Setting the input to Line in the Stomp does the exact same thing as turning the input pad on in the Helix. The amount of attenuation is identical according to DI (Eric Klein).

I’ll take your word for it... It’s not listed in the manual, at least not the current one. How would that be functionally any different than controlling the Level parameter in the output block with the expression pedal?

You can’t control it via MIDI either... It’s an analog attenuator, I believe.

You can do that via the L6 Link connection.

Limited control? You can control every parameter in the Powercab preset via L6 Link. There’s really no reason to use MIDI between the Helix and PC any longer.

If you update from a pre-2.80 firmware to a post-2.80 firmware, your Global Settings will be reset. If you create a backup and restore from backup, those setttings will be restored.

The Legacy Auto Volume Echo has always worked wonderfully for me.

Are you performing the channel scan procedure when you use the V75?
-
Have you tried it on different switches?
-
From what I understand it has to do with the VST3 format itself, not a choice by Line 6.
-
Double-check the settings for the Output Block in the preset you purchased. It sounds like it's set to something where audio wouldn't be sent to the L6 Link output.

If you're assigning MIDI PC commands to a footswitch, those commands don't have an on/off state associated with them. They are one-off commands that are sent out whenever you hit the footswitch. It's just a trigger. You could assign a dummy block, like a Gain block, to that switch and then the light would turn off and on. If you have multiple footswitches with PCs assigned to them, though, it would still get confusing because the light from one you hit first would stay on when you hit the other one. A better way to do this might be using snapshots and Instant Commands. You can set up an Instant Command to send out a specific PC# when you go to each snapshot. The LED for the footswitch the snapshot is assigned to would light and remain lit while you're in a snapshot and turn off when you go to another one.
-
What do you mean Bank Up and Bank Down don't work anymore? What aren't they doing? Are you not able to enter and exit Snapshot Mode? You installed the 2.82 update?
-
You have to be in Stomp Mode to assign the Looper to a footswitch. It sounds like you're in Preset Mode or Scroll Mode.

Hmmm... Not sure if I’d call that a bug or not as I’m not sure what I’d expect when changing presets. I wouldn’t expect the Helix to track the status of a switch through a preset change. It would set all the switch to the state they were in when the preset was saved. So if you have a switch depressed when the preset is changed, and then release, it’s interpreting that release as a toggle of that switch, thus turning that effect on.

Not sure I understand what you mean when you say they're showing under the Mode button... But if you updated from a pre-2.80 firmware to 2.82, your Global Settings will have been reset to the default settings. It sounds like this is probably what happened. If you created a backup before updating, restoring from backup will also restore your Global Settings to how they were. As far as the Mode footswitch, hitting it one always toggles between Stomp and Preset Modes. It sounds like you had Preset Mode set to one of the modes where snapshots show on the bottom row of footswitches. You just need to select that setting again. Or, as I said, earlier, just restore from backup in HX Edit.
-
There is a gap when switching presets, yes. This is one of the main reasons for snapshots. I'd suggest you take a look at that chapter in the manual to get an understanding of what they offer. They will allow to switch seamlessly and instantaneously between drastically different settings within a preset. As far as the pitch shifting, it isn't polyphonic. Some people have had some success with downtuning a whole or half step, like you said, but it's kind of not designed for that. Polyphonic shifting is one of the things that should be coming in a future firmware update.

50' is the limit per the standard MIDI spec, so anything shorter than that should be fine. Just use a decent quality cable.
-
If they were all faulty Line 6 couldn't afford to sell them as they would actually be losing money. I sold mine quite awhile ago, but I never had any issues with it. What power supply are you using with it?
-
Have you tried different cables? It's hard to say without having another AES/EBU source to try with the PC. The Helix into the PC isn't technically using AES/EBU.
-
I looked at the Axe FX III manual, and I don't really see much to adjust on the that as far as AES/EBU is concerned. It's set at 48kHz, so that shouldn't be an issue. Does it make any difference if you only have one PC connected?

If you're not using the parallel path for Path 1, just drop a Gain block into Path 1B and set the output for that Path to be Path 2. Leave the output for Path 1A set to Digital.
-
It's not the case. There's much life left in the Helix line.
-
Yes, it does. If you want to keep those, you can uncheck the boxes for the FACTORY1, FACTORY2 and TEMPLATES setlists when you do the Restore from Backup.
