By default the tuner Input is set to Multi, wiich includes the Guitar, Aux and Variax physical inputs. If you are using a different input set the Tuner to match.
-
In your Helix preset, try setting the Output block to USB 5&6. This will send the processed signal on 5/6 matching your DAW input selection.

Yes, use Line 6 Monkey to update your device firmware if necessary. First you will need to download and install the Line 6 driver. After updating, download and install the HD Edit program to make back up copies of your setlists and presets, and also to edit presets on your computer as an alternative to using the device itself.

There have been many updates and improvements to the POD HD since its initial release. You can anticipate a great sound but you will find you need to invest more time in learning how to create those sounds. The XT/X3 can sound good with minimal effort. The HD can sound much better but needs more work to get there.
-
You speak of comparing the XT, X3 and HD only in terms of the number and type of FX. You may also want to consider the quality of the modeling and resulting sounds. The POD HD series is clearly better in that regard than the XT and X3 which are both based on older modeling technology. I would choose the POD HD with fewer but better quality amps and FX over the XT/X3 with more but inferior models.

How do I move footswitches in "Edit" software--e.g. FS1 to FS3

What Line 6 device and what Edit program are you using? -
4CM ISSUE: stomps after return signal are not working
silverhead replied to Cghoward's topic in Helix
Are you sure the Return block is activated in the preset? -
Download and install the Line 6 driver. Connect Helix Stomp to your computer via USB. Make sure Reason is configured to use the HX Stomp device and its ASIO driver as its audio device for both recording and playback. Connect your speakers/monitors to the HX Stomp outputs. If stuttering occurs experiment with the buffer sizes in the driver properties.

While I am a moderator I think I will leave the decision on where this post belongs to Line 6 because I think it falls in a grey area. The title of this area is Promote Your Patches and that's what I think you're doing. However, I believe this area is intended to be a space where people can promote the patches they are selling rather than offering for free. Since yours are being offered for free there's nothing against you placing this post in the general Helix forum. The other promoters here can't do that under the Terms of Use, which is why this special place was created. Your post might also get more visibility in the general forum because people visiting here expect to be paying. Anyone looking for free stuff may not come here. In in any case your generosity is appreciated.

STAGE SOURCE SPEAKERS DISCOUNTIUNED
silverhead replied to bobwysol's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I have the M20d, 1 L3s sub, and 2 L3t mains. The system sounds great and I've never had any issues with the equipment. If I wanted a bigger system right now I would buy more L3 speakers and add on rather than start from scratch with a new manufacturer. That's why I would buy more, discontinued or not. My Helix Rack sounds fantastic through these speakers. -
Mute The Main Out Only

If there's an ability to do this in the firmware I haven't found it yet. -
STAGE SOURCE SPEAKERS DISCOUNTIUNED
silverhead replied to bobwysol's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
When Line 6 went under Yahama's umbrella a couple of years ago it seems Yamaha decided that there would be no further development of the Line 6 StageScape/Stagesource mixer and speaker products. The Stagesource speakers are not likely going to be replaced with a new Line 6 product ever, let alone anytime soon. These Line 6 technologies are now in Yamaha's hands to integrate (or not) into Yamaha products. If you're looking for the next digital mixer/speaker based on Line 6 technology look at Yamaha products. -
Mute The Main Out Only
silverhead replied to steverubble's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Yeah - I've also wished for a Mute button on the Main Outs for the same reason. The workaround I've used is to physically disconnect the Main Out cables, or turn off the Main speakers themselves when desired. -

First I've heard of this. Can you point us to where you saw an announcement? -
Saving Bundles, Setlists etc. from Helix edit to Helix hardware.
silverhead replied to kjschultz's topic in Helix
You don't need to specifically save the presets to the Helix Rack device. The HX Edit program and the Helix device are fully synchronized - once imported into the Edit program the presets are also stored on the device. -
Pocket Pod Broken? Loud Static
silverhead replied to iainlclarke's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Since it's brand new you should be able to return it for replacement or refund. -
A greyed out menu item generally means it is not selectable because there is insufficient DSP available in the preset for its selection. In this case it indicates that the preset was already very near the maximum DSP capacity of Helix, and removing the VOL block did not free up sufficient DSP for the more DSP-demanding distortion block. Not sure that this is the case with the first factory preset but it is the most likely explanation.

Open a support ticket and Line 6 technical support will fix the registration problem for you. To open the ticket follow the Support link at the top of this page. There are some French speaking users here but it may take a while to get a response in French. Meanwhile here is a translation of my suggestion....... Ouvrez un ticket de support et le support technique de Line 6 résoudra le problème de votre enregistrement. Pour ouvrir le ticket, suivez le lien Support en haut de cette page.

Thanks for the link. I had missed that discussion.

Thanks. So it's well documented non-reproducible issue that may boil down to an incorrect setting? @pb-272... is this what you are referring to?
-
That's not ringing any bells with me. Can you provide a link to the issue?

Snapshots - only need 5, how to make the others do nothing?
silverhead replied to HerbM's topic in Helix
No. There are always 8 snapshots and they are always associated with the 8 foot switches (or 4 depending on your display mode). You can use some or all of the available snapshots while leaving some or all of them undifferentiated. I'm not sure what it would mean to have a Snapshot do 'absolutely nothing'. Do you mean there would be no sound at all from the device, like a mute switch? If not, what sound would you like it to make if not a copy of an existing Snapshot? if you make a mistake with your footswitches and end up with the Intro Snapshot, does it really matter whether you've mistakenly hit one of switches 6-8 or switch 1 (the assigned Intro Snapshot)? Either way you've hit the wrong switch and get an unintended result. Similarly, if you hit the wrong switch you can sometimes end up in a whole new preset. Sometimes when I'm playing a guitar solo I pluck the wrong string and get a bad note. Not the guitar's fault! And I can't set the guitar to ignore all strings except the right one. Can't do it with footswitches on Helix either. -
When the Helix Stomp is connected via USB it becomes your computer's soundcard. All audio produced by your computer will be routed to the Helix and heard at the Helix audio outputs. So yes, all sound producing programs running on your computer will be heard through headphones or speakers connected to the Helix. By the way - HX Edit does not produce sound. It sends and receives commands over USB to the Helix device. The audio is produce by the Helix device, not by your computer.
-
I suspect the issue is mostly in the playback system you are using and the volume levels feeding it. What is your Helix LT master volume set at, and what are its outputs connected to? Please describe each component in your playback chain, from the LT output jacks to your ears.

I think a full system backup using HX Edit (not a bundle or series of setlists) includes the IRs as well as Global Settings. So if you want to be able to have everything as it was after a firmware update create a system backup first and then restore it.
