This sounds like an electrical interference problem, maybe related to the power in your home/studio. You say you've tried a different power socket. Try another power socket that you know is on a different circuit in your local power panel. If that doesn't work, try experimenting with the same equipment and setup in your friend's house/location. Since he/she is not having an issue, by testing your equipment there you can determine whether it's a problem with your equipment or with your local power supply.

Recommended ASIO4ALL settings for Pod Farm?
silverhead replied to Radaniel9's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
The ASIO driver comes with a hardware device, not with Pod Farm software. Again, what audio interface (hardware device) are you using? In other words, what device are you connecting your guitar to when recording/playing with Pod Farm? -
You should be able to connect the outputs of the M9 to the inputs of whatever audio interface you use for recording and then simply record the playback of the loop.

Helix FW 1.04.1 (and Helix App 1.02) Now Available
silverhead replied to Digital_Igloo's topic in Helix
Try reinstalling the previous version of the app and using that to backup your current presets. Then update both app and firmware as per documented procedures. -
That's all I was doing - trying to offer some guidance. How was that not a supportive answer? You hadn't mentioned (until now) that you have already checked that out. I think the fact that Cubase is not a Line 6 product is very relevant. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of what I think should be a more informative source of info. Had I known you had already done so I wouldn't have suggested it. Hope you find the info you're looking for.

Helix FW 1.04.1 (and Helix App 1.02) Now Available
silverhead replied to Digital_Igloo's topic in Helix
I don't have Helix so can't test this out, but as I read DI's info it says that you need to use the new app v1.02 to RESTORE the previously backed up presets. It does not say that you need to use the new app to create the backup. I would think it makes most sense to use the old app with the old firmware to backup and then the new app with the new firmware to restore. Any clarification on this from other users who have already backed up and restored? Which version of the app did you use to make the backup before updating? -
That would be in the global settings. Hold down the View button for a few seconds to access the Settings menu pages. Use the right arrow to scroll through the pages until you see the MIDI page(s). The setting you are looking for should be there.

L2T's - two questions
silverhead replied to bobwootton's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
1) Can't pan the 2 mono input channels of the L2t mixer. That's about the only thing I don't like about this mixer. The rear panel stereo inputs will retain the stereo field defined by the external source. 2) L2m is identical except for the mixer. Should work just as well as a monitor without the mixer. -
We can hope! Last indication from DI was today, which means around 5PM Pacific time or earlier.

Recommended ASIO4ALL settings for Pod Farm?
silverhead replied to Radaniel9's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
What audio interface are you using? If it's a Line 6 device my advice is to use the Line 6 ASIO driver, not asio4all. -
Make sure you have assigned the Wah FX to the correct EXP setting - EXP-1 or EXP-2. The lights on the pedal show the default settings (I believe that's Wah=EXP-1 and Vol=EXP-2). Note that the Exp Toe switch not only activates the Wah FX but also toggles the active EXP. In your case, the pedal does nothing because after depressing the Toe switch the pedal is controlling the Vol, not Wah. This means that your pedal should be in the Vol (EXP-2) position (not Wah EXP-1) when you save the preset with the Wah FX Off. Then, when you recall the preset, the Wah will be Off and the pedal will have EXP-2 (Vol) active. Now pressing the Toe Switch will both activate the Wah FX and also switch the active pedal to EXP-1, which will now control the sweep of the Wah.

Use headphones as a starting point for debugging. Check the Input settings in your preset to make sure they match your physical inputs. Also make sure you did the after-update procedures - reset global parameters. See video.

Under the Support tab at top of this page you will see a link called Downloads. After that you will be able to download a utility called Line 6 Monkey. Install that program on your computer. Connect your POD HD Pro to you computer via USB. Run Line 6 Monkey. It will tell you what software needs to be updated and it will guide you through the update process. For step-by-step procedures check this out: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/video-tutorialpod-hd-series-flash-memory-upda-r209

Are you running the latest firmware? I ask because your issue #2 is a known issue that was fixed in firmware some time ago. Run Line 6 Monkey with your HD Pro connected to check/update. If you need to update make sure you back up your presets first and choose to replace all presets during the update process.
-
That's correct. Each preset has to be set up with the specific set of FX that you want, and their respective parameters set identically. The best way to do this is to figure out your FX and all settings first, in one preset. Then you can copy that preset (all FX and settings will be retained in the copy) to another location and edit just the amp. Inevitably, of course, you will later decide to change something involving the FX. Unfortunately you will have to make that change in all presets.
-
Yes, that's correct. I did not know you were not using the app. Note that it's the very first point in Varialogue1's instructions that I thought you had followed. There's no point in having the library available outside the app because there is no other way to load the tone into the Firehawk device to hear/play it. As for the duplicate tones, all I can say is that when I re-save an existing tone in My Tones it overwrites the previous version as expected. It does not creat a duplicate.
-
The first part of his post should locate/recall your saved tone. If the file/tone name isn't working try searching under your username (name of tone creator). Make sure you have the most recent software (device firmware and mobile app) and that you are connected to the Internet and logged into your Line 6 account. If you still can't find it I would open a support ticket with Line 6.

Will this work? Guitar > POD > Headphone amp > Headphones?
silverhead replied to Cerebrus's topic in POD HD
Sure that will work. Your PC does not need to be connected. I would try using the headphones connected directly to the POD first, then use the amp if you think it would help. -
1 & 3: Not sure what "web portal" you are referring to. If it's Customtone, that's a different library than the The Tone Library used in Firehawk/AMPLIFi. 2: Are you running the latest firmware?

I was thinking AC/DC, as in You Shook Me......

No. That's not possible right now. It may be added in a future update but there's been no promise about that.

Saving POD HD500 EDIT DO NOT TRANSFER PRESETS TO POD HD500
silverhead replied to raz_klinghoffer's topic in POD HD
After tweaking the preset you need to use the Edit program's Send Selected command to download the changes to the HD500 device. -
Ask the seller to delete the UX1 from his/her account. Then you will be able to register it to your account. While logged in to his/her account the seller should visit their profile, view their registered gear, and select Remove button beside the UX1. Once registered to your account you will be able to download and use Pod Farm (the license is tied to the UX1 device). There is a procedure that the seller must follow to transfer the Metal Pack license. Search the FAQs to find this procedure.

You could back up factory presets by Saving them one at a time to My Tones. You can also restore all factory presets at any time: Q: How can I reset the FIREHAWK FX to its default settings? A: To perform a factory reset and restore the FIREHAWK FX to factory settings, press and hold the Master Volume knob and the TAP button as you power up the unit. Unfortunately, any patches not backed up to My Tones prior to the reset will be lost.
