  1. Also… you might be able to get this setup working and tested at home before the gig if you use a Looper block here and there and move it around as required. Don’t know for sure…. Never tried that.
  2. Not sure I understand fully, but…. Why are you using two inputs (Aux In and Return 1) for the Duet guitar? Your partner has 2 guitar inputs and no vocal input? Also, you only need to use the Return 1 (not Send 1) for your Duet Vocal (assuming you just made a typo in the above).) This would leave Send 1 available for use. But as you describe you could use Send 2 just as well.
  3. The POD Go models are the same as the Helix models. Here’s a helpful site that will explain the underlying real gear, and in most cases provide you with a link for further details such as manuals: https://helixhelp.com/
  4. That’s not been my experience. I got my JTV-59 when they first came out and still use it almost exclusively. In fact I tend to pick up my rebuilt Warmoth Variax 300 more often than my vintage Les Paul Deluxe which, sadly, has sat in its case for most of the last 10 years.
  5. Try using the ‘Extract Files From Backup’ feature in HX Edit. Select the backup file that was created when you updated the firmware, and select IR files for extraction. I believe this will produce a folder containing the IR files that are contained in the backup file. Compare the contents of this folder to the set of IR files listed in HX Edit. That should identify the missing ones. Then locate the missing ones on your computer and drag/drop them into the proper IR slots in HX Edit. Of course, this doesn’t explain why the error message was generated. It’s possible that there is a structural issue with those IRs; they may be rejected again.
  6. No. The Helix Control communicates only with the Helix Rack. It will not control the DT25 in any way. You could control the DT25 with any floorboard MIDI controller or a MIDI compatible device such as the Line 6 HX FX. You would need to have your DT25 running the latest firmware and you’d have a bit of a learning curve if you’re not already familiar with MIDI.
  7. It's time to open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 tech support. https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  8. Sounds to me there may be different and incompatible versions of the Line 6 drivers in play. I would proceed as follows: - register your new Helix to your Line 6 account (not really necessary but helpful for any subsequent support issues) - uninstall all Line 6 stuff on your PC. You will find an uninstaller package on your PC - if you want to make backups of your existing setlists download and install HX Edit v2.30. Don’t install v3.15 yet. Make your v2.30 backups. - download and install HX Edit v3.15 and follow the detailed installation instructions, including the factory reset and backup file restoration - if necessary manually import the setlists saved from v2.30 - restart your Helix to force a rebuild of all presets to ensure compatibility with the latest firmware
  9. In order to have the Looper continue to work when switching among presets you need to have the same type of Looper block added to all associated presets. (See manual pg 34). You say that Preset 3 has the Looper, presumably meaning that Presets 1 and 2 don't have it. That explains why you don't have access to the Looper in Presets 1 and 2. Try adding the Looper block to Presets 1 and 2. Then experiment with the results.
  10. The only difference in all the JTV models as well as the Standard and Shuriken, US or otherwise, is in the physical build. The modeling is the same in all of them. The sounds of the models are more than 'pretty similar to each other'; they're identical. Each model has its own set of mag pickups and they do sound different.
  11. Setting the main output volume at a high level provides a good signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio, delivering a strong clear signal to the receiving device. By that reasoning the best signal is achieved by maxing out the volume knob. But like you, I like to leave some in reserve. I tend to keep the knob at about 3 o’clock for a good compromise. Still a good strong and clean signal. You need to keep your main output volume level in mind when balancing your preset volumes. You shouldn’t put yourself in a situation where you have to adjust the main knob very often.
  12. The purpose of a global EQ is that it is, well, … global - meaning you don’t need to change it per preset. The idea is that you would use the Global EQ if you bring your POD Go to a new venue where you won’t be using your powered monitors. You can adjust the EQ once, for all presets, to suit the different monitors. You already have a preset EQ block and you can add another one or more as an FX block if you want. Also, in Global Settings you can arrange for the Amp Out jack to be tapped before the Cab/IR block, so you can place an EQ block after the Cab/IR to affect only the Main outputs.
  13. Did you buy it from Line 6 directly or from a retailer? In the latter case, it’s easy to put a returned unit back in the box and reseal the sticky tape.
  14. That is incorrect. Use HX Edit. Correct. HX Edit detected that your device was up to date at 3.15.
  15. A firmware update, by itself, does not affect the existing presets in your Helix device. If you have no stock factory presets after the update it means they weren’t there before the update. If you want to restore the factory presets you need to perform a factory restore on the device after the firmware is updated, as is recommended in the update instructions. Of course this will replace all presets on the device so before you do that make sure you backup any setlists or presets you want to restore again after the factory reset.
  16. Every preset has a fixed selection of amp, cab, and FX blocks. So you can’t switch amp models between snapshots; a preset can have only one amp model. Snapshots allow you to change virtually any parameter settings for all of the amp/FX blocks. So you can arrange to have tones from clean to crunch to heavy distortion by adjusting associated settings on those blocks in the snapshots.
  17. Note that a firmware update leaves all existing presets in place. They’re not replaced until/unless you do the recommended factory reset after the update.
  18. The New Preset name is the name assigned in the factory setlist, so that’s normal. However they are empty in their factory state. If you have a New Preset that has amp/FX blocks in it that may mean your device is not brand new. Depending on where you bought it it’s possible that it was a demo unit or returned under warranty. That’s not necessarily a problem if it’s behaving properly. You can always perform a factory reset to make sure all presets are restored to their factory state.
  19. I presume you mean the Catalyst Edit program? Hit the Downloads tab at the top of this page. Then select Catalyst Edit in the Software (middle) data field.
  20. What Line 6 product are you using? More recent products don’t use Monkey.
  21. Line 6 Updater is still required. It runs in the background when called on by HX Edit. The HX Edit package that you download includes several components that are installed (drivers, Line 6 Updater, and the HX Edit program itself). This ensures that the latest compatible versions of each are installed and used for the firmware update. You don’t need to be aware of the Updater program anymore but it’s still used. Was your updated firmware installed successfully? You should have both firmware and HX Edit at v3.15 now.
  22. I could provide a lengthy irrelevant answer but the short answer is the update procedure has changed. As I said, download and install HX Edit v3.15. Follow the detailed instructions.
  23. Well, first thing to do next time is follow the installation instructions. If you ran Line 6 Updater you didn’t do that. Turn your device off and try to reinstall following the instructions. You start by downloading and installing HX Edit. Your device may now be in a state where that won’t work properly but if so come back with further information about exactly what happened.
  24. Are you sure the Drive parameter is assigned to the Snapshots controller?
  25. There’s no ‘right’ answer. Experiment with all your options and decide what sounds best to you.
