  1. There is an option to get both mags and models through the VDI interface. You must have that enabled. Try with the guitar cable and you won't get the mags. (unless you enabled that in WB HD).
  2. Then your mags are turned on also. The mags are hearing the actual string tones.
  3. I use AA NiMh batteries in my 500. Have for almost 10 years. Yes they are 10 years old! I get a solid 4 hours playing out of them. I have two sets and I keep both sets charged.
  4. The most basic 1 amp diode is 100V PIV. That is way more than enough!
  5. That is BS. You should not have to remove the battery when using the VDI. I never do. The Diode blows if you ever try to plug in the battery backwards. Specs on that diode should not be critical at all.
  6. Just tried a download from Customtone with my Windows 10 laptop. Worked fine. It went into the downloads folder - did not give me the option to re-direct it like my Windows 7 machine did.
  7. Just tried some downloads with my Win7 machine using Windows Explorer and it works perfectly. I downloaded several tones no problem.
  8. I think the stop goes on the top where the nut is that holds the model selector pot in place. You are missing the stop. It should have a detent for each model and it should not go beyond the end models in each direction.
  9. I have never had even a retry with this process but I always download the FW image to my PC first.
  10. Charge the battery fully and move the firmware image to your PC before doing the update. I have had trouble with updates with the firmware image over the internet.
  11. Workbench software is free - if you have the USB interface. This interface comes with every JTV and Standard when purchased new.
  12. The pots already serve a dual purpose so ganging them together isn't going to work. You will have to make room for both in your transplant.
  13. Those IEC sockets are very standard. You can get one from an electronics house like DigiKey, Mouser, Newark, etc for a couple bucks. Or find a dead PC power supply and steal one from that. If you can solder, you can replace it easily.
  14. That interface will work but that is the wrong cable. IT can't have a shell on the end that goes into the interface. Price is too steep to.
  15. Look on Fleabay, etc for a used one. There have to be a bunch of folks that have them and never use them.
  16. Try changing them more often or try different strings. I don't tend to break strings so I can't tell you what is causing it. Do make sure that the broken ends don't end up in where the board is. The 69 has that tendency and it can short out the board.
  17. My recommendation: don't buy the Heilx for the tuner :-) IT's there but it's not any better than a $10 tuner.
  18. There is a rectifier there too because Line6 used an AC supply for these. I have a couple of these - never use them though.
