  1. FYI- You can adjust that toe switch on the Mission SP1-L6 with very little effort. I did mine and it's a light touch now.
  2. I say keep the guitar that suits you best and wish the nice forum members a kind farewell. That said, it's hard to put down a nice SG. :)
  3. OTOH if it's easy to steal (or buy legally by hog-tying the hardware to the software without a safety net and then returning the hardware) how does that do for overall sales of a product? LOL, Just look at the extremes people are going to now, over having to pay more than $99.00. You'd think I stuck um with a bowie knife... ;)
  4. I disagree and let me tell you why. 1st off dongles are not outdated. They are used by many Companies on many powerful pieces of software sold today. 2nd, you losing dongles and not having enough USB slots is not anyone's issue but your own. And finally 3rd, I don't care what seems odd or weird to you or even what Line 6 charges for Native. I'm not "worried" as much as you and others seem to be about how much money it will cost. I/we can either afford it now or later. That ultimate decision on price or protection is not in my pay grade or yours. I do however have a specific reason to want support for Helix for a long "long" time, and if ripping off Line 6 causes that support to drop off sooner rather than later for Helix (by stealing their software one way or the other I.E. no copy protection), then I am against it totally. Line 6, just like any other companies bottom line is the almighty dollar. They lose profit on a product then they move on. Period! For example, If a dongle (or any other protection device available today) adds long-term $$ income for Line 6 with Native and creates profit (thus increasing a longer lifetime support for the Helix platform overall) and lessens theft of income for that product (them), then I don't Give a Rats rear end what you or anyone else thinks about it costing more, or having software protection. I'm all for prolonging the Helix program. If they can do the same without a dongle fine, whatever prolongs the Helix lifespan. If my ideas seem a little odd or aggressive to you or anyone else about this, then so be it. It is what it is. My bottom line is this- A higher price will be paid by all if we lose a Line 6 support on Helix sooner rather than later "just because" we didn't want to deal with a little copy protection (or a rethink on how Native is sold hogtied to the Helix hardware without a net) now. Whatever adds longer support for Helix Im for- no matter the costs or trouble it might cause you or me. That's how I feel. As always, YMMV.
  5. That fishin hook was sharp and it almost got me too (as it did several here). ;) Please tell the guys on the other forums to play what they want to. I kinda like Helix and unless something big happens to what's already out there, I for one have no need to go back.
  6. Behringer HD400 2 channel Hum Destroyer. Run it from Helix send into the destroyer, and then from it into the guitar in on the amp. I own one and it works! Sweetwater
  7. Fine, then CHARGE $399.00 for it. Add a dongle to it if it's worth a lot more than what I suggested, I don't care either way. Put your Native where yer mouth is, but ABORT it from the Helix hardware deal or suffer O Bitty HELL keeping people from trying to cheat you for it (by buying and then Returning the Hardware for the software)... Your choice as always, but don't say you weren't warned.... ;) I said if the shoe fits. Gosh, I didn't know... ;) Im KIDDING! LOL....
  8. Not the best answer perhaps but my best guess is to google the FCB1010 and read, and then watch videos on Youtube for how to program it like you want.
  9. Kemper L&R mains set to FX outs only from the output menu. Set the Direct out to Amp dry only ( this will give you a "wet dry wet" setup). Then use the monitor L&R ins on the back of the FH-1500 for the FX inputs, and use the RTN input on the FH1500 (from the Direct Out on the Kemper). Hope this helped!
  10. LOL yea, because someone might steal the chain!!! :D
  11. That quote should be stickied! We are ALL (yes, even me) guilty of this. And then there are other cases where it was assumed because a piece of hardware was named the same identical thing, but didn't perform the same way... Agreed. And not just that issue but even maybe a tuner for the editor! :D
  12. It's not crap- far from it, and I've not had any issues with it, as most haven't or Companies wouldn't use them. It's company protection from theft of property. Stops the freeloaders and digital welfare thieves. I'm sure Line 6 would appreciate that fact. Arturia, Steinberg, Fractal Audio, Avid, EastWest, and Slate Digital aren't hurting financial wise either im thinking, they ALL use dongles and the point is they don't have to worry much about theft. It takes a bit more to set up granted, but easy to do and then you are golden. I have "never" had an issue with my iLok or eLicenser dongle. Unless you are a virtual blooming idiot it's really simple to set up, but then if that's the case (not pointing to anyone in particular but if the shoe fits) then you don't need to buy software anyway! ;) So, I say raise the price of Native to 199.00, Abort its connection with Helix entirely for purchase, use a dongle, and enjoy your software... ;) As always, YMMV.
  13. Yeppers I missed the memo- Thanks guys.
  14. I still say abort it completely from the hardware, and then iLok it. Basically theft proof then and I don't care what they charge for it at that point. Most people have an iLok or eLicenser dongle with room on it (for other software) these days anywho.
  15. Agreed and they will I'm sure. But I've heard that you just can't expect updates very often that way. ;)
  16. It is but you may use it. I only ask that you include me in the credits on your next best seller.
  17. Craig, I had no idea. Strymon Sounds are excellent! I bought a Mobius recently and got Helix set up via midi to go into bypass on footswitch A using the controller. I have not set up switch B yet (if that's even possible), but I can bypass A as needed now! Thanks for the heads up about Strymon.
  18. Nope. I still have my Helix and do not plan to sell it anytime soon. I just like to see those who would order a $1400 piece of hardware and then return it just to steal software for a better price, cringe a bit. In other words, Besides being dishonest and a crook, they are so tight every time the let gas their nose bleeds. I also support Line 6, as should we all. It's a pretty simple concept really. When they do well, in return we see the benefits. When they do not do well on a product, we don't get the updates or extras. All support goes out the window. So you see, it's not just about you or me or extra homework. It's about common sense economics support that goes both ways.
  19. Ok, tell me what's so terrible about my idea if you were Line 6? 1. The software purchase price now has nothing to do with a Helix hardware purchase. 2. There is no attached reason for Helix to be returned (or even purchased) then to get the software. 3. Less hassle for Line 6 (HUGE REASON) to sell the product that people will buy anyway if it's any count. 4. Yea it costs $100.00 more than it did. Big freeking deal. That's a dinner out for a family of 4 and a movie these days. 5. This idea stops THIEVES from stealing software by buying the hardware and then returning it. 6. If the software is worth its own salt, it will sell itself without having to rely on the hardware anyway. 7. I'd rather pay for a product that sells itself. Wouldn't you? 8. If you ran Line 6, and had this choice as an option now, what business decision would you make? Stay the course and possibly have 100's of hardware unit returns just to get the software, or make another hundred bucks on non-returnable software?
  20. I see what you mean. I'd be disappointed too if it were the other way around. But money is money no matter what border is crossed so I doubt this will happen. I actually think they should just withdraw the special deal for Helix owners and sell it outright for $199.00. A lot LOT less headache for them this way, and I'm sure we would get over it. ;)
  21. You mentioned Helix Rack. Did you follow the instructions on updating the firmware to the letter? Did you use the latest Line 6 updater? http://line6.com/software/index.html
  22. 2 older Mackie HR824's, when I don't turn on my Firehawk 1500. Sounds awesome!
  23. The money issue is there for the bar owners as well. Things have gone up for them too. Not enough people unless a major act comes thru and most can't afford them. Add to this more people would rather stay home and watch Exodus on their PI, or call up videos on YouTube for that instant gratification, rather than go watch a band in a dive across town for entertainment. So, I just do the same thing and enjoy my music at home too.
  24. LOL, I couldn't have said it better. But then, that's what you are for. :P :P
