  1. Then the 48V line may be okay, the power line to the processor may have failed, or the line coming from the supply out to the IC chips may have failed.
  2. Get in touch with Line 6 Customer Support.
  3. Anything about the set-up that's changed prior to this time?
  4. And the Behringer XR-16 Air is plugged into the same power strip?
  5. Slight difference in the program between 89 and 89F, to deal with the minor differences in the piezos, and the tone color subtleties between fix and floating bridges (and floating bridge pitch tracking). The Models and Alt Tunes are the same between them.
  6. sweeda,... log a support ticket in your account and get in touch with Line 6 Customer Support.
  7. Yes, what "silverhead" said. And use the Variax USB Interface device, not the HD500. The earlier Variax like the 600, don't talk to the HD series of products, need to use the earlier interface and original Workbench. The 600 and HD500 will work well and play fine together, but when it comes to updates or Workbench, use the interface device and original Variax Workbench.
  8. What is the make an model of the mic? And what is it plugged into?
  9. Did you have a mic plugged in? What brand and model was it? Did you use the +48V phantom power for the mic?
  10. Ground loops don't occur with isolated devices, they occur when multiple devices are connected in a way where two ground points create a voltage potential. phil_m is correct. There is also the venue's electrical set-up to consider. When it comes to a ground loop, it could be anything in the signal chain. Something is different in the way thing were connected that time compared to prior times.
  11. Are two LED's going back and forth? Are you using Gearbox? UX8 is the interface, Gearbox is the application to use, to run the UX8.
  12. Don't use the X3 Live as an interface, it's not meant to work as an interface with HD series. Use the interface widget and its cables. Workbench HD is for JTV's with Flash v2.00 and higher.
  13. "No to start that whole debate...but are you saying DSP modelling tones are altered by the woods their electronics are housed in....really?"--- Carlos has an SG copy rigged for left handed, with JTV guts in it, he noticed a subtle difference in tone compared to his JTV-69,... as we expected when we A/B them. A former service tech in Canada (one of the 4 or 5 mod guys in No America), also a lefty, said the same thing when he transplanted JTV guts into a Flying-V. Oz Noy had JTV modified and customized by a guitar maker out here (yes, also one of the 4 or 5 in No America). Oz had me do a couple of mods to adjust the tone colour on it. He had the body further sculpted and one of the guitar maker's special fitted necks. It's a mix of electronics and acoustics. They all sound fine, play great, and yes,... a difference in tone. But in their cases it was a subtle difference. Transplants work,... just wanted you all to be aware of those subtle differences, so that if you go there, you go there with eyes open and ears aware. Enjoy. Rock-n-roll!!!
  14. http://www.markwrightmusic.com/contact-us.html He's in Northampton off the M1 and the A4500. He used to work at Line UK, in Rugby, back when we had had a location there. He was my opposite number in the UK. He knows as much about JTV guitars as I do.
  15. Model outputs won't sound the same in a different body. The tone colour or EQ is affected, and it may or may not be a subtle, depending on the body it's in. Everyone I talked to with a transplant has told me that. It's something to be aware of before you delve into this. They neither like nor dislike that, they just confirmed to me about that. They were aware before hand that it would be the case.
  16. Clay,... actually, I have. But they were off-the-clock favors for guitarist Carlos Rios and a couple others. Haven't had time for any others lately though. And Stevekc's photo is of the older Variax insides. I'm familiar with and know of the work of Thermal Relief Guitars,... not half bad.
  17. "I did check the list before I bought it (the FBV)"--- Oh good, I'd hoped you might, some others don't,... just checking.
  18. Check the compatibility list http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects-controllers/fbv-mki-mkii-controllers/the-complete-line-6-pedal-compatibility-faq-r58 ... in the Knowledge Base here for which FBV to use.
  19. willgal,... Workbench HD works with JTV's that have Flash v2.00 or higher. If it needs an update, see the owners manual or the Knowledge Base for particulars regarding updating.
  20. DarrellM5's posting with the link,... there is probably a plug-to-jack mis-match resulting in a ground lift on the audio signal line. So what you are probably hearing is a frequency fold-back into the audio band from the clock crystal. Check the link in DarrellM5's posting.
  21. Does the high frequency noise sound like you made a phone call, and ended up connecting to fax machine?
  22. The two screws by the thumb wheel, make certain they are snug. If it's loose, there can be an intermittent shield.
