Have you tried importing the presets one at a time to find the problematic one as you rebuild the preset each time? I know it seems a little OCD but I have done that in the past. On the other hand did the little old lady only drive 10 miles an hour in her 1969 GTO while formulating the patches? Dennis [EDIT: You probably already verified you have the 2.00.1 Editor?]

+1 to DarrellM5 & Silverhead or you can use the clear all blocks feature if you wish to keep the name only. Dennis

Could be. One thing I do [Type A, anal, OCD that I am] is completely set my Helix to factory after exporting all my custom setlists so it appears virgin before going to the next update. Then I do the FS9 & FS10 anyway and then import my custom stuff so I finally do FS10 & FS11. I have found I have to use the FS10 & FS11 feature several times to make sure all my presets are updated (lots of stereo, route to, multiple paths). Saves my bacon every once in awhile  Dennis

The only two issues with App/FW 2.00 I have are using the guitar only input is that I cannot copy the block. When I paste the copied block which has the value set to 22k it is auto to the preset I paste it into. All the other values come across but not the Z. However, individually my Z value does change and save. When I update all my personal presets, after re-importing them and drag and dropping all the IRs, using FS10 & FS11 two of my presets where still named but had no blocks and no custom paths; as if they were new presets [NOTE: I imported my two complete setlists in the correct locations and even had printout of where each preset was in each setlist PLUS I had individual exports of each preset] Dennis

+1 Silverhead. I found that out even though, as I watch both the unit and the editor due to my OCD, it makes some statement about updating that I mistakenly took for that function. Dennis

Also, not for the faint of heart or if you want to keep the problematic preset ⦠Hold FS11 and FS12 while powering Helix: In the unlikely situation where Helix may freeze, clears only the current preset without affecting other setlists and presets Dennis

FYI - I had a similar issue when I updated two firmwares ago. I now follow the instructions about FS9 & FS10 even after the update is supposed to do it automatically; AND in addition after I load my presets and IRs I turn off the Helix (I have the floor model) and use the FS combo to bring all presets into the current version which for me is FS10 & FS11. Dennis

Updated to 2.0 without any problems. Turned off AV, turned off FW, app version is 2.00.1, and had complete backups of backups  Yep that is me. I followed the instructions to the letter. Now re-rebuilding after adding all my presets in my two setlists as well as all the IRs which I took a picture of for order. If I can add a picture to my media (which I am search for how to do) I'll show the post upgrade configuration of one of my presets I had worried about importing. Dennis

DI, When I first got the Helix there was no editor and I easily mastered the ability to use the Helix on board controls. When the editor came out I thought I'd not need it; but of course I discovered that using both the manual controls for creation and the editor for modifying, copying & pasting, and other cool abilities they provided together sold me. Point is that I will be updating as well as anticipating all the cool positive features I have read about and seen in action via members video posts. And then in a week I'll be the one who says "How did I live without all these new features and improvements?" to include the snapshot feature. For me what is real cool is that I came into the Helix world and have been growing with the unit and the updates. What I have learned so far is amazing and making my musical life very expansive. Maybe my real fear is that I have created presets that actually can be used for whole if not two whole sets without changing. My DSPs are so maxed that I can't even add a gain block. However, I have many revision folders for the same sets of presets and I believe I may split my most useful into two presets each just in case the one massive preset doesn't load. So, yea I love this unit and have become assimilated! ;) Dennis

Phil, You know I'm going to update as soon as I can (read when I get home). Too many great reviews about the positive side of this update. B) Dennis

If I upgrade before the gig tomorrow I am just thinking to use my normal stomp mode with a preset, not a snapshot. Thoughts? Dennis
-
Phil, I use the on-board pedal for volume then toe to switch to wah, toe to switch to filter, etc. I have the Helix so I have nothing else to deal with (my all in one solution) What, if anything, should I be aware of? I haven't updated yet and since I have a gig tomorrow I am looking at the next time I have a whole 9 days in a row off. Thanks for any direction here, Dennis
-
So what is the slide made out of? Glass, Brass, Steel, ...? Thanks Dennis
-
Bangha, Sounds cool. Did you use a metal slide or did you emulate the Dobro slide with your FX blocks? Dennis
-
Phil, Thanks for the reply. I'll will check it out when I can. I have a gig Friday but will probably do the update Sunday. More later. Dennis

