  1. Nice! Is there a tuner for the editor by chance?
  2. FYI there's a new Line 6 Updater released on Jan 8th, if yer like me and missed it... ;)

It looks like this will be a nice update indeed, and I was wrong about the new FX possibly just being in the new box. My apologies...
  4. Can't wait to try the Friedman. Thanks in advance!
  5. Exactly, except it needs a tuner for the editor...

Yep Helix has the ability to become the major hub of your studio (or live) rig. But the modeled amps in it are excellent too, and I think anyone using Helix for just the FX or hub alone, is missing out on some sweet tones.

Not laughing, just answering the question as to why...
  8. Just think, in a few years off eBay you could pick one up (Along with a Vetta-2) for beans!!!! :P
  9. I use Helix (4 cable method) with my Marshall DSL 100H, and it sounds AWESOME!!! What ya waitin for then? :D
  10. Adding to this trial and error manual lol  - Something else I just figured out that helped me a lot as far as configuring patches per SNAPSHOT stuff. Put the CC command (with midi channel#) to switch off and on the pedals FIRST in line, and then the Bank/Progam commands after that to pick the patches you want to use from the pedals. For example, on the instant 1, 2 and 3 slots I used the CC commands (#0 or #127) and midi channel #1, channel #2, and channel #3 (3 pedals set to their own midi channel) first, for turning on or shutting off the pedals. The next three instant command slots are for the Bank/program commands (per midi channel) along with the number of the patch I wanted to use. Then all I had to do was change the CC command (on the right midi channel/pedal in focus) to 127 to turn it on, or 0 to turn it off per SNAPSHOT. Hope this makes some sense. :)

Agreed. But that is a very nice looking box.... So just how will Line-6 do this? Will Helix get the same (or better) updated FX too, or will ALL Helix users have to buy this box to get the updated FX in it? No snot bubbles please, I'm just askin... ;) http://i65.tinypic.com/2hpopef.jpg
  12. Now why OUCH, did you have OUCH, to bring that OUUUCHHH up??? :P
  13. The same thing can happen to a $60,000 car. But you still drive it, right? ;) I would purchase the extra insurance for Helix if you are concerned about it breaking. Insurance link is here.
  14. A GUI type of graphic (like the software in Fractals Editor) would allow seeing the sweep of the pedal in question. That would be mighty handy I'm thinking, especially if you are experiencing issues. In other words, automatic is fine if it always works. If it doesn't, there's no way in Helix software wise to check it. :(
  15. Oh yes, Helix would switch the pedals ok, I just couldn't get Nixie to follow suit until I switched the "Bank CC00" from "off" to "0". The way its set up is I have Helix as one midi out port and the midi-sport 4x4 (running the Strymon Nixie software) as the 2nd midi output for controlling the Strymon pedals. Both of these midi outs connect into the Midi-Solutions Merge Box. The output of the Merge Box then goes to the midi in on Mobius, which is then "midi" daisy chained in and out to the TimeLine and BigSky. Then midi out from the BigSky is sent back to the midi-sport 4x4 midi interface (I'm using port A for send and return), and this is where Nixie now knows where/how to configure itself and now matches the settings from the Helix editor. Switching (from the Helix Editor or the controller) to change SNAPSHOTS, and now Nixie follows it correctly. And I can also use the Nixie software as a switcher and editor as well, as that software's GUI allows to adjust and save any FX changes on all 3 pedals, and then save them on the pedals library where ever I want. :)
  16. Figured it out finally! Once I set Bank CC00 to “0†(and not off), Nixie started responding to program changes and the patch change matched the Strymon pedal settings. :D :D

    New Reverbs?

Yea but what abt those pics of Phil? :P

    New Reverbs?

So how many pictures of Phil doing (input demented and unholy stuff here) do you have Hamm, in order to already have these reverbs on your Helix? ;)
  19. Just wondering if the settings in Nixie are being updated every time a SnapShot is changed on the Helix controller? I'm running a midi Solutions midi-merger so that I can change the patch settings on my Strymon pedals via Nixie "and" or Helix. There was a firmware update on the Strymon pedals in November 2017 and just recently updated. Now, Nixie for some reason does not reflex the changes on its software whenever I change Snap Shots on Helix. ???
  20. Thanks again Phil. So in the "command center" do u add this CC #102 to the CC tab along with the program tab info above per patch (on the snapshots you want to go back to for no effects)?
  21. I've used everything in Helix, but then I'm not from this planet... :P
  22. Playing with the bypass again- (since I dont know the CC # to turn off the Strymon pedals with), the cheap and dirty method for me was to set up a patch (I picked patch #0 on Mobius) and set the depth to 0 % (Zero setting), and then set any Snapshots that I didn't want an effect from Mobius on to go to that patch 0 in the command center. I even named that patch "Depth Set to 0" on Mobius... Mobius is actually "on" but with the depth set to "0" on this patch, you don't hear it and in effect bypassed. If there's a better way of doing this I'm all ears. :D
