    Hx Edit on Android?

I'm not good with IT stuff. Please pardon... Any chance of writing HX Edit for Android? Any way to run Edit on an emulator or such on Note 10 plus? Also assuming the 10 + is adaptable to USB interface. Thanks J
  2. Sounds like a good plan! You set XLR out as line or mic? Thanks, j
  3. Timely subject - I'm looking for optimal settings for live, straight-to-the-board use with a variety of acoustic/electric and electric guitars. So... sounds like you recommend the attenuation of a DI box ( your post is too technical for my world- I'm an anesthesiologist, not an engineer) . In at he absence of a DI , what do you recommend ( in simple terms, [;ease) ? ( or perhaps I've missed the point ) . would your recommendation be predicated on a variety of other settings in the chain? cheers, Dr J
  4. Would the TILT EQ be a replacement for the 2 volume block crossover?
  5. Yo, Helix brainiacs! I miss the days of wirelessly connecting to the Firehawk for editing during live performances. Could actually get some crazy effects by tweaking the delay parameters in the middle of a trail , and other cool stuff. And there's a bunch of other reasons for live use of the editor that i'll spare you. As for the foot control- g'head , but it doesn't work as well as a tablet or laptop for me. I've been researching and coming up with zip- any suggestions for wirelessly connecting laptop to the USB -B on the Helix ? Otherwise , i'll stick to my 10 foot USB cable. Thanks
  6. Hello, Line 6- Any progress towards running Helix Edit on Android or iOS? Would a virtual workaround be possible? Would really like to have this option. Thanks, Jay

  8. Pbatts- thanks - I'll give it a whirl j
  9. Frustrating to only be able to read the title of Snapshots 1-4 in Snap/Stomp setting ! Would be great if Snapshot names would auto scroll to 5-8. thoughts? j
  10. I have been using 3Sigma Acoustic IR's ( Taylor) live with good results. Acoustic guitar IR's, not cabs.
  11. Been playing Tak and Ibanez acoustic guitars live through the Helix using 3Sigma IR's . Great tone, very little clip, fizz, etc. Much better than the Firehawk. I asked for help on the acoustic stuff before - experience was the key. I saw a post that described a way to scroll thru the IR's using controller-assignment. Just can't recall. Anyone have the link to the thread?
  12. I move for a wiki-manual , drawing on the brains and experience of the community. It would be for understanding and using the various parameters for the effects and amps. It could be housed in the support section . It could include links to other info sources. The benefit is it would be easily accessible and indexed/ content-tabled, and specific for the product ( Helix). Unless Line 6 has the time to write about all the effects and such, this would be a great resource. Line 6 , what say ye?

  14. The octoverb help listed above is another shining example of how helpful the community can be . Just wish Line 6 would publish important details - ones that have a practical value- like this info on the Octoverb . There are so many parameters on some of the delays and other effects that are hard to understand. Same for the deeper tube behaviors on the amps. I've seen great links to info spread out amongst the thousands of entries. I move for a wiki-manual for understanding and using the various parameters for the effects and amps. 15. It'd be cool to attach wheels to the bottom like a suitcase - any ideas? ( got this idea after watching bandmate drag my Helix backpack like it had wheels) i'll look on google
  16. I've put anything that casts shadows in front of Firehawk and Helix, including gig bags, etc. I like the idea of a custom made hood (metal, plastic, fabric?) As for heat sink, I reported that problem back in the POD days. Definitely a problem. Firehawk has suffered all sorts of of unpredictable effects, none good, in sunlight. Let us know.
  17. I assume this regards the "failure to load the IR " issue . I will delete them from the Helix if the converter is mission critical unless I'm missing an easy step. Probably buy the 3Sig thanks , all
  18. I downloaded the Taylor IR's into the editor, but they do not appear in the block editor window so I can't get them into the IR block . Any ideas?
  19. Been with Line 6 since original POD. Just opened Helix LT box. Downloaded some great acoustic patches - tone is amazing . But some are silent and I can't figure out why. Tuner is fine, but no sound. Is there a mute block hidden? I'm having difficulty assigning P1 to volume. Was easy on Firehawk, POD , etc . What am I missing on these issues? Lastly- is Helix editor not fully functioned ? i.e.- must I still go to the Helix for various tweaking. Apologize for any redundant thread. j

    Tuner

Try to tune to the first harmonic ie, over the 12th fret.
  21. The only issue is the impedance matching at the input; ... For me and the DI+ the issue was solved going into my DAW by using the Line input (instead of the Inst input) of my Focusrite 2i2 (with the new drivers downloaded). The output was fantastic going out of the L-R outputs into my monitors straight from the Helix. Thanks. To clarify - you were referring to DAW use , not live sound ? Because live is what I'm looking to use Helix for , especially the delays, verbs, and pedal volume swell .
  22. BuleriaChk posted a thread about playing nylon acoustic using a mic preamp in place of an amp/cab , reporting superior articulation etc. through FRFR speakers . A reply stated that Helix isn't kind to acoustic guitars unless one plugs into the effects return. There wasn't much help beyond that. I'm sure there's plenty of experience playing acoustic through Helix. Any recommendations / experience / suggestions? ( Tak, Ibenez, Martin ; various pick-up systems). I'd like to use the Helix effects . thanks, j BTW, I tried to avoid starting a redundant thread if this was already answered . I searched the forum using the work "acoustic" . Didn't help much .
  23. Kudos, Peter , for the video. Seems much of the convo is about acoustic IR's with electric guitars. I play an Ibanez Artwood, Takamine ( native pick-ups) , and a Martin JC-40 ( Fishman Rare Earth. Yeah- magnetic ). I'm playing through a Firehawk, and somewhat frustrated by the result. Something tinny and unpleasant is hiding in there. Let's just say I'm often tempted to chuck the Firehawk and go straight in thru some delay pedals. Is the Helix , with the aforementioned IR's ,ideal for these various acoustics compared to Firehawk?
  24. I feel "addicted" to using a tablet to edit, on the fly, for a number of reasons- presets, no matter how meticulously created, don't always match a room, a song, a gig, a vibe, etc. Rather than "tweak with the feet" or bend over, I find flipping through amp and effect settings on a waist level tablet much easier. Is Helix editor closer to live parameter control/ editing ? How's Helix panning out for acoustic guitars? thanks, j
