I'm using a Helix for all my live sounds and I've recently started experimenting with setting up my pan in the Helix itself so I don't have to rely on the sound guys to do it. I'm using two cabinets on all my presets and I pan them hard left and right and then I use the output block for my overall panning. So based on parts of the songs, I've got my main output from the Helix going either fully to the right for harmony & doubled parts, dead center for lead, and hard left-right for when I'm the rhythm guitar and the other guy is doin lead. Is there a way to achieve this on the other guitarist's rig? He uses a POD Go and I've been able to set up the centered lead and the full left for harmony and doubled parts, but I can't figure out if it's possible to split his signal left-right the way I do with the Helix? On my rig it's different from keeping both cabs centered and lowering the volume, since if they're hard left-right they don't mix together, but since he has only one cab would a centered sound with a volume cut be the way to go? Ideally I want to be able to push his sound very wide and in the background so there is space for it but it doesn't fight with my lead in the center.

Hey all - How do I wire up a Helix, a Mesa Mark VII and a Powercab 112+ to create a stereo rig, while properly using the effects loops? Is it actually possible, or do I need to get a cheapie amp with an effects loop to replace the Powercab? Clearly neither the 4 or 7 cable methods work; is this maybe a 5 or 6 cable setup? I'm a little stumped. Mods: cross posted to Powercab. If one or the other is inappropriate, please delete at your discretion.

Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone can help me ... So live, I currently automate snapshot settings using CC#69 (I believe) using the laptop in Cubase. I was just wondering is there any way to also change presets / banks using midi messages? Can't seen to find a clear answer searching google and the forums. My plan was to have my helix set out like a setlist so each preset would be named after a song then each song would have it's own sounds and fx etc. But I need it all to be fully automated with the laptop as we play to a click with iems etc. TIA Mike \m/

I have my first gig coming up since I've had the Helix and I would like to start setting up some patches. I had an HF Effects previously and am confident about setting up 4CM with my amp, but I would like to set up a seperate DI output to the PA that also has an amp and cab sim in that stream. I think I know how to do it but any tips or outright rules and advice would be appreciated. I don't have a PA to test this on at the moment but we will have one for rehearsals in a few weeks so I would like to have this roughly sorted before then. I have searched the forums but seems difficult to find, for me anyway. Thank you!

Gracias!

Hello line 6 folk I'd like to ask for some help/advice as a new helix LT user for a one-man band setup with in-ears and Frfr cab on stage. I’ve come up with a setup I think might work, but I’d like your advice/suggestions. I would sing and play guitar over home-made backing tracks with a click panned to left and backing-track to right I've seen some good vids on you tube but they either show a setup with the LT with no vocals, or a setup using the full Helix- which I don't have. I want to have backing track, live guitar, vocals and click in-ears, and everything except click for PA. It would be small clubs. The gear would be an IPAD, Helix LT, FRFR cab and a Behringer mixer e.g xenyx 802 Proposed setup for above: IPAD Click track to mixer Backing track (BT) to Helix via R1 (with R1 set at line level) so I can use its global EQ if needs be HELIX LT Path 1A · GTR in --- FX + amp and cab sim --- multi out (¼ out and XLR out) · ¼ out is at line level and sent to mixer line in. · XLR out at line level to FRFR cab. Path 2A · R1 input at start of path receiving backing track from IPAD at line level (hopefully IPAD is loud enough) then sent to mixer at line level from S1. (BT sent to Helix to enable Global EQ to a better extent than mixer EQ. Path 2B · R2 input at start of path as input receiving Vox from mixer at line level (hopefully mixer pre-amp is loud enough) · Add FX to Vox and use S2 to send Vox back to mixer at line level MIXER · Receiving click track from IPAD · Mic plugged in to XLR channel then sending raw Vox to Helix R2(using 1-click method ?), Fx added in Helix then sent back to mixer line-input via Helix S2. · Receiving BT from Helix via Helix’s S1 · Receiving live guitar from Helix ¼ out. · All tracks sent to mixer headphones out for in-ears. · All except click sent to PA via master out FRFR · Receiving guitar + FX + amp + cab sim via XLR out. Does this seem like it would work in practice? Any suggestions for improvements? Thanks very much.

Here is description how to make working live Helix Native 1.5 rig using laptop. I hope it will help someone. Operating system is Windows 10, Reaper 5 (64) is hosting Helix. Midi floorboard is Vox Tonelab LE. Four bottom switches of ToneLab are switchable to send either Program Changes or Control Changes. There is one Expression Pedal. MIDI OUT from Tonelab is conected to MIDI IN in NI Komplete Audio 6 interface on 64 samples buffer, 48kHz, 10ms Round Trip Latency. Laptop is equipped with two core i5-2430M CPU, 16GB RAM. Heavy presets using all HxN power are giving about 15% of CPU load monitored by Windows Task Manager. Tonelab controls HxN automation Knobs, Switches and Snaphot Indexes by assigning Track FX/FX/Param//FX Parameter List/Learn. This is described in this video: Preset Change's can not be assigned to ToneLab Program Changes using that method, but there are also Reaper "FX Presets" you can store and load. There is "+" menu and "Link to MIDI Program Change"/Channel 1. To switch presets on HxN audio track you have to create another MIDI track. It is described in this video: Incoming MIDI events for that MIDI track 2 must be routed to Track 1. Notice that Preset Changes are causing audio gap. This is why to archive gapless "pseudo amp channel swiching" with adjacent stompboxes and even cabs during playing, HxN snapshots just work better. One floorboard toogle switch sending off/on (0/127) Control Change value can switch between 1st and 8th HxN snapshot. Maybe Reaper "Actions" and "SWS Extensions" can be also helpful but I have no experience using them. I connected only MIDI out of my floorboard so switching it's toggle switches (and their diodes) state backwards is not possible. If you do your setup and save - it is "set and forget". Reaper (unlike eg Pro Tools) stores track arming and starts with last file loaded. Having it working from switching laptop on takes less than one minute.

Hi guys and gals! I have a Pod hd500x and I'm looking to lighten up my live gear. Before I was using an engl powerball and engl 4x12 and had the pod as effects, but the music that we play requires me to switch a bunch and with channel selecting on the amp and effect switching on the pod it got really crazy sometimes. So now I'm using the pod as pretty much my main tone (amp sim, cab sim, effects, etc.). I've since gotten rid of the engl as it was redundant to have the head, and the cab is a pain to lug around. So my question is does anyone have some recommendations for cabinets? If possible I wanna have a 2x12 with some power. Thanks!
