Ok. I'm selling - NOT :D. Irony is the hygiene of the mind. (Elizabeth Bibesco)

...what I meant. So simply do it.

The purpose of backing up things? Wait and you'll see ;) I lost my stuff too often - and I won't trust any 'automatical' routine (same with operation systems like Windows or [...] - don't be 'starry-eyed' ).

The question is not, if the editor comes but when it will be published. Otherwise somebody else will be happy with my beloved Helix ;)
-
I even bought a stand for the Helix. I insist on that editor, anyway. There's no alternative (to that workflow).
-
The Helix installer includes drivers and updater (check out the install options).
-
This has mainly to do with my very personal 'folder policy': I store every material according to its firmware number. Sometime twice. Doesn't hurt, though ;) ...

Update procedure: * Backed up tones (presets, setlists, bundles, Irs). * Ran update via Helix Application v1.04 (including drivers, updater). * Updated 'firmware' 1.6.5. * Global reset (footswitches 9 & 10) * Backup of tones again (with new firmware); importing IRs. Everything worked fine this time - and still runs smoothly :) Thank you so much!! Still waiting for the 'real' editor - increasingly with a bad grace  ...

No. I don't want a buggy editor. But I need it soon, anyway.
-
...forgot to mention: Sorry...

Right. What follows is my very own personal view: These long videos (I saw all of 'em -_- ) were obviously made by a pretty frustrated german (brainworm) guy who likes to listen to his own words; I feel lightly sorry for him ;) It's a fairly old discussion, started decades ago - sampling was a revolutionary thing at that time. I had to follow these discussions, because I'm old enough :P. Copying? Poor companies?? Copyright of sounds??? 'Ethicality' ???? I bought guitars, amps, I bought modellers, sounds, tones, presets and even a modelling guitar. So what?!? Besides, what I really dislike are empty or false promises and neglecting support  . As long as it really sounds good and works trouble-free anyone should get one's share of the cake (end of my very own personal view) !

Patience is beginning to wear thin - that's not a joke

...and, to be precisely - this is really off topic ;-)
-
A hint like 'uninstall previous software' would then be a great help ;-)

Seems to be a 'common' bug with the latest Updater vers. 1.07: Once installed and opened, it only appears in the Win(7/8/10) task manager, but the window won't open... Checked it with different computers, downloads and browsers.
-
Same here on Win7 (prof) Laptop & Desktop. Already posted this (into bug reports). Seems to be a 'real' bug of the 1.07 updater proggy :(
-
Line 6 Updater, version 1.07 for Helix (not Helix Rack) not working with Win7 prof. Version 1.04 (still) working - (which is part of the Helix application 'package' 1.03).

Guess you're talking about the mags only? Don't forget, the Variax is no 'normal' electric guitar (if such thing exists anyway ;)) - because of the piezos. Maybe L6 could find an option for the mags (only) in the helix signalflow someday...

Variax And Wireless
klangmaler replied to BluesPlayer76's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
...wiretaped instead of wireless :D ... Maybe there will be a wireless solution by Neutrik for VDI / ethercon some day (they developed 'XIRIUM', a new wireless solution for audio)? -
...I just found this picture of my very early recording studio...
