    POD HD

Is it an HD500 or an HD500X? Each one uses a different HD500 edit program.
  2. He used the parrot to record onto the granite discs. Jeeeeeeeese.
  3. DI. I used that method but always stayed above about 7kHz. Can't wait to try the 4kHz area. The vocal response hump EQ resonates with me. I think that might be an issue when I'm live. Thank's to everyone.
  4. I think my wife had one of your processor's last night. (Uh oh. She's here.) Uuuuuuhhhhhhh. Just kidding honey!
  5. Let us know if you hit the Seattle area.
  6. I seem to recal a few people saying most of the amps have fizz in the 8k region. I'll have to try 4k. Thanks for the post.

    A 435 hz

There is a pitch effect that people have used with varying results. I'm not sure if it can do 435Hz but I'm pretty sure it can. Put it first in the chain. Make sure to turn the mix to 100%.
  8. The Vetta uses a battery. Perhaps your battery died. They last about ten years. They are a pain to replace.
  9. What a great idea. I'm gonna try it
  10. Check out Meambobbo's HD guide. There is a section called Cabs and mics. In it there is a section called Dual Cabs. In that there is a section called Phase Correction. He has discovered some interesting things about using dual amps. Just search for Meambobbo.
  11. The main reason I ask is I try to setup two amps and I use the Volume pedal to switch between them. Ch Volume Amp 1 Expression pedal toe position is 100%, heel position 0% Ch Volume Amp 2 Expression pedal toe position is 0%, heel position 100% So the volume for one amp goes the opposite way of the volume for the other. Problem is the volume change isn't smooth. If I do it slow it doesn't work very well like it did on my X3. I wish the mixer volume controls could be controlled by the expression pedal.
  12. I know the HD500's can't be fixed but what about coding HD Edit program so it shows Hz & dB instead of percentages? Wouldn't that be a quick IF-THEN statement or whatever it is these days? I put a request in ideascale for this. Swing by and vote for this if you like the idea. Here's where you go.... http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/No-more-EQ-in-percentage-in-HD-Edit/804275-23508?submitted=1
  13. Yes. I would say the dual stereo path capability is proof of that.
  14. I tape my cable down with gaffers tape so it's only loose behind me. Works great!!
  15. That's why I put normal in quotes. The neck is, quote unquote, normal. Indicating, I thought, that there is no normal really, but that it was closer to your average neck than the JTV89F's. My first guitar's neck was even more narrow than the JTV69's if you can believe it. A mid '70s SG I still have. It was my first electric and I was a teenager so I didn't know any better. It wasn't until years later that I realized I had been learning on, what is still in my experience, the thinnest full size guitar neck I've ever seen. In fact I have yet to find an SG with a neck as skinny as that one. It's like ;they only made them one year and I bought the only one. Just my luck.
  16. The main difference between them, besides the obvious asthetics; the 69 is a more "normal" neck where the 89 has a relatively sliim and wider neck. Play them before you do the trade. Also, without going into detail, if you decide on the 89, make sure it works with your HD500. The two things you're looking for. Have the JTV 89 hooked up to your HD500 and the 500 connected to your computer with the power off. Power on. If the HD500 doesn't reboot after 10-15 seconds Run Line 6 monkey and see if it can tell what version firmware you have on your 500. If the HD500 reboots after 10-15 seconds or the Line 6 monkey can't tell what version firmware is on the HD500 (it will say Unknown), save yourself a big headache and don't get it. If it doesn't do these things, definitely get it if you like the neck.
  17. I LOVE that lick and use that lick all the time. Now I know why everyone leaves when I do that.

    New Update

Forgot about that. That makes two main fixes I would like to see.

    New Update

My gut instinct tells me there will be no more updates. If there is one, the main fix I would like to see is take the percentage thing out of the parameters; mainly the EQ. I know, I know, it's a hardware issue and supposedly can't be fixed. But isn't there something that can be done. At least in Edit. Can't a little algorithm be inserted in EDIT so it would not be percentages in HD500 edit? Ya know, a little IF THEN line of code. IF 50% is there THEN it equals this in dB, or whatever.

    New Update

Some suggestions. I haven't run across what you describe but other people have and here's two things that seem to help. USB - Don't use a USB hub. And if you aren't, try different USB inputs (my laptop has USB inputs that work better than others). Don't touch the pedal board when you are connected to your computer and Edit is running. It just doesn't like that. For me, I have done that and it will work but, in my case, when I have done that, that's when things start to not work well. If you already knew these tips, I apologize. But if not, give them a shot. Hope it works out.
  22. These are some great tips. I can';t wait to try them. Thank you all for sharing!!!!
