One guitar I don’t own is a tele. Why I don’t know as its the most used on everything I’m thinking 🤔

Thanks for the info guys- Next time DI, please forgo the "bean-counters" and naysayers, and use the best and fastest screamin @ssed thing available (think Vetta in the now) for Helix-2. If you make it, we will come ;) MOST EXCELLENT NEWS! Thanks DI for that tidbit.

Ahh I see yer point as Helix does indeed have the faster (and probably newer) processor. But once again, it also has to share that processing power for ALL of its FX, whereas Strymon uses one SHARC processor per FX box. Like I said earlier, I think Helix sounds wonderful. I just prefer the sounds of the Strymon FX (and as you know from what you have, variety is the spice of life). ;) Off topic but, I wonder why Line6 didn't use the more powerful "TigerSHARCs" in Helix, like Fractal does in the AxeFX?

I have 4 at the moment. Worth every penny too! :)

Have not heard that one yet DI- thanks for the heads up.

Think I'll just stick to my "Helix" Fender Twin and Strymon Riverside. But it was an "Interesting" sounding song and Brian May is awesome.

You want good and close Marshall tones (and a dozen or so more) buy a Helix. If you wants the exact same tone above, buy a Diamond amp. Helix should be able to get you real close. Personally, I didn't really care for the overdriven tones above from Diamond, buts that's just me... Hope you get the tones you desire!

I've said this before, I don't think Helix can sound as good or have as much variation in the effect as Strymon pedals can and do. I'm not saying that Helix's FX sounds bad by any stretch. It just that Big Sky, TimeLine and Mobius sound just gorgeous. In fact, I'll go so far as to say you have not really heard reverb until you have used a BigSky. It's that good IMO. I own both products so it's not me talking out my butt so much :P without some use of both products. While Helix is using the SHARC processor separately for all its FX, Strymon uses the same processor for "each" one of its pedals. So with thoses who own the 3 Strymons, it's like having 4 SHARC processors in using them with the awesome sounding amps in Helix!

Does not sound like a heat related problem at the moment. Sounds like a software crash, or maybe even a loose solder joint. If so, that could be what MusicLaw described, or many other things not "visible" to the user. In any event, this needs to be looked at.

What a bunch of doo doo having to go thru this... I feel for ya... :(

Ahh a "Vetta 3" ?

Id like to be able to have more that one Mobius/Timeline/BigSky setting per patch, using snapshots to switch between them. AND I want Helix to be able to program and control this (and not thru some external midi controller). Is this midi wise being worked on? Or if I can already do this can someone explain exactly how, please? Thanks... :)

I think the idea behind this thread is BRILLANT! +1

My best suggestion starting out after being a tube amp guy forever is....., - plug in, close yer eyes and play. Just listen, and don't look around the room for that big tube amplifier. ;)

So I guess I need to ask if Helix LT is such an inferior build design for you (or anyone else that feels this way), why do you still have it? You wouldn't keep a new car with an inferior build, would you?
-
Please expand on this. What did you change out to know its the input?
-
Well, Helix does have midi out, so if you set Helix to say midi channel 5, and the DT amp and DT-Edit to midi channel 1, it should not hurt anything to see if you can change settings and get a reply back into DT-Edit from the DT amp.

Add some pedals. I'm using some drive and other Strymon pedals thru the many FX ports in Helix with good results. The Bogner La Grange puts you in Plexi Heaven. Not that the drives in Helix aren't ok, they are. But my La Grange and Riverside sound better to me. Same for the Big Sky and Time-Line. Yea they nailed Helix as far as amp tone.

On Helix I have a fender twin dialed in and using a Strymon "Riverside" pedal with it. I'm using some Friedman ASM-12's and they sound awesome with that combination. Yes, they are pricey (and for a good reason). Don't just take my word for it- Read some reviews and listen to some youtube. Good basic settings are the result of some good sounding speakers, and every little thing you do matters.

Wellcome. Many here are Axe FX II converts including me. That's not saying I didn't like Fractal products or Kemper, cause I do. Hard choices were made and so far (overall) I'm liking the outcome.

Hope they add a tuner for the editor! :D

Welcome david !

Another neat idea I didn't think of using Helix- great !!!

Since there is no user "calibration" function on Helix for the midi controller pedals we all use can you change the topic wording on the OP, please? Why? It's not broken if it's purposely not there (I wish it was there too but it's not), and stating its useless is just an opinion (like mine) that I believe is unfair, and misleading to the new users. Not to mention my Mission pedals work great with Helix because they were "designed" for using with that unit. Don't put a square peg in a round hold and expect it to fit in other words. Thanks :)
