OTOH, Yamaha has deep pockets and business clout, something I'm pretty sure (for whatever reason) helps Line-6 from time to time on different endeavors, no matter who runs them.

Simple... If the "Legacy" fx added in the Helix update can carry its own worth sound-wise, then more people will use them and they won't wind up on "oblivion's" shelf. If they don't, well....

The AXE III looks awesome, and somewhere around $3500+ for it and the controller should buy me more awesomeness! Or, I could just enjoy what I have now in Helix... ;)

When you say "everything" this on every patch? Or just the 1st one it powers up with? Also, listen with a set of headphones too, and see if it's not your FR/powered speakers losing a horn or tweeter randomly.

Yes. When I press next to the LCD screens on my Presonus Fadertport 8, they do "ripple" as you describe it. And I have seen this happen on other products as well. See THIS for more info...

Believe me when I say this JuRo1971, "ANY" information about whats coming from Line-6 is sooooo much better than it used to be when we got nothing until it happened. :)

That box may be just what I need for surgically removing my DSL from Helix... It does have ports on the back for Mission controller pedals, correct?

Line 6 hit this one outta the park with Helix, and it will ride the high waves for a while until (pick yer poison here) Fractal releases version 3 of the Axe FX with 4 Sharq Processors and yada yada yada. Line 6 knows this as does every maker of dream guitar processors, and so the competition and new boxes coming is always a good thing for us.

I currently have my DSL 100H hooked into Helix, but now I am considering the new HX box, esp. since I think I saw on the back it has 2 "controller" inputs for my Mission pedals. This would "free up" an FX loop on Helix for me too! :)

I was thinking the same...

I know it is supposed to be designed for It, but doesn't it seem a bit strange to complain about a $1000 multi effects unit breaking when we put it on the floor in front of us for the purpose of steping all over it for hours ? (ducks as rocks whiz by)...I'm sure I might feel different if it was mine that was broken.
