Yep Id says that's more than one or two... ;)

I just saw this- LOL!

Thanks for the listen, specracer986! Yea that "little darkness" you speak of could be because of where the mic was positioned (speaker side) as these aren't coaxial. Back a bit further it sounds really nice to these old ears, but you know what they say... Older the player, the higher the treble! ;) Like I said, don't just believe my babbling and raving, read the mostly positive reviews from the users on Sweetwaters page and other sites. Thats what initially got my attention.

Here Ya go. Recorded with a "cheapy" Shure Prologue mic. Yea I kinda know about that "other" stuff involved besides speaker's only (been doing this since 69), yer right it takes more than just the FRFR speakers to sound good. :D But I think these ASM-12's sound killer in any case. As always, YMMV. Off the cuff, I did a cleanish, then added a modulated effect, then some dirt... Hope ya'll like. :) SoundCloud

So what in the world caused the "grime" in the 1st place? Are the fans having a food fight during the 2nd set? ;)

I have lag a time or two every 3 months or so here, but not often enough to post about it. Maybe it's just your location and ISP Ralph?
-
So if you have multiple units, and each with a different midi channel setting, sending CC's won't matter then, right?

Kemper's biggest flaw (for me) before I sold mine around 6 months back, was no editor ever planned and it likely won't ever have one unless a 3rd party does it. That, and I didn't like the file system (method of storing and retrieving). Minor things I know, but was cumbersome to me.

Same here- didn't notice a tonal greatness increase by updating either. I'll "again" try some new strings and see if that helps. Anyone using anything but 10-46's on their 69?
-
Actually, you are if using Helix, as its running two SHARC's. :P

Just got me a pair of ASM-12's. :D With the 100hz "cut" on, I'm in "Heaven"- Tones to die for! The overwhelming majority of reviews on these were spot on. B)

Sad to say compared to my real 93 strat with Kinmans, my JTV69 sounds terrible too. I use it mainly now for alternate tunings and a little slide. That's it. The only patches in there worth mentioning to me is an acoustic or two, and the LesPauls. As always, YMMV.

If you like it fine, if not that's fine too. I won't lose sleep over it either way. ;)

Im not sure if the controllers (pedals) on the HD500x "transmit" midi or CC data out of the midi out port. If they do then I suspect its possible. Might hook up a software program like midi Ox or some such and see...

I found this thread after asking about them... Now, that statement is an endorsement! I just wonder if you regret selling them no matter what you are using now? A little history... I ask because (OCD a bit as well at least on the holy grail of tone)..., My wonderful Line-6 Firehawk-1500 got shafted the other day via an editor upgrade (which now won't allow my iPad-2 to use it). Seems u need iOS version 10 to use the editor, and the iPad 2 (and many others) are stuck at 9.35 or so. Great amp for FRFR, but I'm not buying a new iPad just to use an editor (that used to work just fine before the update). I want it all to work- So, it may be up for sale soon. :(

Just curious as I just ran across this item. Looks awesome and has some positive user response.

That may be, but the ring (middle part) of the connector is not used in most of Helix. https://missionengineering.com/shop-2/products/expression/specific-use-exp/sp1-l6h/?v=7516fd43adaa The Mission page link above talks about using "TS" cables for Helix. Not TRS cables. These pedals are indeed Jumpered are inside on the pot, and "designed" for Helix, because it uses a Tip and Sleeve only. I know cause I've had them apart. Let me restate this, they are "designed" for Helix. Mission also makes pedals for Fractal Audio, and they ARE TRS cables because the Axe FX hardware uses TRS connections and are "wired" that way inside. AFAIK, Helix, for the most part, does not use the ring, even if they used TRS hardware (except for the amp channel control). Here are the pics of an "Unmodified" EP1-L6 Mission pedal wired directly from the factory using "Tip" and "Sleeve" connection only. These are "designed" to work with Helix. Notice that there is no "third" wire on the output connector. "That" is why you can use a TRS cable as it makes no difference here. Once again, I think the reason TRS cables work in TS ports on Helix is that the "sleeve" side of the connector inside is touching the sleeve of the cable, and it doesn't use or touch the ring part. We all fall into the "I bought this so it should work with anything" mindset at times. I've done this myself. Fact is it just doesn't always work out that way once the unit is shipped out the door. Once shipped, you can not change hardware design and wiring connections on a switch with a firmware update unless it was designed that way from the factory. Case in point- The L6-Link port on Helix... Looks and named the same as the port on the HD-500, but it doesn't act the same... sigh... And that was "Too much measuring", not modding. ;)

We could ask about hair color but we all know you dye yours. Oh Helix questions! errr sorry... ;)

I'm curious... Given that a short causes higher current flow and resistance causes less, I would like to ask why it is that the primary side of an amps output transformer can have higher voltage swings (and thus more current fluctuation) when using a higher impedance load. Because of the higher output load (Example= 8 ohm amp hooked to a 16-ohm cab), wouldn't you then draw less current thru the "secondary" of the same output transformer? Please explain.

Helix is only reading the "Tip and Sleeve", and not the center ring (on a TRS cable or TS cable). I know this because Mission pedals designed for Helix (like the EP1-L6 and Sp1-L6) are using Tip and sleeve only I.E. 2 connections. Others like Kemper and Axe FX II use Tip, ring and Sleeve connections, but not Helix. I'm pretty certain I'm right on this. :) Good deal, and what your converter did there was change the cable configuration from Tip/ring/sleeve to Tip and Sleeve. ;) Here is a good page for reading about all this with some mods that might help too. http://line6.com/support/topic/17480-best-external-expression-pedal-for-use-with-helix/
