  1. Exactly. Like hitting your thumb with a hammer now, and not wanting to do it again later. ;) Welp, maybe just because its a computer sometimes this happens. Bad excuse I know... I'm not borrowing trouble, believe me. It's just that it NEVER happened before after an update I've done and I've done them all for almost 2 years. FYI- I did many off-on reboots since the last post without a single burp, and it sounds the same (awesome). The only thing I did notice, was that after this update I have to re-wiggle every control pedal (Wah and volume) because its now needing me to save an edited preset (the one its on when it boots up), and it won't save until I move (reset) them. There's a fast change on the wah back and forth 1 or 2 % (showing on the display). Once I move it, it gos away and I can save the preset/patch. On the last update this went away, but on previous ones, this has happened before too. No biggy, just thought id mention it. Hummm, I just dunno. The room was a bit chilly (66 degrees).
  2. I immediately switched Helix off, waited 5 seconds and turned it back on. Helix came up in what looks normal now. I haven't played thru it yet. After updating to Version 2.53 Firmware, Helix froze on me this morning on boot-up. I updated/installed the 2.53 firmware last night, and followed all the normal procedures. I'm not trying to "knee-jerk react here but This has "Never" happened before. Yes, it's possible this was just a one-time thing, but atm I'm doubting that. It's a high probability that this latest firmware I just installed last night is the cause of the freezing on boot up... I didn't see where anyone else has seen this yet, and so I'm retesting the bootup process (trying to break it) by doing the boot up multiple times now. Further testing and info will follow.
  3. Good idea Cru... For those that dont know, TGP is "The Gear Page".

    New helix rack

If those hs7 monitors are "full range-flat response" powered monitors, then just be sure and use a "Cab-IR" after the amp (unless it's built-in). Also check and see if the speakers have settings for being "on-the-floor", versus "tilted-back", versus "on-a-pole"/tripod mount.
  5. What would be helpful is for someone of authority from Line-6 to say whether or not this is even possible to do with the current Block Icons in Helix. And if so, then we go from there.
  6. Yea sorry I miss-spoke. You can change the values of the settings by setting their values to "Snap-shot" and then switching between them. For instance, I could set the mid-range to 5.4, and then hold down the control key and left click (which brings up a menu). At the bottom of the menu, there is a setting called "SnapShot". So set Snap-Shot 1 to a mid-range of 5.4, SnapShot 2 to a mid-Range of 5.7, etc etc... But you cannot remove the block by just switching the Snap-shots. Sorry about that!
  7. OK I will, Most (lots of) recordings of major guitar players are double-tracked (or more), and the same goes for vocal tracks as well. IIRC there are some VST's/AU effects that mimic this but for the life of me, I don't remember their names atm. You might try and play with copying a guitar track and then moving it a tiny bit "out of phase" ever so slightly. As far as doing this in Helix, a lil bit of a chorus setting perhaps?
  8. If I am understanding you correctly, If you have your LT connected to a computer and have the editor, you can rename the Snapshot back as "SNAPSHOT", and then just remove all the blocks in that snapshot, and then save. The same thing go's with a preset> goto a "new preset" and export it out to your saved preset folder. Then whenever you wish to remove the patch from your user setlist, just import the "new preset" patch into that slot. Hope this helps!

    l6 link and Helix

Backburner? At one point I woulda appreciated the fact that it made it onto the stove that far. No, L6-Link for Helix (the midi control part that worked well in the HD series) is DEAD as far as I'm concerned. Go ahead Line-6 and prove me wrong (without reverting to yer high-pitched nasally voice repeating over and over "it wasn't designed for Helix").... More pessimism? Yea (nod's head)...., that's right. :P
  10. Wondering if THIS needs to be looked at?
  11. Sure you can. My H&K Grandmeister 40 Deluxe works flawless using Bluetooth with my iPad-2, and the WMI-1. And, until Line-6 updated and changed the firmware on the Firehawk 1500 app, my iPad-2 and it ran flawlessly as well via Bluetooth. So yea dream on... ;)
  12. Always wanted to try "RockSmith" but never have, may give it a shot.
  13. Well, I was not speaking of "clunkers". Don't know what gave you that impression. When I said that they had been around for centuries, that meant that they had been in the business long enough to know better, yet they still fell into the get it out now and fix it later attitude. It's the "new" items (hardware and software) that get rushed out the door for a profit now and a "we can fix it later" attitude these days, and that was what I was referring to AND what I think is the wrong approach in nearly every instance. I do hope you agree that "approach" is wrong, even if we may differ on who does it. That's ok. On this subject, I don't buy your reluctance to accept facts either if you think it doesn't happen. Oh, not that Line-6 did anything like that... ;) One final thought on this discussion. Just because something has been in development for years, does not always mean its ready for prime-time.
  14. So are automobiles Phil, and yet there are all kinds of recalls from Airbags to brake failures on "Major" brands of vehicles from companies that have been around a century or so. To me, the all mighty dollar controls the mindset (and release times) on this and that's where the problem lies, and unfortunately its an unchangeable and unfixable concept. Sigh... Oh well, so all we have left is, let them fix it "after" the purchase eh? If that's all we have left (and it is), then ok, but I don't have to like it. :)
  15. My advice is to turn in a ticket... Sorry to read you are having issues with a brand new HX unit Robert. Ermmm, Another "shingle" issue Phil? ;)
  16. Can you give us a "step by step" of exactly what you did (if anything) just before when it was sounding good, and then just after when the amp tone was sort of digitally clipping the interface? Don't leave out anything. Did you, for instance, have a power interruption at the house/practice place, etc?
  17. Sure they will fix it as always, but that wasn't my point. I appreciate that our roofs don't leak, but I'm not so simple minded that I believe its always a bad shingle. There's no good excuse for bad decision making, and IF (notice the caps on IF) Line-6 rushed HX out the door before it was ready then that's exactly what it was, a bad decision. I have no idea if that was the case, and neither do any of you besides maybe DI or Tony... That's why I said,"IF"... Good shingles won't fix a bad roof job Phil. ;) Please don't try to tell me that fixing things later means it's a good thing to release things that are not ready now, just to meet contractual timeframes and agreements. In today's Fd up world that may be the norm, and It may be what it is, but that to "me" never makes it a good thing for the customer no matter how long they have to wait. As always YMMV and that's ok. Please remind me I said this on the next major Helix update that's not come out yet! :D
  18. Then you haven't bought a Gibson LP yet, have you... ;) A musicians creed to live by- Tone wise a good purchase is never a stupid investment.
  19. Wait!!!! Lemme get more popcorn....
  20. Line-6 doesn't need this kind of PR. I don't own one, but if I were in the market for this unit, this might steer me away from buying one. My take is this is what happens when release dates become more important than QA testing. A bit harsh? Maybe. Or maybe I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking. ;)
  21. I read this and laughed for 8.4932 seconds...
  22. Being able to use a real head (and Strymon pedals) with valves into Helix along with the excellent amps and cabs in Helix and Native is a dream come true for me (and many others). You don't need to go one way or the other (unless you just want to), as Helix allows for both ways. ;) I have my DSL 100H and an H&K GM-40 both running thru a single HD-400 hum-destroyer (dual-channels) into separate aux sends and returns in Helix, along with (in their own FX-Loop) a Big Sky, Time-Line and Mobius too (all controlled via midi setup in the Helix editor). Lots of options you can use as Helix is the center of my guitar studio!
  23. It does. What I meant by that is that it keeps the line 6 forum Moderators busy because they cant block (ban) by IP addresses (because of proxy servers).
  24. Proxy servers etc. make it really hard to keep repeating scumbags from logging in.....
