Hey guys, I have a bit of a puzzle I’m working out. I have the Helix Rack and Control in our studio. We have about 50 pedals of various types that we’ve decided to rack mount instead of display them. Artists and producers spend so much time working in a pedal for the workflow. We now have 4 rjm effect gizmos in 2 racks with 5 shelves each. We also plan on getting an 2 Ampete Switchers to switch our heads and cabs. As most of you are aware, the Helix has only 10 foot switches available per preset for this mostly midi-based configuration . We’d want to be able to bypass toggle a pedal on any shelf to audition sounds in a chain via Midi Cc toggle. Unfortunately, 10 foot switches per preset is very limiting in our case. We do use Helix effects and IRs. We love the snapshots in recall mode and use those, but switching presets doesn’t have that recall feature and midi just returns to the saved midi cc toggle state. So we couldn’t use presets as “pages” effectively. ——————————— 3 options to solve this: Option 1 is allowing presets to not automatically clear the midi cc toggle state. Option 2 is to save midi presets with Midi CC data in a block to recall on any preset. Then we can build custom midi cc chains without the use of a spreadsheet Option 3 is to allow “footswitch pages” so we can add as many items to footswitches as we like by paging within a preset. Then snapshots can be used with all of our pedals and not just 10. Other options that I’m aware of are the Morningstar MC8 or RJM Mastermind gt22. Both of these devices have foot switches pages to pair with the Helix Control. We could control the Helix via midi with these units. We are also considering the mastermind GT22 to do this work, but it seemed a shame to add another large foot switch to the space. Any thoughts or options I’m missing here? You’re help would be greatly appreciated.

Im new to Helix, and will like to set up my Helix Control (and rack) so I can toggle between snapshot mode and stomp mode on the FS6 on the Helix control. At the moment I only have the option to toggle between stomp and preset mode. I can enter the snapshot mode by pressing both bank button at once, but then I can not toggle back to Stomp mode. And here a wishing list, that might not be possible: 1. is it possible to assign 2x8 blocks to the stomp mode, giving me the possibility to toggle between the first 8 and the second 8 bloks with, say, the "bank buttons" 2. is there any way to use the two Bank buttons for other use than Bank up and down?

Hi everyone ! I just need a little information for the helix control. On the user book they tell us to put a power supply (the line 6 DC-3G) with the helix control if the Cat Cable is too long. But i can't find it anywhere. Does the power supply of the pod HD 500x works ? Hi. I'm having trouble with my Helix Control. When i booted my rack unit up yesterday, the control also booted up in LCD Test mode. It switches between this and Update mode but never reverts back to presets. The rack is recognising this as having not been updated. I clicked update but it does nothing and just keep repeating, asking to update. I can't seem to get it out of the test mode so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Picture for reference

Hey Everyone!! I am wondering if the Helix Control outputs general midi through the USB port like a standard USB midi controller and if so would that mean its possible to use it to control a daw as a stand-alone midi controller without the helix rack? Im just looking for a good midi controller that has scribble strips... and the helix control would be perfect for what I need!! if it sends midi. Also, would it be possible to edit the scribble strips without the helix rack? Thank, Cheers!

Twice this week my Helix Rack and Control froze and wouldn't change presets. Once during a rehearsal, and last night during a performance. Only thing that fixed it was powering off and then on. Not sure if it was same preset that froze or not. But I do know that the rack and control both read different presets. Signal was still coming through so I was able to finish song, but why would it be freezing like that? I'm on latest firmware. I have 2 Helix Mission expression pedals plugged in to control. Any Ideas? I'm using all tones I've created and maybe 1 or 2 custom patches from other people, with IR's. I've read about the "rebuild all presets" feature but not sure what that does or if it would fix this particular bug. Thanks

Hello Line 6 forum users, I was hoping you could help advise me with a dilemma that I'm having. I want to take advantage of Line 6's promotional deal for a Mission Engineering expression pedal when purchasing a helix rack and control this month so I went to Guitar Center (as I believe they are a licensed Line 6 dealer) yesterday to do so when they informed me that the earliest that a helix rack would be able to be shipped would be on the 27th of February as they didn't have one in store. I'm concerned that while I could get a receipt today, the 20th of February, showing I purchased a helix I wouldn't have the physical unit until perhaps March, when the promotion would have expired, and consequently if the serial number was needed to register the unit (as I assume it is) that I would miss the window of the promotion. Is it possible that there may be a way that even if my unit doesn't arrive during the promotional period that I could still receive a Mission Engineering expression pedal if I had proof of purchase during the promotional period? I have attempted to contact Line 6 through both repeated calls today and yesterday to the 1 (818) 575-3600 phone number they have listed as well as through a Facebook message but have yet to receive a reply. I understand that their customer service isn't listed as being open during the weekends and, while they are shown to be available on Mondays, that today is Presidents' Day in the United States so it's understandable that they may not be at work. Ideally I'd be purchasing the helix rack and control today from Guitar Center in order to take advantage of their Presidents' Day discounts but if possible I'd like to get confirmation on whether I would be able to receive the Mission Engineering expression pedal as well.
