  1. Perspective is everything I guess. I'm of the opinion if Marshall's gain structure isn't high enough maybe you're playing the wrong stuff lol. :) But then as you might notice, I'm "old" school.... :P
  2. Running Mac Sierra- This version has crashed on me (losing connections and also completely disappearing off the screen with an error message to send to Apple) around 10 times in 2 or so hours of use, much more frequent than the rare occasions the last one did. Saving & importing is what does the loss of connections. Not sure yet whats doing the crash/mesage and disappearing. No cable or port changes were made prior to the update. I can restart and it acts normal for a while.
  3. I don't understand why you are choosing to run 256 colors? I know Windows 7 can run more colors than this. Could be that the editor itself won't run on that minimum?
  4. The one's I'm after are the midi program numbers for picking different patches on Strymon pedals.
  5. I've heard that was partly caused by corporate "pirates" grabbing up huge commodities and the price gouging the rest of us.
  6. Not the CC#'s, where are the program # settings in the new editor?
  7. What version of OS and graphics card are you running?
  8. Thanks for setting me straight. May all the parts from now on follow suit.
  9. Phil if I only use the instant commands (lightning bolts), then how do I switch them off and on with no toggle command? I'm using a CC #102 set to toggle on and off the effect from each pedal. If I remove this CC and just use the instant commands (lightning bolts) , how do I turn them off? I can not turn off that effect unless I switch to another effect? That cant be right. Sorry abt the thick-headedness but whats new about that lol. :P Errrr, you weren't using anything in the "new" editor when you ?...., naw... ;)
  10. I don't really know just how to set this up with Snapshots, but will take another look- Thanks for your input Phil...
  11. Phil are you using an FX loop (Send and Return pair) per pedal? If so that won't work for me because I have all 3 Strymon pedals "daisy chained" audio wise and am using FX-Loop #4 in an "always-on" setting. I do this because (I have the other FX Loops used- AND) i want to have the BIG-SKY reverb on constant, and would like to switch on and off different settings of Time-Line and Mobius. In this setup, the only way I knew to do what I wanted was to have Helix send a program # every time you press a foot switch.
  12. Havent tried "Snapshots" to change Mobius presets Phil. I assumed those were "internal" to Helix only. I'll give it a whirl! Thanks.
  13. I would like to see the "instant" (lightning bolt symbol) settings (where you set what program/sound to use on the pedal) to have its own footswitch assignment option (and a program # assigned and sent every time the footswitch is pressed). This way I can set up (using the same midi channel) many different program changes (sounds) from a pedal (such as a Strymon Mobius), depending on what footswitch I press on the Helix controller. Right now, setting up different program numbers on "Instant" (in the editor) and using the footswitch under them will not allow the program change to happen no matter the program # settings on "Instant" tab, because they are all on the same midi channel and no additional control change is sent I'm thinking. Does that make sense?
  14. Something common to all. Noise on the power incoming? I dunno either.
  15. Agreed, those "should" work and obviously don't. Eat that sandwich a bite at a time. What I would try- Remove all Line-6 software (drivers, editors, EVERYTHING Line-6), and then just reinstall the editor software and see if it connects and holds that connection. Also be aware that if you have external pedals involved (I do on my rack controller), move them just a little before trying to save the patch. My Helix won't save squat (on a Mac) in the editor when 1st booted up until I move those pedals first FYI. Then try saving the patch. DONT add in the audio interface drivers just yet (if possible) and see it the editor software is stable.
  16. It may not be cost-effective, but use Helix as a guitar processor (what I think is its primary function) and get another audio interface. Problem solved... ;)
  17. DI is the closest thing we have ever had regarding updates - allowing a peek thru the darkened windows of Line-6's private world. When he "can" say something I'm sure that he will.
  18. I'm not sure if a Helix update would fix a Mac/PC software problem? ;) Or maybe a bad USB cable? Mine stays hooked up until I kill it on my iMac, so I don't think this is a Helix update fixable.
  19. I'm an expert on meltdowns. This one is Just short of 600 degrees C Id say.... ;)

    Tube amps Gone?

And nobody coulda woulda or shoulda said it any better than that lol... :P
  21. I understand. Well, I wouldn't run Helix into a Kemper but I might run just the Kemper. It sounds great (as good as Helix in some cases and even better on some patches). Nothing wrong with using a Kemper. The reason I have Helix and sold my Kemper is because of no editor (BIG deal for me), and the fact that Helix has the ability to be the "center" of the guitar studio because of all its aux sends and returns.
  22. Yea I was gonna ask, why in the world would you (but of course you can) run the output of Helix into a Profiler?

I'm using Helix with my Marshall so that I can still get a Wah, volume, Freq-Out, Strymon and Helix effects too. Helix is the great "Interface" for musicians!
