They're pretty interactive, all things considered... Eric (who was the Helix product manager and is now the Chief Architect for the Yamaha Guitar Group) is pretty active on Facebook, The Gear Page and other forums (not so much here just because the traffic here pales in comparison to many of those other sites). The thing is, people generally don't read the manuals. I mean, there's a few that do, but most people it seems would rather ask the question on the Facebook group or somewhere else than look it up. Anyway, Line 6's policy is pretty to make a new manual when there's a new SKU released and then only update it for major number revisions. So there will a new one when the 3.0 update is released. The big hurdle is translating it into all the different languages. There's several dozen languages available for download.

The .dmg file is a Mac installation file. It sounds like you probably have a PC. Go back to the Download page and make sure you select whatever version of Windows you’re using in the leftmost pulldown menu. The installation file for Windows is an .exe file.

The Stomp doesn't have the EXT AMP jack like other Helix products. Even if it did, the 6506 has a DIN-style connector for channel control, so a simple 1/4" relay plug wouldn't be of much use. There may be ways to switch it using a third party device, a custom cable and MIDI.

I know you said it is, but did you double-check the Tempo Pitch is set to Transparent? I only say that because I've had it change back on its own to Authentic a few times after doing updates. Beyond that, I do kind of remember this coming up on the Facebook group as a bug.

If you click on the "SHOP" link at the top of this page, you'll be taken to the Line 6 Store. Click on the little man icon in the upper right corner of the screen to sign into your account if you aren't already signed in (it will be grey if you aren't signed in, red if you are). Once you're signed in, click on that icon again, and you'll see a menu come up. Click on the link that says "Purchase History". On the left hand of the screen, there will be another link that says "Helix Marketplace". The files you purchased will show up under this link.

That's the correct cable connections. What amp are you using? It seems like perhaps the amp's effects loop isn't turned on.

As noted above, there's a limit of 64 controllers per preset, and that includes snapshot controllers. Going much beyond that would negatively impact the switching time between presets from what I understand. I mean, realistically, how many parameters are you changing from one snapshot to another? I don't know if I've even hit double digits.

An official statement regarding what exactly?

Axe Edit works by using MIDI Sysex messages. The Helix won't pass those messages through.

Earlier you said the noise was gone when using the Stomp as the interface... Was your Stomp still connected to the Duet wen you made the first recording?
-
So are you still talking about recording through your Duet here?
-
Unnerving is such an odd word to describe what you're feeling while waiting for a firmware update... It's really not that big of a deal. It will happen in due course.
-
When you say the level knob, are you talking about the physical volume knob on the unit? That has no effect on the USB audio. Only the level in the preset will affect that. It sounds like you just have your presets created at a relatively low volume. Again, it's not really that big of a deal if the level going into your DAW is sort of low. With 24 bit digital audio, you really don't lose any fidelity by recording at lower levels. It actually gives you more flexibility while mixing. But if you want things louder, go to the output block, and increase the level parameter there. You can increase the preset volume by up to 20dB there. As far as the power supply, that's not really the issue. If it were grounded, it could actually be more problematic. The ground on a power supply isn't there for noise reason, but simply for safety issues. The Stomp falls below the threshold, load-wise, where a grounded power supply is required.

Have you tried using the little right angle adapter that came with the G10? That's just a TS to TS converter, but it might do the trick. Another thing you could do is just get a short TS male to TS female extender cable and run it up over the end of your strap.
-
The fact the signal low from the Stomp's USB output isn't necessarily a bad thing... How low is it? If you need to increase it, you can use the level parameter at the output block. If you're running the output from the Stomp through your Duet's preamp, it stands to reason that the recorded signal is going to be hotter. Your also going to be getting some amount of color from the preamps themselves. The signal from the Stomp's USB is going to be the pure, unaltered signal from the Stomp itself.

I mean, there's nothing special about the G10 plug - it's a standard 1/4" TRS plug. So if it's falling out, I would imagine that any other 1/4" plug could potentially have the same issue. Sometimes the little prongs in guitar jacks get bent back so they maintain enough tension on the plug. I had that happen on my one Strat, and I eventually just replaced the jack. It's pretty easy to do. Does the Musicman just have a standard mono jack?

Yes, I think it was added back when snapshots were added. Just hold both of the switches down for a few seconds, and you can scroll through their available functions - Bank, Preset, or Snapshot Up/Down.
-
You can do that with the Helix if you change the function of FS1 and FS7 to Snapshot Up and Down...
-
Hmmm... Honestly, that sounds more like a problem with that specific bass than the G10 itself. My G10 fits snugly in every jack I’ve plugged it into.

The reason companies use the 2.4 GHz part of the spectrum for things like wireless audio is that it’s one of the relatively few bands that they can operate in without having to worry about getting an FCC license, and it’s generally used for the same sort of things all over the world. As far as WiFi interference, it really does come down to being too close to a source most of the time. As long as you can have your receiver 10 feet away from a router, it shouldn’t be a issue. I’ve used my G10 and G10S all over the place, and I’ve not had any issues.

Well, the Boss MS-3 is quite a bit larger than the Stomp... It has five footswitches compared to the Stomp’s three. I had one for a little while. It made me want to pull my hair out programming it. Anyway, I think the Stomp isn’t primarily meant to be a rig replacement. You can do that, especially if you’re will to use external footswitches and/or MIDI controllers with it. Primarily, though, the Stomp is designed to live on a pedalboard with other pedals. It’s the ultimate wild card pedal in that it can basically be whatever you want it to be.

That error generally means the interface you have select in the Preferences menu in Reaper isn't connected.
-
No, it’s not possible.

Not sure really what the issue with 2.71 and some units... I’ve had 2.71 installed on my HX Effects for quite a long time now, and I’ve not had any issues.
