Hello everyone, I would like to know if it's necessary to adjust the sound card on "ext", before to record with the S/pdif connection. Indeed, with a gear like the Torpedo Live, it is recommended to do that. Thanks in advance for your help.

The overall volume is the Master Volume control. This is controlled by the "big knob" when the LEDs are red (the default state). All of the other volumes happen before this one and it's ultimately how you control the output level while keeping everything relatively balanced by using all of the other controls. This is a global control. The Guitar Volume happens just before the master and is how you balance the guitar level against the Bluetooth streaming audio that is coming into the unit. This is also a global control and is accessed by pressing the big knob until the LEDs are white. The Channel Volume is like a Master for just the amp, and it is stored with the patch. It adjusts the output level without affecting the tone (like the Gain control on the amps would). This is the control you use to level your presets relative to each other. The slightly quirky thing here is that it does live in the amp processing slot, so it happens in the signal chain before the post effects. In v1.1 firmware and later, pressing the big knob until the LEDs are pink acts as a short cut to accessing this control without the app. The Gain on the amp panel is the per-patch parameter that affects the tone of the amp - also referred to as Drive The Volume Pedal is an additional real-time control whose value is not saved with the patch. You can see in the app where it lives in the signal path. The Master control on HD amps is considered a deep edit parameter (like sag, hum, etc.) that is saved with the patch and is exclusive to HD amps. It's the output level of the preamp to the power amp. When you load one of these models, the stored value is right for that amp in the default state and it's usually best to leave it where it is unless you are going for a very specific effect.

Speaker Modes on 1500 These modes are accessible though the app. Bluetooth streaming audio is effected by the speaker mode selection as well. Mono; Top Horn, Center Speaker. Stereo; Left Coaxial, Center Speaker, Right Coaxial *Note A Limiter is present on this mode to maintain a full stereo image. You will not get full volume in this mode. Stereo Wide; Left Coaxial, Center Speaker, Top Horn, Right Coaxial.

Hey everyone, I find it difficult to adjust the overall output volume as I create my chain. Do you find best to start with your master output at 12 o'clock or at MAX? Pros & Cons?

Hi, I am not clear what the different volume knobs on the POD HD500X and in the deep editing section are doing. On the Pod, you have Drive (I guess that is how much signal is fed into the pre- amp section), Volume and Master. In the deep editing section, you have another Master Volume. Which one of those volumes is controlling how much signal is passed from the pre-amp section to the power amp and which volume knop regulates the signal which is going to the simulated speaker cabinet? How do those volumes relate to each other? Thanks

Should "Master" volume and "Drive" be on the same page? I submitted this suggestion to Ideascale and it has only been getting a moderate response. I am wondering how others perform the balancing act between the "Master" volume, "Drive", and "Ch Vol" parameters. Is my understanding of these parameters incorrect? I thought this suggestion would get quite a few votes: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Put-Master-volume-on-the-same-page-as-the-Drive-in-amp-model/788502-23508 To dial in the right amount of grit/distortion on any amp block you need to have the "Drive" and "Master" knobs on the same page just like a real amp. "Drive" and "Master" are highly interactive and require tweaking the two together. The "Ch Vol" is where the "Master" should be. Right now you have to page over every time you want to change the "Master" volume. This is akin to having to turn your amp around and adjust the back of your amp to set "Master" volume. It is the "Ch Vol" that should be set on the second page, and the "Master" volume should takes its place on the first page, so that it and the "Drive" can be adjusted together. The "Ch Vol" is the parameter you tend to "set and forget" once. The only reason I can see for leaving the "Ch Vol" on the first page is if you spend more time adjusting the "Ch Vol" as various effects and other blocks in the signal chain impact overall channel volume. Even if that is the case, having the "Drive" and "Master" volume on separate pages still causes dialing in the right volume to grit/drive ratio be a tedious process.

Hi. I have had my pod for about a month now and really like it and have learned my way around it, it's pretty easy to use. I have been using usb with my pod being the input and my audio interface being the output while recording with Logic Pro x. I would like to make use of the spdif and use that instead of usb, I won't get into why unless you want to know. So my gear is my 500x, a m-audio profire 610, and logic prox, I am using spdif now and it's working but I just want to know if I have it set up correctly. The sample rates match and are 44.1 and my interface is set to internal. When my interface is set to internal does that mean my interface is the master? And what should be the master? The pod or interface? Does it matter?

I'm having a volume issue with my Spider II 75w combo. I can't get the volume to go below loud. I've had this amp for years, and I could usually use the master volume knob to level the sound at 'won't wake the neighbors' level. Within the last few weeks, however, I can no longer get it to go below about 8/10 -- on any preset or not. With the master turned all the way down, the channel volume all the way down, and no drive, the amp is still super loud. Moving any of these up does increase volume noticeably, but leaving them at 0 is still way loud! I've performed the factory reset, holding the 'A' button down for about 10 seconds while turning the amp on, but I'm still having the problem. Thanks in advance for any help or insight anyone can provide. Always grateful, Michael
