  1. You can change the footswitch display and behaviour in the global settings. It seems the default setting, established by the firmware update, is not what you had/want. Reset it back to what you want.
  2. You can't delete a snapshot, just like you can't delete a preset. What you can do is copy snapshots to rearrange/replace them. So if you currently have a preset with different sounding snapshots and you want only one sound, select the snapshot/sound you want and copy that snapshot into all other snapshot locations, 1-8. Or.... SAVE the preset with the snapshot you want selected and then never change snapshots when using that preset.
  3. I would never tell you to shut up, spikey! I enjoy your particular style of drivel ;-). But you’ll never get a tuner in the editor.....
  4. Actually, anything we say here has absolutely zero impact on the timing of the release. It will be released when Line 6 considers it ready for release - not an hour sooner or later - whether or not any threads like this exist. So we can all keep our mouths opened or closed. Doesn't matter in the least.
  5. It sounds like you have the Toneport UX1. That hardware may include a license for the original Pod Farm product, called simply Pod Farm not Pod Farm 2. Yuo can download Pod Farm from the Downloads section of this website (see link at top of this page). Select it in the Software drop-down menu on the Downloads page.
  6. I don't know exactly how long the lag is in terms of milliseconds, but it's long enough to be noticeable. Avoid doing it in the middle of a song, or do it at a point in the song where it will not be out of place (e.g. when other band members are backfilling the sound as you prepare to launch into a lead solo).
  7. Yeah - me too. I think software development is probably the reason this software release isn't ready.... ;-)
  8. 1. Have you tried the 'Lock Tone 2' feature? 3. I don't think there's any way, other than to use a completely empty Tone (i.e. no amps/FX present in the signal path). That path will only involve the A/D and D/A conversions at the beginning and end of the path.
  9. I believe the Input Control appears only in the Plug-In version of Pod Farm (which is indicated in the manual/picture you quote). It is not available in the stand-alone version (your bottom picture).
  10. ... which only begs the question: "what is A/D converter clipping?". Should that then also be explained in the manual? A technical manual involves lots of decisions about what sort of general knowledge vs. product specific information should be included. Line 6 determines that, not you or me. Your quote from pg 52 of the manual is not incorrect information and hence does not need 'correction'. It's just a different editorial decision on the part of Line 6.
  11. ... or, you could update and then roll back if you don't like it.
  12. If you have the VDI cable connected you don't need the battery. Take it out. You should not have both the VDI and regular guitar cable connected simultaneously (except when using the Workbench interface, but that's not a VDI cable).

Just to manage expectations - Line 6 has previously stated that manuals will be updated only with 'major' releases. A major release is an increase of the integer portion of the release number. The next manual update will coincide with firmware release v3.0, not v2.x.
  14. Yes - it can be assigned. If you're using the device to edit, go to the 2nd edit page of the Input block. If you're using HX Edit all parameters will be visible at once.
  15. First, your Variax needs to be connected via the VDI connection, not the 1/4" jack. Secondly you need to assign the desired Vaariax parameter (e.g. model) to the Snapshot Controller - just like any other parameter you want to control using snapshots.
  16. The lag does not depend on any difference or similarity in the structure of the presets. It is caused by the processing time required to copy the patch definition from one memory location (permanent storage or cloud) to another (the Edit buffer where the current patch is overwritten). No sound is heard during this process; only after the new patch is loaded can the DSP engine process it and produce sound again. A patch definition is likely a fixed block of memory (a fixed block size is more time-efficient than managing the permanent memory dynamically). It's a specific number of bits/bytes - whether it is 'empty' or 'full' of amp/FX blocks. The minimum lag time is defined by the processor speed and the patch memory size plus any overhead of starting the DSP engine again. The lag time will be increased by an unspecified amount (depends on internet connection speed and reliability) when the patch definition needs to be retrieved from the cloud rather than the Firehawk's permanent storage before being loaded into the edit buffer.
  17. There are many things in a downloaded preset that might cause no sound in your setup. Check things like: - Input: the downloaded preset might be designed for Variax guitar (Variax/Mags input setting), non-Variax guitar (Guitar input setting), vocals (mic input setting), etc. - FX Loop: as described above by phil_m - Vol pedal: saved setting = 0 - Output: assigned to something other than your connections .... and some other things..... There's probably nothing wrong with either your setup/device, or the preset - just mismatched settings somewhere.
  18. HaHa! I thought the C&C reference might trigger some memories among those of us who enjoy a certain 'maturity' .... and I use the term loosely.
  19. Dave's not here.... No - I'm Dave. Open the door! What? - Sorry - Dave's not here.....
  20. Right - that always happens!! :-) You already know exactly how this will go down..... V2.8 is released to mostly positive reviews, with a few people pointing out how their favorite feature is not included (e.g. a tuner in HX Edit). Then things will be focused on the few inevitable bugs (How on earth did this get through beta testing?? Bunch of losers!) and a bug fix release v2.81 within a month or so. By September the first 'When is v2.9 (better yet, v3.0) coming and what's in it?' thread will be posted and off we go again.... The circle of life among L6 customers.
  21. Very soon now. V2.8 is expected by June 21 or thereabouts.
  22. A 'block' is any signal processing element in the path. An amp is a block, an FX selection is a block, a VOL pedal is a block, an Input/Output element is a block, etc. Each block requires some amount of signal processing (DSP) capacity ; some blocks require more, others less. By 'running out of blocks' we mean not having sufficient DSP capacity remaining to add more blocks. Some devices have dynamic DSP management, meaning you can add blocks freely until the capacity is reached. Others ensure that the capacity is never reached by limiting the number of blocks allowed.
  23. Maybe, maybe not. But they probably are deciding to buy based on the feature set and specs as well as price. And it still does what it's advertised to do - and does it very well. And if the price point weren't deemed to be good people would stop buying it. And then Line 6 would stop selling it. What's the problem?
  24. You'll find a link to CustomTone at the top of this page.
