    Tube amps Gone?

Axe that is where one of your issues is about understanding all this FRFR stuff. Those "tiny" monitor speakers you speak of, are not tiny under powered Radio-Shack junk. In fact, they will blow yer head off cranked up. ;) I'm talking about some studio quality FRFR monitors like the Atomic CLR's (or those like them quality wise). Each output 500 watts and a pair of those pointed at your face (unlike typical cabinets that point at your knees) are more powerful than you will need in my opinion and yes I owned a pair. Also, you might consider a Line 6 Firehawk 1500 "as a monitor". I have one and use it for that. It's MONSTER loud if I want it to be, and I have the option to use its amp/cab patches if I chose to. I think someone has misinformed you on the tone and power these have. CLR Firehawk 1500 No, I didn't catch on to that because you didn't state it until now, and because you are fluid in English as far as text goes. I just considered you knew like we all do, that flat statements need to be completely flat (without errors), and what you stated has bumps all in it (not only my opinion but many). :) It's ok bud, but I still believe you are incorrect about not being a pro unless you have a tube amp on stage. You are NOT the only one that thinks this way either. That's why today's options for guitarist are great!!! I didn't mean to misrepresent what you posted and to my knowledge I didn't, but I'll give you some wiggle room because I now know English is not your native language. It's all good- Peace Brother.
  2. So the new electric machine is a ??? Anywho The same thing happened to me when I got a new air purifier for the studio- noise when I plugged anything into the aux 3 jacks on Helix. Turned it off and the noise disappeared. So would please mark the topic as solved now esarlag? Thanks!
  3. That wouldn't happen or even be necessary if someone from Line 6 would just admit that A; Yes, there IS a problem with the tuner, and B; we are going to fix it. Or, A; there IS no problem with the tuner so forget it cause it ain't gonna happen and B; Helix version 2 will have a tuner for the editor... Then, make a sticky and point to this every time someone brings the issue back up.... BTW, if this has already been done (yes, I sleep and work and miss stuff - even here) please disregard. ;)

    Where is Native?

Well, I use the current editor and want a tuner included in it, because it stops me from having to get up and move away from my recording console. Yes, its a minor thing but helps the workflow. And so I do hope that Native has a tuner built in as well.

I love tuning editors as well. Here's some glue (for the cracks) :P

    Tube amps Gone?

Reread your post and quit trying to wiggle out from under your wrong flat statements about not being a pro unless you have a tube amp on stage, and just admit you were wrong. There is no twisting here. Not only that, but do you even own and use what you are suggesting is inferior to tube amps? It would help your argument a little if you did. That's like saying chocolate tastes funny but you've not tried any yet. No, I'm not embarrassed about helping (or correcting) you (or anyone else) and I admit when I'm wrong here, just ask anyone. Hell, we are all wrong at some point and no one holds back on me lol. And one more thing, your statement to me read like you are/were suggesting I am disagreeing (with your tube amp being better on stage ideas) only because I can't hear the difference in tone, while you can. That in itself is the accurate definition of what a tube snob says because they already know everything so don't confuse them with any facts. If that is the case, it is condescending and rude. If not, my apologies in the way I read it. I could not have said that better Ralph!!!

    Where is Native?

That's nice to read. But tell me, is there a tuner for the editor?
  9. I have had both and like the tones on Helix much better.

    Tube amps Gone?

Like I said, there are amps worth keeping for that "special" sound you can't seem to find elsewhere. That does NOT mean that you cant take an Axe FX II, Kemper, or Helix out on tour (or in the studio) and kill with it, as many are doing right now.

    Tube amps Gone?

"You" didnt... ;) No, what you were stating was that I couldn't hear the difference between that "good tube tone" versus one of those err...., modelers... On a "modeler" forum no less- LOL. But, that's ok, and you are entitled to your opinion as am I and the rest of us. Speaking from experience, you too can choose to be wrong as much as you like here. :P

    Tube amps Gone?

I'm 60, and yes I have... The modeling amps today are not like the bean from yesteryears. Pot calling the kettle here bud? And I quote "Well, if you hear no difference, then you may well abstain from using a good amp"... That's a pretty flat statement and one I believe many would disagree with. Helix is not your fathers Pod, Axe FXII, or Kemper. They have come a long way, and many pros's today or touring with them. So in that regard, you are incorrect and you're the one who needs to rethink the flat statement you made. ;)

    Tube amps Gone?

So how long have you been a tube snob? That's ok, if it helps those that need it the most I'm all for it. BTW, I was probably using those good amps you speak of when you were still crapping yellow. ;) and yes I'm using Helix because it is "many" of those good amps you speak of, in one box. I thought you mentioned "sound pressure"? Then you switch to tone when pressure didn't work. So Which one would you like to discuss, because they are two separate things.

    Tube amps Gone?

As far as sound pressure, I've stood in front of monitors that would blow yer hat off. So to me it all about choice and not professionalism. ;)

    Tube amps Gone?

I have a new Grandmeister Deluxe 40 head, and I got it only because it has a certain snarl that Helix can't reproduce to my ears. Actually Im using it with Helix so that I can add a wah, volume pedal, and compression, which works out great! I'm sure others have a special tube amp that does similar stuff for them. But all in all, Id say Helix (and a few others) have dampened the need to purchase amps (like it was say a decade ago).
  16. Oh yea, I can modify the Mission pedal (I'm a 40+ year Electronics Tech by trade) but I still wish for a Helix calibration page along with a "curve" adjust for the heel to toe travel. Seeing is believing. :)
  17. Naw, vocals are just filler before the next guitar solo... ;)
  18. I wish they would add calibration. I have a Mission spring pedal that works but goes past the 100% and then folds back down to around 50% at full toe. It worked fine when connected to the Axe FX II (after calibration). Since I can't calibrate the mission pedal in Helix, I guess I'm SOL on using it with auto engage.
  19. Other than a can of "clean-air" duster (with the small straw-tube) and a bit of panel removing I can't think of another way.
  20. You would have to have software that would allow that format to merge into each other without changing the tones of either one. I don't think that exists, but if it does please tell us where it is. The closest thing I know of that is kinda sorta like what you might want is called "CabLab", and Fractal Audio makes it. You might look at it. I would LOVE it is Line 6 came up with one incorporated in (or worked in tandem with) its editor for Helix.

    saddest tone

Saw them myself. They did a good show and then they did a "Fifty's" song and things got thrown at them, but they were pro's and finished the song and moved on. I'd have walked off the stage but they didnt, I guess they had more dealings with Asshats than I have...

    saddest tone

"One" is a song written by Harry Nilsson and made famous by Three Dog Night whose recording reached number five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100[2] in 1969 and number four in Canada. Aimee Mann did a recording of it too, back in 95. Google is yer friend ;)
  23. The Axe FX II editor (had this when I owned one) had a built in curve adjust setting (using virtual sliders) for the Expression pedals, for adjusting the beginning and end of the travel on the pedal. This allowed the user to use a straight line from beginning to end, or set a convex curve at the start and concave at the end of travel, and this could be adjusted as very minor or a lot, user choice. They also had a user adjustment (in percentages) on when exactly the Wah would engage when rocked forwards from heel position. I WISH Line 6 would take a second and consider this to add to Helix.
  24. So what century did this guy teleport from? Neither does a Luddite minded know it all wanna be... If he is this way about your setup, he will be that way about everything else too. Leave. Now. Do not collect $200.00... Find a group where there is no music equipment dated Neanderthals. They are out there...
