  1. The touch feature isn't the same as actually clicking on the footswitches. It's there for the purposes of assigning blocks to footswitches and then quickly navigating to them after assignments are made. There are few other functions that can be done with the touch feature, well.

It's based on the Lightfoot Labs Goatkeeper: https://lightfootlabs.com/gk3/
  3. It's actually pretty darn difficult to clip the input of the Helix or the Stomp. The max input level is like +16dBu. That's higher than what a lot of devices are even capable of outputting. Whether or not you want to use the input pad (or set the input level to line level on the Stomp) has more to do with how the modeling reacts to the signal you're sending. Now, certainly, if you're sending a line level signal, you'd want to have the input set to line level. But as far as guitar, it's really what sounds best.
  4. A single XLR connection is going to just give you a single mono output. If you're just using the left XLR out, the stereo signal from the Helix will be summed to mono, and you'll lose any stereo separation. If you want to run a stereo signal into the board, you'll need to run two XLR cables - left and right - and have to channels on the mixer, panned accordingly.
  5. The snapshot that loads when you bring up a preset is the one that was active when you last saved the preset. So if you want to have the preset always load with a certain snapshot, just go to that snapshot and re-save the preset. There is no way to have the Helix remember a snapshot other than that.
  6. I know this doesn't answer your question, but just a reminder that if you buy any of the Helix or HX hardware - the Helix Floor, LT or Rack or the HX Effects or Stomp - you can get Helix Native for $99.
  7. Not just the Firehawk FX... I believe the pedals on the HD500 and 500X are essentially the same. Line 6 has been making boards with integral expression pedals for a long time, and, like you, I've rarely read of them failing. The issue with the LT pedals is that were two metal stamping machines out of a dozen+ that were stamping the housings incorrectly. So it's not a design issue, it was a production issue, and it was caught relatively early. It's just those early ones are interspersed in shipments all over the world. The reports of failed pedals have definitely slowed down, but they show up every now and then still. And, yes, there's a lifetime warranty for this specific issue.
  8. So it's just the actual name of the setlist that's changing, and everything in the setlist itself is OK? Can't you just manually change the setlist name after the fact? I mean I get that it's a bug, but it might be one of the most inconsequential bugs in the history of bugs...
  9. It's included in the Knowledge Base portion of this site. Here's the article where it's mentioned:
  10. The 8-controller limit only applies to footswitches, IIRC. You can assign up to 64 controllers to a single expression pedal, I believe. As far as the reasoning, I think Eric (Digital Igloo) said it was mainly because scrolling through more than eight assignments was clunky and tedious.
  11. I'm not sure I understand why the Looper wouldn't show up in the menu list. As far as it being greyed out, though, there are two reasons things are greyed out in menus. The first is there aren't enough DSP resources left on the processor path you're trying to put it on. Given that this is a Looper and it doesn't use much DSP, that seems somewhat unlikely, but it isn't outside the realm of possibilities. The other reason is there are limits to certain blocks. You can't have more than two cabs on one processor path, for instance. And you can't have more than one Looper block in a preset. So perhaps it's possible there was a Looper block in the preset you were trying to add one to and you just didn't see it. Anyway, some of the stuff you're explaining sounds like behavior that's out of the ordinary (pushing down on the rotary knob while on the signal flow page should always take you to the block menu, for instance).
  12. Hmm, It's never been an issue in any guitar I've used my G10 transmitter in... What type if guitar is it?
  13. Yes, it's pretty straightforward. Just set the switch on the back of the cab to stereo mode, and hook each amp up. You just have to make sure you're using an 8 Ohm output from the Orange amp and the mono output from the Vetta (output impedance isn't really an issue with the Vetta as it has a solid state power amp).
  14. Did your Helix come with the Cheat Sheet in the box? That should get you like 80% of the way there. When I got my Helix beta unit, I had no manual, and didn’t have the cheat sheet right away, and I was able to figure a lot of the functionality just by messing with it. I’ve also been using multi-fix units for 20 years, so I guess there’s some amount of shared vocabulary just because of that. I’m confused as to what you say about the Home button, because it should always take you back to the Home, Signal Flow screen. It won’t change the footswitch though. I also don’t necessarily agree that everything in regard to iPads or iPhones is self-discoverable. I’ve been using an iPhone for 8 years or so, and I still find myself heading to Google to figure out stuff every now and then. It’s not that documentation isn’t necessary, it’s just that Apple has essentially crowdsourced it.
  15. The HD500X doesn’t use Line 6 Updater. You need to use Line 6 Monkey to update it.
  16. The Matchless DC30 is a very Vox-like. It’s kind of designed to be something of a modern AC30, in a sense. So, you actually might want to try using that to match your AC30 tone. If you want a variation on a Fender-like tone, try the Lonestar Ch1 (Cali Texas) model.
  17. By "no longer works", what do you mean exactly? I double-checked, and even if I'm signed out, it still shows up for me. Here's what I see: Are you somewhere other than the US?
  18. The LT doesn't support external momentary switches connected to the EXP jack, so, yeah, if you want to have extra switches in Stomp Mode, you'd need to use a MIDI controller.
  19. They've asked people to report those sorts of issues here: https://line6.com/support/topic/20888-attention-g10-owners/
  20. It should still be available. I just looked ii up, and I still see it. The app is called MIDI Memo Recorder.
  21. Yeah, you'll have to change the setting for the times you're using it with the pedal plugged versus without, but that's not that big of a deal.
  22. Try going to Global Settings>Pedals and setting the polarity for whatever EXP jack you're using to Invert and see if that helps when the pedal isn't connected.

  24. Not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be hearing in that track... I guess I do hear some slight wooshing in the background, but that sort of stuff would never come through in a recording with other instruments. There's also all sorts of artifacts that happen in actual amps themselves.
