Preset up and down is kind of an odd command to have a MIDI CC for, but it could be added. It’s like @Kilrahi is saying - you’re using a MIDI controller that sends PCs, so you can conceivably always bring up any preset you want with the controller anyway. The Disaster Area Designs DMC.micro works like you’re wanting in Preset Mode or Device Mode.

I confirmed tonight that the receiver won’t pass audio from a transmitter if you have another transmitter charging in the dock.
-
You need to change the delay time parameter from milliseconds to a note value. On the unit itself, simply press the knob under that parameter, and you’ll see it switch. Delay time will now be synced with incoming MIDI clock.
-
I'm pretty sure that it's not, but I will have to double-check tonight. Line 6 does make this cable, though, if you need to charge another transmitter while the receiver is in use. https://www.amazon.com/Line-Relay-G10T-Stage-Studio/dp/B01LXXIR9M

Yeah, I was thinking of electric guitars. I've seen a number of acoustics with preamp systems that have XLR outs, but that's a different thing altogether. Those are designed to plug straight into a mixer or snake.

Have you tried the Archetype Lead (PRS Archon) or the Cartographer? Seems like if you're not getting what you want from one amp model, that's why they're a ton of other ones. Using a mid-boosting pedal in front of higher gain amp is also a time-tested way of fattening the mids.

That huge spike has to be the fundamental of the pitch he's playing... It's kind of an upper mid-focused tone to my ears, but anyway, I'm not sure why you couldn't use EQ to get what you're after? What amp models have you been focusing on, primarily?

They aren't compatible. The only Line 6 controller that works with the Helix Rack is the Helix Control.

I think it's one of those things that it's simply because it's the way it's always been been. It could be done, but there would be almost no benefit because all of the existing gear designed for an electric guitar to be plugged into has unbalanced inputs. The noise from pickups wouldn't go away with a balanced connection, anyway. You could have low impedance, passive pickups, but most guitarists wouldn't like that sound. So even with a high impedance, balanced signal you would have signal degradation issues. There's just not a compelling reason to do it.
-
Unbalanced... All the inputs are unbalanced except for the mic input on Floor and Rack. Plus I’ve never seen a guitar with a balanced output (some have stereo TRS outs, but that’s different).

I don't know that I've ever heard a Behringer speaker that didn't sound harsh... We unfortunately have the smaller version of those as monitors at our church, and, yeah, I would never consider those to be an accurate representation of my tone. They almost always sound harsh and thin. I can use them as monitors to hear myself, but they aren't anything like reference monitors.

How clean do you have your amp set? There's just a lot of moving parts... If everything else is working OK, I have to conclude that there's not some sort of flaw that would only affect the drives. The Klon can be pretty bright depending on where you have the tone set. Even at 5, it can be kind of bright. Actually, that's one of the main things I like about it. I tend to turn the treble down on my amps and use the Minotaur model to brighten them up. It just sounds more natural to me this way. One trick I've used for years with Fender amps is having a boost after any overdrives. I often use the Minotaur for this, too. I will set the gain to 0.2 and have the level at 6 or so. I just like the way this makes other drives sound. I have a Fender Princeton that I use a lot with my HX Effects, so that should be pretty similar to your amp, I suppose. Have you seen this?
-
Have you tried turning the gain down and the level up? Is the issue just that it doesn’t sound like the video or that you think there’s not enough drive overall? What happens when you try something the OCD model (Compulsive Drive)?
-
Something is not right... Even with the gain at 5, you should notice a lot of drive with a lot of those effects. Does your dry tone with everything off sound the way you’d expect through the HX Effects?

I guess he's not a "major" star, but the guy has millions and millions of view on his Youtube channel... Then, of course, there's 12 Foot Ninja... I think all the guitars on their last album were Helix... Sounds amazing to me.

Error using Firehawk FX for recording

In the first pulldown menu on that screen, you'd want to choose ASIO as the driver type, not MME/Direct X. -
I think the inputs on the HX Effects are rated for +20dBU or something like that, so it's actually pretty difficult to clip them. A lot of gear, especially if it's digital, can't actually output a signal that loud because it would clip its own converters first (the inputs on the Strymon pedals are rated at +8dBU, for comparison's sake). I've been using the Helix for almost four years (the HX and the Helix use the same A/D converters), and I've never run into a situation where I've been clipping the input. If I've ever run into clipping, it's always been happening somewhere else. The more likely thing than clipping the input is clipping the output, although, unless you have a ton of gain in your chain, that's even kind of hard. I'm not saying this means Line 6 shouldn't add meters. I would still like them. I'm just saying that if you aren't hearing clipping, you're good.

Yes, as long as you have the Trails parameter turned on, you’ll hear the decay from the reverb blocks after they’re turned off.
-
The new decay setting will start affecting the reverb trails as soon as you change snapshots. This is an instance where you’d be better off using two separate reverb blocks for each snapshot, I think.
-
If the noise you're talking about is a buzz or hum, that sounds different than the issue that was in this thread. That was mainly a white noise, hissing sort of sound. There's a pretty distinct difference. Not saying you don't have a legitimate issue, but I'm not sure it's this same thing... Is the noise you're hearing a 60-cycle hum type of noise or something else? As far as backing up patches, just create backup file in HX Edit. Go to File>Create Backup, and follow the prompts.
-
They do. You need to have the Trails parameter turned on in those blocks for it to happen, though.

In 4 Stomp/4 Snapshot view, the bottom four switches would be calling up Snapshots 1 - 4. The Instant Commands are commands that are sent out when a preset and/or snapshot is loaded. So in this instance, that CC command with the value that associated with each snapshot would be sent out whenever you load a snapshot. The footswitch icons only apply to Stomp switches in Stomp Mode, so whatever commands you assign to those footswitches will have no bearing on what happen in the 4 Stomp/4 Snapshot view. Regardless, I'm sorry it didn't work out. If you decide to change your mind, I'm glad to try to help however I can.
-
You actually don't need to assign anything to those footswitches if you're in Preset Mode have Preset Mode set 4 Stomps/4 Snapshots. Those four footswitches will be used to change snapshots.
-
No, there's no way to do that.
-
It doesn't matter which lighting bolt you use. All those commands get sent out when you change snapshots (they aren't associated with any Stomp footswitch). So it sounds like perhaps you have commands in more than one of them. It all comes down to this little note on page 47 of the manual: So that's why I said you only need one. The CC# number will stay the same, but you program the value you want sent out in each snapshot.
