about $15 that allows the G10 Transmitter to be recharged from any USB powered jack, and will not trigger any channel selection process.
  10. Yes, for the remaining three guitars -- one at a time. Each will retain it's independent channel. Only when the Transmitter were to be reseated back into the base unit would the channel selection process reoccur. Basically, you want to have each one able to detect any other active signals amongst the available 14 channels. This is why you want to proceed one at a time at each venue or location so any other devices (Relay units, Wi-Fi, etc.) operating in the same or an interfering frequency spectrum will be detected and that busy channel avoided during the channel selection process.
  11. Joe, did you inadvertantly down vote your own Idea submission? I see the current tally as minus 1.
  12. There is an IdeaScale submission to update Helix's firmware to allow Helix's D-Link jack output format to be selectable to support the Yamaha DXR Series FRFR Monitors' XLR Link system. As Yamaha now owns Line 6, this would broaden Helix's capability by allowing Yamaha DXR FRFR Monitor owners to also use the Helix D-Link jack. You may vote on that IdeaScale submission here.
  13. If this reasonable assumption is indeed correct, it sure would be nice for Line 6 to include a sentence or two mentioning it in the Helix User Manual. They could depict the auto-sensing feature as a benficial aspect, and offer the reassuring Tip that Phantom Power will not damage the Helix (just possibly degrade or attenuate the sound, and the suggestions that enabling the Ground Lift may help, and a DI or in-line XLR Phantom Power filter be used, if Phantom Power is present.
  14. Here's hoping you each get your Helix units back soon!
  15. If you cannot return and exchange the unit for another, the quickest step would be to install the latest firmware version 1.04. Check the top of the Line 6 Relay Forum for the thread which contains instructions and the link to download and install it. The latest firmware was released back in Sept 2016. It corrected a number of charging and sleep problems. Hopefully updating the firmware remedies what you are encountering. Also make sure the transmitter is fully seated in the receiver jack.
  16. It just won't sound as good. DI, Phil's quote is worthy of being a suggested use Tip in the next version of the Helix User Manual, so users are not otherwise concerned about damaging their Helix.
  17. Depending on how you have your room arranged and configured you may find it easiest to start with the DXR on the floor as a Wedge. If that doesn't suit your needs postionally, or you do not care for how full or bassy it may sound, the next steps would be to stand it on it's base, or slightly elevate it on an amp stand (if you might already have one) or temporarily put on a chair or stool to get an idea of how it will sound elevated slightly off the floor. Heck, you could even use it's shipping carton to get a rough idea. A Tripod legged Pole stand works fine, but their leg spread takes alot of floor space, and in a room your size, it may be overkill. Also elevating the speaker to ear level could cause it to be far too bright or edgy in a room that size.
  18. It's 2017! This sort of stuff should be part of User Configurable Preference Settings in the Helix Editor App! Let's see whether Line 6 addresses this when the newly overhauled Helix Editor is released later this Spring. Shredzilla1964, submit your idea on the IdeaScale site, so Helix Users can vote it up!
  19. Well done! DI should also use this as an example in whatever Tips and Tricks may be added to the future User Manual!
  20. HudsonHawk, put this on IdeaScale to be sure it gets on Line6's radar, and is also seen by more users! After you do, copy the link to your IdeaScale submission and post it here in this thread.
  21. Not sure either. Never asked the specific question at NAMM. It surely should be a welcome release! And, if it includes a comprehensive overhaul of the firmware Updating process, it could prove it's merit if it were to appear with fw 2.20. Let's hope to see the Helix Editor sooner than later....
  22. I concur that the idea a more flexible Pad system would be useful! Might not be in the cards for 2.20. There was no mention of it in the pre-release announcement of fw 2.20's features. Always possible that it could be a last minute inclusion, but I would doubt that, nor do I think something as useful would be buried under the General Stability Improvements catch-all phrase. If it is to be implimented, it may not be until a later fw release. I think I already saw and voted for a similar suggestion on IdeaScale. If you don't find it there, add your own and vote it up.
  23. DI, Do include your post above in the next Helix User Manual's Tips and Tricks.
