  1. I just had a thought about custom tone. They should have one section with direct tones only. A different section with live tones and in that section, a column describing what their setup is.
  2. How about a different Global EQ for each playlist? Might be easier to implement.
  3. Two famous ones. Mistaken Lyriic "There's a bathroom on the right" Real lyric "There's a bad moon on the rise" Mistaken Lyric " 'Scuse my while I kiss this guy" Real Lyric " 'Scuse me while I kiss the sky"
  4. I agree. I learned guitar in the 70's where it took you a year to barely scrape up enough money for an amp, guitar and a couple of pedals. That would be it!!!!! If you got tired of that tone, too bad. Let alone being able to switch to different amps (and guitar with the Variax). I'm not sure if alot of the younger people realize just how fantastic they've got it. I am so jealous of this generation. Let me go ahead and also add how we had to learn songs without the internet or tab. There was LITTLE TO NONE (tab). Ya needed a record player that had a 16 speed so you could slow those fast licks down. Now, what would take a week, can be learned on youtube.in five minutes.
  5. I guess my main disagreement is over what Global EQ was MEANT for. I haven't seen anywhere what Global EQ was specifically MEANT for. Didn't know it was MEANT for any specific problem. And in regard to one cabinet, I play through various equipment, several cabs. several amps and often direct, so as a baseline, I will look up a cab or amps freq response graph and Gobal EQ accordingly.
  6. RE the 1/4" outs. Check to see if the level switch is on Line or Amp. Line has more Oooooooomph.
  7. I half disagree with you. I have used a global EQ to compensate for the freq response curve of a guitar cab to make it more flat.
  8. I don't believe the setlists are changed when you load the new firmware (they didn't for me). Ya get all the patches but the setlists are whatever you had before the firmware upgrade. You have to do a factory reset after you load the new firmware to get the new Line 6 setlist names. So you should be good to go.
  9. I've often had some kind of issue when loading saved patch files (patch, setlist or bundle), especially if they were created on a 500 or 500X and then loaded into the other one (I have a 500 and a 500X). One thing that has helped alot is, as soon as I load a Patch file I save it from the device itself (hit save button twice). That took care of alot of problems.
  10. So it sounds like you do your editing from the HD500X itself and not from a computer you have your HD attached to.
  11. PAID?????? I was assured by the club owners and promoters that just getting people to listen to my little noodlings was payment enough.
  12. Well I would put the Noise Gate at the beginning of your effects. Then it uses only the clean guitar signal as it's reference and not a bunch of noisy effects and amps.
  13. How did you figure that out????? I have a friend that has an XT who can't get Gearbox to work on his Yosemite upgraded MAC. I'm not sure he would have that exact plugin. Do you know of other plugins that would do the same thing?
  14. So let me get this straight. Line 6 had the upgrade and model packs ready to go now for the HD500X NOW and instead of letting the HD500X owners have it now they should have waited two weeks (or whatever it will be) so that everyone could have gotten it at the same time? Just so you can feel better about yourself and how Line 6 thinks about you? That would be the only reason to not offer it now to the HD500X owners. I can assure of one thing, they didn't sit around thinking how can we make the HD500 owners regret not getting an HD500X or whatever other conspiracy you might be coming up with. I mean do you really think they should have said to themselves.... "Well, we have the upgrade and model packs ready for the HD500X but we don't want to injure to other HD owner's egos and self worth so we'll deny the HD500X people the upgrade and model packs until everyone can have one. Even though they are ready now." C'mon. They said awhile ago that the upgrade and model packs would be ready for the HD500X BEFORE they would be ready for the other HD500's. Not because they want to make you feel like a second class citizen but because that was the schedule to get it done given the recources that they have. Maybe they should have had it ready for the product they have discontinued and given it to them first? Thereby making HD500X people feel like second class citizens. Of course not. They had the HD500X upgrade and model packs ready first and put it out as soon as they could, instead of waiting unitl the other upgrade was ready just to keep a few people from whining. It is amazing to me that people always find a way to feel sorry for themselves, even though from a pragmatic, black and white point of view, they did exaclty what they had to do. I know they would have released both upgrades at the same if it was possible...It wasn't. If that's what makes you feel like a second class citizen then you may be a little too sensitive for the cold hard world of equipment upgrading and might want to consider getting out of it.

    Firmware 2.6

Are you sure? My Setlist 5 has patches like "One Coil Brit" and "Psyc Chiime" Which to me indicate guitars and Setlist 6 has patches like "Black Dog" Blue Suede Shoes" and "Brown Sugar" which sound like song patches to me Here's what I'm seeing.

    Firmware 2.6

I see my patches were changed but none of the Setlist names were changed (I did not "keep my patches") So it did replace all the patches but the setlist names are still what I had previously named them. Can someone tell me what each of the setlists are called. Right now it looks like setlist 5 is all the Variax patches and not setlist 3 as was previously mentioned And what are all the patches with amp names and LVM after their names. What are those about? I really wish Line 6 would come out with some sort of explanation of the patches aside from the setlist title

    Firmware 2.6

So here's some info I couldn't immediately find. The first three lists are showing what Line 6's amp names equal in each . The last list is the order the amkps appear in HD500x edit. That's right. A new upgrade is always preceded by a new version of Monkey.

    Firmware 2.6

Well the card I use has a small limit and I only use it for the internet. I just checked the account and everything is OK. I think they're just getting things ready and that just happened to be the error message that came up. I don't think it's properly set up yet.

    Firmware 2.6

I can now add it to my cart but there's an error when I try to "submit" my order. Specifically it says... There was a problem We were unable to process payment (declined or fraud locked, please verify card status with your card issuer) ( Error: 9738) Please double check everything and try again. If you need more help, go to our support page So I think they are VERY close
