TRS 1/4" and VDI,.... it's a pair of unequal branches. They won't pull down (load) the same. So using them both simultaneously creates problems. I can't get any deeper than that about it with end users. And I do have background in audio circuit design and apps (decades of it). And I've serviced hundreds of these. I know what they can and can't do. I'm just trying to keep all your gear from ending up on my bench.

Check to make sure that both of your XLR's are 50-Ohm cables for XLR audio outputs. Don't get them mix in with Line 6 Link cable,... it's a different impedance.

Yes Clay,... I'm here to keep everyone's gear from ending up on my bench. Thanks. As for the components,... they actually pretty good, and I design circuits with these. It's more about it not being designed for use with both out's simultaneously. If there were more space in side, or a properly impedance matched signal boost attachment that could do the job without circuit pull-down, then I'd be saying "go for it". But that's not the case here. Bummer.

I think that's out to 20kHz? Typo? silverhead,... essential right, Flat response,... make no EQ,... that would make sense. Flat across the response range would,... and no EQ, it would also have to be in-phase and maintain that across the entire range. What Tannoy used to call 'phase coherent'. Not something I deal with much. It's become a big thing with FOH board ops guys in recent years.

IR, Impulse Response,... Put an impulse signal into a black box circuit, and the response is what you get at the output. It can be observed in time domain, as with an oscilloscope, or frequency domain, as with the FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) display of a spectrum analyzer.

No secret sauce, just basic electronics. Paul is in the UK, the vid was made in up'd to You Tube in 2011. And we haven't had a Line 6 UK, since 2014. So this vid is probably out of date. Sorry "cruis", no secret sauce stuff here today, just boring facts about audio circuits. Love these exchanges with you, always a sharp one. Keep up the good work. :)

Amp chips in the XT Live headphone output used to blow when someone used headphones with the wrong impedance range. That problem was solved. Not so easy to do the same here, it's not entirely the same circuit as the XT Live, but the same kinds of load impedance principles apply here. I'm the guy that services and repairs guitar here at Line 6, and so I know the circuitry intimately, and been using and designing circuits with these chips for decades. So I know what the limits of the amp chips are. I don't have time or space to do an electronics semiconductor theory class here. If you're going to do something like this, be very careful of how you load it down.

1/4 inch and VDI on JTV series

Using both simultaneously will put a strain on the amp circuit in the guitar. -
4,8 & 16 ohm speaker outs....and factory setting

For the DT50-112,... Yes, should be 8-Ohm. -
Maybe standing waves, as a result of the venue lay out? Room isn't as tuned as it could be?

Workbench doesn't see JTV-59
psarkissian replied to Bangha's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Battery in the JTV, and the 1/4" cable ought to be a TRS plug. Leave the other side of the 1/4" open, the idea is to simply engage the battery. Both LED's on the interface are green, so from a hardware stand point it's good. Volume and tone to 10, good. The JTV has Flash v2.21? Are you running your Mac Book on battery or power adapter into an outlet? Is Workbech HD already open when you plug everything else in? -

VDI cable stuck in guitar jack

Sometimes the cover door hangs up, jamming against some contour on the connector casing. Yeah Rocco,... that works too, so Bangha, just be careful when you try that. -

Right,... that too, thanks silverhead. -

Press on the clip, push connector in, then out. Don't pull too hard. -
What's Happening With The M20D?
psarkissian replied to StuMur's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
No problem rimrocked,... hmmm, odd, we've never referred to any of this here at Line 6 as "Dreamscape". We have a "Dream Rig", as previously mentioned. Yamaha and Line 6 product lines are independent product lines, though the Variax Standard was a collaboration. Seems to be some confusion regarding the differences between Yamaha and Line 6 product lines. Odd that Yorkville would make an error like that. I know a couple guys in the service dept there, they know the difference between our product lines. Odd.- 23 replies