Peter, Yes! I am actually going to purchase a Peterson Tuner. I had one many years ago (OK, many many years ago) and it burned up in a house fire. I am looking at the StroboPlus HD. And as a side note to others here, I am not having any problems with the Line 6 Helix tuner. Strobe is only for intonation. Dennis

Do either of you know if the snapshot feature can just be turned off? I haven't updated yet. Just kind of wondering what snapshot mode will do as a benefit since I really didn't have a need for it before? Thanks to both of you in advance, Dennis

I have imported Roscoe5's IRs without any problem and the titles are there. Not sure what the issue is. I'm using several PCs based upon what room I and the Helix are in at the time. Win 8.1 Enterprise, Windows 10 Enterprise, & Windows 7 Enterprise. In my case I use the IR select knob #1 and have had no issues to date; that was once I realized how to use the IR feature in the Helix. Dennis

Peter, Thanks for keeping the "muse" [note: one definition is "source of inspiration"] in music going strong. Ah, the joy of being a family of musicians and friends who get what the real meaning of music is!! Wonderful read and it is a most excellent time to be alive in the music world! Dennis

That is what I read the OP saying. Being an old guy I have performed, recorded, and attended many a jam session for many years and have to agree on both counts. . It is about the music AND it is about training. But ... and there is a but ... I am just happy that real nerdy engineer type musicians have been able to provide such a wide array of tools for us tone freaks. I have amplifiers that date back to the late 1960's and on up to the 1990's as well as instruments. I couldn't afford new back then so I bought via the used and even pawn shop scene when one could purchase a beat up Strat or Paul for about $150 and hopefully afford a set of strings once you got down to 4 or 3 [OK sometimes 2] while wood-shedding to improve our chops. I also had become a tube sniffer and realized I was so wrapped up in the tubes I forgot about the music. My point; I have been A/B'ing my old old amps with the Helix with the aide of sound engineers and for me the sound of the Helix is as good as my ears' ability to match my legacy tone. Thanks to everyone in this forum I have learned about speaker frequency, how to max out the Digital Signal Path, how to choose an IR to smooth out the digitized sound, and how to make some strange sounds that go outside the boarders of reality [Hendrix would have loved this time]. All in all it is really fun. For the past several months since I purchased the Helix the other guitarist and his friends have been saying how much better his [not saying what type] modeler is. And it is good for about $300.00 used with some "just out of the box" settings you can tweak; plus he has a real good ear being a guitarist/sound engineer. However, for the past two weeks after living, sleeping, eating, and [bleeping] the Helix his friends are starting to talk Helix desire; to which I say that any modeler can become the right choice based upon the whole package. I just happen to have purchased a Helix and really like what I have. And the other guitarist is admitting the darn thing must be broken in 'cause it sounds great. The other side of the coin is he is starting to see how to add more than just reverb and echo to his sound. But back to the very beginning point ... we are a family of musicians and it is about having fun, sharing chops, helping out, and realizing that music will always be a growth process. It is a GREAT time to be alive in the music world! :D Dennis

Happy 4th to you as well. This is a bug that has been reported by several users. I noticed it and sent extensive reports on every step of the process to have this happen and was able to successfully (if you want to call repeatedly creating the problem a success) create the steps. In the final communique from Line 6 support I have been told this bug will be resolved in the next upgrade which "may or may not be out" [just playin' with DI here] by mid if not end of this month. Dennis

Oh yea, as to the difference ... 1) Not using this device - massive hum 2) Using device - no hum Dennis

Not sure how it works, but the sound engineer at church was using these to somehow not let phantom power connect to the Helix. Not sure if he was able to read something I didn't or I didn't understand when I did read the specs. I just used his recommendation. Dennis
