  1. 2) I think you're talking about something called FX 'trails'. There is a setting in the Setup menus that allows you to specify whether you want the trails on or off. However this only applies within a preset. There is no ability to have the FX trails continue when you switch presets.
  2. You can cancel a recording by starting a new one - even if it's silence for 1 ms. The trick is to start/stop the recording in tempo. The looper has no concept of beats or tempo. It simply starts and stops on command, when you press the footswitches. It's up to you to define the beats.
  3. What needs to be 'fixed'? It's working as designed.
  4. For consistency over time, it's best to ensure that one of the two FX blocks is in the ON state and the other in the OFF state when you SAVE the preset. The state at that time is more significant than the state when you assign the switch, because those states could change before you hit SAVE. Save the preset in the state in which you want it recalled. In other words, which FX do you want ON when you recall the preset? Turn that one on, and the other off, then SAVE.
  5. Yes, that's correct. In terms of creating pod presets you need to think about: - which amp you want to use. If the Firehawk amp, use the preamp model and do not assign a cab/mic. If you include the FX Loop in the preset turn it off. If you want to use the Blackstar amp do not assign any Firehawk amp, cab or mic; just use its FX. You must include the FX Loop and turn it on. - FX Loop placement in your signal chain. Place it where you want relative to all amp/FX assignments, based on which FX blocks you want in the pre vs. post amp position. The Pod FX Loop represents the Blackstar preamp (guitar in). The Pod main output represents the Blackstar power amp and cab.
  6. Any headphones will do. Avoid earbuds. Of course some, like high impedance headphones, will be better than others. If headphones are going to be your main listening method I would recommend spending more than $50 rather than less, and getting open backed (or semi-open) rather than closed back phones.
  7. Yes to both. Once you connect the Pod to your computer via usb the Pod becomes your computer's soundcard. You will no longer hear anything through the built-in laptop speakers.
  8. The reason the sounds are different is that in one case you are hearing only the Firehawk amp model and in the other case you are hearing two different amps - the Firehawk amp model and the physical Blackstar amp. It rarely sounds good to send the output of one amp into the guitar input of a second amp. What you need to do is try to minimize the signal processing that your Blackstar amp is providing. One way to do this, if the Blackstar supports it, is to bypass the Guitar Input on your Blackstar. If the Blackstar has a Line In, FX Return, or Poweramp In jack anywhere, connect your Firehawk output to that input. In this case you should also research something called 4CM (four cable method) for maximum flexibility on signal routing. If you are forced to use the Guitar In jack then set the Blackstar to be as neutral as possible. Certainly use the clean, not driven, channel. Turn off any FX the Blackstar might offer (e.g reverb). Set the Tone controls to be as neutral as possible. This will take some experimentation.
  9. What I do in this situation is copy the Amp+Cab block and place the copy in another spot in the signal chain, usually some where down in Path 2 to avoid confusion. Then replace the original Amp+Cab with separate Amp and Cab blocks positioned wherever you want them. Now toggle back and forth between the copied block and the new blocks to manually recreate the settings. I find this faster than writing down the original settings. Saves paper and ink/lead too!! Edit: Forgot to mention the obvious - when finished you delete the redundant Amp+Cab block.....
  10. Go to the Downloads section of this website (under the Support tab at top of this page). Select Line 6 Updater in the Software field (you don't need any selection in the Products field).
  11. I would update or reinstall the firmware by following these instructions. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifi-products/ampl/how-to-update-amplifi-3075150fx100tt-with-w-r701
  12. Sorry - no. I really wish it could because I have wanted to do that or something similar at different times. But the device can not overdub - no ability to playback and record at the same time. It's designed to do a single-take full recording of all channels at a time, or a playback of all channels at a time. You can't create a playback mix to overdub on the M20d. You would need all band members to re-perform and re-record everything. What you want to do needs to be done on your multi-track computer-based DAW. You would need to import the recorded Main Mix file from the M20d SD card to your computer/DAW and have the bass guitarist take it from there with normal DAW recording. Of course, that generally can't happen on-site with your late-arriving bass guitarist unless you carry your DAW with you.
  13. Make sure that in your DAW you are selecting the stereo signal (1&2) as the input source for the track being recorded.
  14. That's odd. Monitor levels are saved as part of a Setup, according to the documentation: "An M20d Setup, as mentioned on Page 2•4, is defined as the current configuration of all your inputs and outputs, FX and channel settings, levels, mutes, pans, monitor levels, footswitch assignments, L6 LINK settings and your stage icon layout, which represents your onstage gear." For Scenes it says this: "A Scene is essentially a snapshot of all your settings within the current Setup. These include settings for processor and FX parameters, channel levels, mute, solo, pan position and monitor send levels. You can store up to 32 Scenes within a Setup." The difference I can see regarding monitors is that a Setup saves overall monitor levels while a Scene saves the Monitor Send levels for each channel but not the overall level. Check the overall monitor output level (not the channel send level) when saving the setup. Note also that loading a Setup causes the device Output Level (master fader) to be reset to zero. This probably also causes your monitor output level to be zero as well. So the relative balance between monitor and master output levels is saved, but both are zero when you load any Setup. Your saved relative monitor level should be audible as you increase the master output level.
  15. What versions of Helix firmware and app software are you using? The latest compatible versions are firmware v1.06.0 and app v1.03.
  16. 200%?? What is that in KHz? How fast will my fingers be going?
  17. That's right. The sentence should probably say "Press and hold down footswitches 9 & 10 while powering on Helix."
  18. No need to test it - the manual is clear enough. The operation will time out after 5 seconds. But you can organize your preset locations so that you won't need to switch banks. If your solo preset is in the same bank as your rhythm preset you won't need to 'prepare' for the preset change. It's not difficult to move presets around and place them in a more convenient location for your switching preferences.
  19. Are you using Line 6 Updater? It is designed to download and install the update for you.
  20. Yes, that's the only connection you need. Benefit: you can store the L2 speaker mode in the POD HD preset, meaning you can use Reference/PA mode for acoustic tones and Electric Guitar mode for others. Not a big deal IMHO but some use it. Electric Guitar mode is best used with a pre (not full) amp model on the HD preset and with no cab/mic selection. The L2 speaker becomes the power amp and cab. Drawback: you lose the ability to use the HD cd/MP3 input because that input signal is not converted to digital within the HD and hence can't be passed via L6 Link to the speaker. However, you can easily connect the cd/MP3 input source to another of the speaker's inputs. While neither a benefit nor drawback, there is another noticeable difference. The volume of the L6 Link output seems much higher than either the XLR or 1/4" outputs. You will likely need to dial down the volume control on either the Pod or the speaker.
  21. I have moved this thread to the Firehawk forum. I doubt that there will be a forum specific to the 1500 device. Discussions for both devices can take place here.
  22. Glad to help, SMOOVEONE. Now get to work on being the player you hope to be!
  23. Do you mean you can't get it to work as documented, or that it works as documented but just doesn't meet your expectations?
  24. It sounds like your looper is in PRE position. You want it in POST position. Note that the looper display for the footswitches highlights what WILL happen when you hit the switch, not the current state. In other words, if the display highlights the word POST, that means the looper is currently in the PRE position and you need to hit the switch to move it to POST, at which point the word PRE will be highlighted. Go figure! The best way to see it's current state/position is in the signal flow view/display of the home page. The looper FX will appear either at the beginning (PRE) or end (POST) of the signal flow view.
