  1. Hard to say what happened, but the first thing I'd recommend checking is that the version of the firmware you're running matches the version of HX Edit you're using. Are you running the latest firmware?
  2. My Helix is over four years old, and I've not had any issues with it... As others have said, though, I'd be hesitant to buy any piece of electronic gear if I knew getting it serviced was going to be difficult or impossible.
  3. I can pretty much guarantee they aren't going to do that... The fact is that a lot of the newer amps that are modeled don't necessarily neatly fit into the 4 voicings that the DT offers. Roughly speaking, you can think of them like this: I - Fender 6L6 II - Marshall/Park KT88 III - Vox EL84 IV - Mesa 6L6 The vast majority of amps are Type A/B. The Vox AC30 and AC15 are probably the most common Class A amps. The new tweed models could possibly be considered Class A. I don't know that any of the HD amps used the Triode power setting by default. It's really not anything to get that worked up over. The whole point isn't really to have the "correct" power amp settings. It's to give you flexibility to have it sound like you want it. I find I often like the "wrong" settings better. For instance, the Deluxe Reverb sounds and feels better with the DT25 set to Class A to me.
  4. Not sure I'm following exactly, but if you connect an external pedal to the EXP2 jack, the on-board pedal will no longer toggle between EXP1 and EXP2. The on-board will always be EXP1 in that case.
  5. Yes, that's true. There's no changes in the actual modeling with this update. It's really just a way to make it accessible for people who were using it before but were locked out of it because of the way Pro Tools changed its plug-in implementation. Like DI said in the link above, it's the same thing they did with Echo Farm a few years ago.
  6. If you've never used Amp Farm, you probably don't want to buy this version. This version is really just an update that gives people who've been using it for years (it originally came out like 20 years ago) a way to still have access to it in their old sessions. As DI explains in this post, it's not really a release for the typical modeling customer. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/29087727/
  7. I don't know how hopeful I'd be about that... It might just be that these handful of presets are DOA. Have you considered deleting those three or four presets before updating? You could export them before doing that of course. It might at least tell you if those presets are actually causing the issue.
  8. There's a hot fix that specifically deals with this issue. Just install the 2.81.1 firmware.
  9. Make sure you have HX Edit closed.
  10. The 2.0 update doesn't apply to the Spider V 20. I'm not sure if there's a way to force the V20 into Update Mode. I would think you could reflash it with the 1.00 firmware to get it back up and running. If you're not having any luck, try opening a support ticket. They should be able to help you. Most likely it's not really bricked.
  11. There is no version 3.00 yet, so I’d double check what firmware you’re actually seeing. 1.81.1 is the latest firmware version for the LT.
  12. It actually has been open for quite awhile... They started it as a soft launch. Today is the official grand opening. I don't know if there's any additional content now than there was before.
  13. You can change IRs in the Powercab via snapshot. You just can't do it in Speaker Mode. So you have to assign the Mode parameter to the snapshot controller as well. In HX Edit, you have to right click on the word "Mode" (to the left of the Flat, Speaker, User IR tabs). So in one snapshot, you can have it set to Speaker Mode using whatever speaker model you want, and then in the other, you'd have it set to User IR mode and have it select whatever IR you want. The User IR parameter would need to be set the snapshot controller as well.
  14. I assume you're talking about connecting the Powercab Plus via the L6 Link connection... You have to treat the Powercab parameters just like any other parameter you want to control with snapshots. You have to assign them to the Snapshot Controller (or any controller) in order for the values to change with snapshots.
  15. Can you elaborate what you mean by that? If you're in Stomp Mode, and hit FS1 and FS7, it should take you Snapshot Mode. If you're in Preset Mode, but you have Preset Mode view set to 8 Snapshots, it would take you to Snapshot Mode, but it would look identical to the view you have selected in Preset Mode at that point.
  16. Hitting the Mode footswitch once will toggle you back and forth between Preset Mode and Stomp Mode. If you want to change Preset Mode to display snapshots, go to Global Settings>Footswitches and select one of the views with snapshots in in the Preset Mode View parameter. The way to get into actual Snapshot Mode, showing you all 8 snapshots, is hitting FS1 and FS7 at the same time.
  17. The HF Trim value is a Global Setting in the Powercab, not a per preset one. That's why it's not exposed in the Helix.
  18. Line 6 hasn't ever done anything with Strandberg. You're probably thinking of this, which didn't seem to last very long on the market: https://www.boss.info/global/products/v-bdn/
  19. The Variax 500 isn’t supported in Workbench HD. Only the original Workbench works with the 500.
  20. It’s possible, and there are a good number of transplants out there. But I wouldn’t say it’s easy. It takes quite a bit of work and time.
  21. This is a user forum, not a support forum. If you want Line 6 CS support for a specific issue, your best bet is to open a support ticket.
  22. I wouldn’t mind taking a look at the setlist if you want to send it to me... Just so I understand correctly, is it only the last three presets you’re having a problem with or is it more than that?
  23. I couldn't say... I'm sure there's always a chance of pure coincidence in that a person had a fault and it just happened to reveal itself after a firmware update. I would imagine that it's possible that different firmware taxes the hardware in different ways, so it just exposes something that wasn't showing up before.
  24. Yes, you can rollback... It would still useful to CS if you opened a ticket to report what you're experiencing, though. I don't recall seeing other reports similar to what you're experiencing.
  25. Well, I guess I'd try reflashing the firmware then. If you're still having issues, I'd suggest opening a support ticket.
