sosmusic, If you are still on 2.0 you really need to update to the newer version 2.10. I have the JTV89 as well and the 2.0 update had issues so, I was using 1.9 until 2.10 came out. I would suggest that if this is the case I would upgrade to the newest version of firmware.

I use it all the time. I have all my patches setup with Guitar as input 1 and Mic as input 2. I am a lead guitarist and a lead singer. It works well if you really don't need to much on your vocals. I haven't tried the vocoder. I should also add that I am a primarily a live guitarist and not much recording.

The Heavy distortion pedal in the POD500(X) was modeled after the Metal Zone pedal. So, yes it there but not named Metal Zone.

I have been using a pair of Shure 240A cans for the past 3 years and they work fine @ 38 ohm.

Thanks for the response. I will check it out and see if the neck is off a little bit and make adjustments as needed. As for the nut, I am not comfortable in making any adjustments since it lies on the fret-board in a weird way. I think I still have a month warranty left. Should I send it in to get adjusted?

Hi psarkissian, What is the fix for the E string slipping off the fret-board? I have a JTV-89 and have complained about this since I got the guitar. It's not the hi-E it's the low-E string that falls off the fret-board. I was going to try a different nut or even a new neck but if there is a fix please let me/us know.

Interesting because mine has never had this type of behavior? I am not trying to disagree with you but I would tend to agree with alienux and I think that there is a problem with either how hard you press on the foot switches or the foot switches are going bad? I just had an issue with FS3 and sprayed contact cleaner in there and haven't had an issue since. I have had other issues in the past but this would be a major one for me. It would be interesting to hear if others have had this type of behavior with their HD500's.

I have had my HD500 unit since Oct 2010 and this kind of thing has never happened to me. I would never play live with my HD500 if this was happening. Maybe it's a HD500X issue. I haven't had to use this version but I thought you could pick the USB in question and delete. So, I am not too sure if it will remove all or let you pick the USB driver. Most keyboards and mice are plug and play so they should come back if removed. If you have other USB devices that require a unique driver I would have the disk ready to re-install the drivers.

No, I don't think there is a way to change that but I think it should read HD500X for the driver? There is a freeware program that will list and clean old or un-used USB drivers. As BigChas52 said above. I have seen this happen to some units (through this forum) and the only fix is to send it back to Line 6 and have them fix it.

OK that makes since. Have you tried disabling WindowBlinds and trying to reconnect your POD? I have used WindowBlinds a few years ago and it just got in the way of things way too often. I am not saying this could be the issue but I have seen it mess with the OS in a weird way.

MiguelMarquez, I don't mean to hijack the thread but I have some questions. The screen shots you provided on the previous page (your post #20) looks like you are using a MAC PC not Windows? Forgive me if I am wrong but I have been in computer industry for a very long time and the screen shots provided don't look like they are from a windows computer. Do you have an apple skin applied?

This was the old firmware that still has the issue I explained above. This firmware was available 3 months ago. So this was not a fix or a new firmware release. Curious to know why Tony posted this on this thread if there was no resolution?

Cool... Thanks to both of you for the links. I think I will try the contact cleaner first and see if I can't get it to work correctly again. I hope it's not the tiny switch. Replacing it looks easy enough but prefer not to have to do this.

Hello all, I need to see if anybody knows how to clean a foot switch in a HD500? I have had my 500 for about 3 1/2 years and I use it almost everyday and recently this started to happen on FS6 switch. If I tap dance on it a few times it will eventually activate but it's a real pain when playing live.. Has anybody used contact cleaner with success? and How would you spray it in there? Any videos showing a replacement? Thanks....

What you have to do is to re-flash your HD500 back to an older firmware version. (2.10)

For the life of me I couldn't figure out why my HD500 wasn't acting this way until I remembered that I was on the old HD 2.10 firmware on my HD500. I installed 2.31 on the HD500 and now mine acts this way. So, I don't think this wasn't a JTV update because I was on JTV 2.10 firmware. Maybe a combo of both 2.31 and 2.10 but it definitely doesn't work this way if you are on the old HD 2.10 firmware and the newest 2.10 JTV firmware. So what this means if someone doesn't like it they can go back to the HD500 2.10 firmware and have it the old way. I am not too sure if if it acted this way in the HD firmware 2.20? I even upgraded to the new HD firmware to get this feature activated. I think it's a great idea and liking it already. Thanks Guihordas for the information about this feature.

I ordered one a few weeks ago and they are very well built and work great. I would suggest getting one from these guys if you are in the market for a good VDI cable. I have the 30 foot Line 6 cable and it's now my back up cable as well. .

It works great with the POD and it's fast as heck. I even uploaded the 89mags bank and it loaded with out a flaw. So, far a great update.

I installed the new 2.10 firmware and low and behold the reboot is gone. I have rebooted 10 + times and not a reboot in sight. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not too sure what they did but now I can actually go to the new FW version and not be too worried about it rebooting. Thank You Line 6!

Yes, I have tried 1.7x through 1.8x. I have went directly from 1.7x, 1.8x, 1.9X to 2.0 and every version in between. I have even stepped from 1.7x to 1.8x to 1.9x and then to 2.0. If I can get the ticket you will see the trouble shooting was extensive. I appreciate your willingness to help but there is a bigger issue with 2.0. IMHO
