  1. Pretty good, but they only did one model for it not all 3 modes.... I created an ideascale request to get al three modes done.
  2. 90s rock mostly with some newer and some older stuff, my standby models are the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and the Solo Lead OD! The Solo Lead OD is kinda noisy, need to have noise filter on it it but I love the way it sounds and feels!
  3. What do you have your backing tracks on? If you are playing from a computer then that will be easy as the Helix will act as the sound card. If you are playing from another source then every sound you use will have to have a separate line set just for whichever INs you use. Since you have 4 lines avail for processing I can't imagine you not having enough processing for vocals, the max I have used is 2 lines full of effects for 2 different guitar sounds at the same time and have had zero problems with that. I have only used the Mic pre just testing it out in recording, it sounds good to me but haven't done extensive testing with it. I wish they would have global setting for some of the INs so that they are always ON, but as of yet they don't, you have to assign them a line.
  4. Be sure to vote this up if you like the Cali Rectifier, Guitar Rig 5 Pro had all 3 modes done which really helped dial in some great tones. Helix models are so much better than GR5 that I'm sure they would be awesome!

    Helix issues

I too have had drop outs with the SPDIF, fortunately for me I don't use that live and have many other inputs both XLR and 1/4 inch to choose from, it's just easier with the one small cable. I would be sure this has been reported as a bug before sending it back, sounds like a FW update should be able to fix this!
  6. I had a Digitech multi effect unit that would do this, you had to have the same delay on the next patch but it worked great! perhaps we should ideascale this one too
  7. I went ahead and made an ideascale suggestion for any who may like this idea http://line6.ideasca...es/796433-23508
  8. Here is my suggestion to have all 3 modes of the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (aka Cali Rectifier) modeled. The Vintage, Raw and Modern modes which each have a distinctive sound to them. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Cali-Rectifier-Modes/796433-23508

    NO More HELIX

Waiting stinks, good call on the guitar, I was lucky and got both the guitar and the Helix and they work great together, sounds amazing and having a Strat neck pickup on one preset then BAM Les Paul bridge pickup on the next..... sweetness! I was pretty frustrated at first with the Helix app problems and the FW update problems, it has been pretty solid for me since 1.03 however so it should be really good by the time you get it!
  10. The original amp from which this model comes from (can I say it here? it is the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier!) has 3 modes... Vintage, Raw and Modern which all have distinct flavors to them. Am I missing something and is there a way to access these or has someone posted in ideascale about this, this is a great amp but we are only getting 1/3 of it without the other modes.

    NO More HELIX

I went to Taco Bell to get an AM Crunchwrap the other morning and they were completely out of sausage.
  12. When you save a set list it doesn't recognize the "New Preset" and writes other presets in that slot but keeps the "New Preset" name which offsets the labeling. Sooooo..... if you have any empty presets rename them (I put in one effect and save them as BLANK) and your set list will save correctly.

    FW 1.04 info

Awesomeness! But PLEASE make sure saved Bundles and Setlists work with the new update before putting it out. Not sure I can spend another 4 hours re re recreating my sounds! Thanks!!
  14. I've created some good clean tones with no problem. Check to make sure your outputs match whatever you are plugging them into (line or instrument). Before sending it back maybe post the patches you are having trouble with and list what type of guitar you are using with them maybe we can help narrow down the problem that way. Good luck!

    Please Fix This!

For those who care, the reason I have blank ones is because I use bottom row for patches and don't want to use bank up to get to next patch in a song so I organize them so I only bank up for the next song or next group of songs. :P

    Please Fix This!

Have the latest firmware, have the latest version of Helix app. Saved a setlist and when I loaded it back in.... names are all jacked up again. Took me a couple hours to rename and reorganize last time. It looks like it is writing names over the New Preset (blank presets) with the name of the next used preset so they are offset by however many blank ones you have. Spent way too much time re-creating patches after crashes and now re-naming and moving patches after loading a save. After I get done doing this, I guess a temporary fix would be to put "something" in each blank preset so it will save it next time. But having a fixed app would be even better!
  17. If you bought it locally, I would try the store you got it from. If not perhaps a music repair place would let you use one for a nominal fee. Might want to invest in W7 or above if you plan on keeping the unit :)
  18. Well I haven't been on here everyday but I have been here quite a bit and I've never seen that before, unfortunately it sounds like a physical problem and not a software or firmware issue. I would of course try all of the firmware updates and resets and anything else you can do from home, contact tech support, hopefully you won't have to send it in. Good luck!
  19. Mine did the same thing, they were not lost but "shifted", my first 4 patches had the names but no effects in them, the rest had effects but were the wrong ones, turns out ALL my presets were moved 4 patches and I had to go back and rename and resave 40 patches.... good luck!
  20. It can be a juggling act sometimes but usually there is a way to make it work!
  21. have all three assigned a footswich and you can just use same expression pedal. Have one effect assigned to exp1, 2 to exp2 and set up footswitch to toggle between them
  22. Those factory presets are 98% useless, I was very concerned when I first started playing them, fortunately it isn't hard to get really good tones by creating your own. I think their choice of cabs and mics is the culprit.
  23. Mine did the same thing, on the same day as yours. There is a updated Helix app, I'm hoping that takes care of it cuz that took a long time to rename and re order all my presets!
  24. Last week at band practice 0 problems... sounded great, thought I was in the clear. Last night at band practice, in a 2 hour practice the sound cut out 4 times and needed a reboot to get going again. Screen stayed on, scribble strips still showed my patch names, I could switch patches and the screen would show the change... just no sound at all. I am using JTV59 using variax cable and the only thing I can think that was similar in each incident was I believe I was using or had just used the Expression Pedal Toe switch. I checked all cables and everything was secure. I don't remember seeing this problem posted... anyone else have this happen and know of a fix? Got a gig in 3 weeks.... would really like to use this but not if it's gonna cut out.
