Do you have a Variax hooked up while doing the upgrade?
-
Didn't you post this about two posts before the above quoted one? "Let's turn off the PODs and kill this thread." Yet you just couldn't resist doing some schoolyard namecalling. You now take the lead in the "undetermined age, but probably young and full of themselves, hypocrite" category.

I remember alot of "Metal" guys really liked Big Bottom and a couple of the other Line 6 amp incarnations.
-
Well it sounds like you have a time based effect somewhere in your patch. The only other suggestion for now, would be a noise gate at the very beginning. It's hard to come up with any solutions until I know what your patch consists of.
-
The file only provides your particular program on your particular machine with the names it has in it. So, for example, a patch created in my Edit program on my computer, will still show the original names that Line 6 created on any other computer that has the original file in it. It only provides your program on your particular computer with the names of everything. So if I create a patch in my HD Edit progam that has my file with the real amp/cab/FX names, if you haven't replaced the file with mine, it will still show the original Line 6 names on your computer. And any patch you have created on your HD Edit program will, on my computer, show the names I personally created, since I have replaced the file with mine. This also doesnt' in any way change what you'll see on your unit or affect it in anyway. I hope that makes sense.

PITA Pain in the a@@. You can consider SPDIF like another connection but instead of analog it is digital. So in essence it's like your XLR and 1/4" outputs and, like those, if your audio card/interface doesn't have an SPDIF input, you can't use it. It then should be another input option on your audio card/interface.

I do not.

I have created a file that, when replaced in the HD500 or 500X edit pograms will give you the real names of amps cabs and FX. Thought some of you might like to try it. Now because of space limitations, some of the abbreviations my seem a bit weird but hey, I did this for me. For the cabs, I tried to have the brand, the number and size of the speakers and the speakers model numbers. In the FX, some were "inspired" by the effect and in that case I put Insp. in the title. For example, there is an MXR Phase 90 and an MXR Phase 90 Insp. How to do this. First, THIS IS CRITICAL. Change the extension of the attached file from txt to lang. So the file is PODX4Edit.txt. Change it to PODX4Edit.lang Next find the res folder in the POD HD500 Edit or POD HD500X Edit folders. These folders are in the Line 6 folder which is in the Program Files folder or Program Files (x86) folder. The possible paths specifically are: C:\Program Files\Line 6\POD HD500 Edit\res and C:\Program Files\Line 6\POD HD500X Edit\res OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Line 6\POD HD500 Edit\res and C:\Program Files (x86)\Line 6\POD HD500X Edit\res Copy the original PODX4Edit.lang found in the res folder and save it somewhere else. Now replace the original PODX4Edit.lang file with the PODX4Edit.txt file that you renamed to PODX4Edit.lang. Each Edit folder, HD500 and HD500X can use the same file. Here's the usual USE AT YOUR OWN RISK disclaiimer but I've been using it in both edit programs with no problems. And if you don't like it, put the original PODX4Edit.lang back in the folder. Enjoy.

Well just great!!! Now what am I gonna do? I guess I'll wait about a year to save up enough money but it looks like it resolves every issue I have with the HD500 series. My question is... Like in the X3, can you lock one of the outputs (1/4" or XLR) at one level so the master volume only controls the other output? BTW, Sweetwater is currently listing the floor model at $1499 so it looks like that is the street price.

It seems like lately, those threads have diminished. I guess most everyone who was going to leave, has.

I had no idea you could put the amp after the mixer. I don't know what I'd use it for yet, but I learned something new today.

Has anybody uploaded clean, crunch and heavy patches for ALL the HD amps?
brue58ski replied to barneybrown's topic in POD HD
Another trick to uploading those files is to change the extension to txt and then when they are downloaded you change the extension back to the original -
I changed your preset and didn't rename it. Other than taking out the Volume pedal you had, the only changes were in the Controller section. Each amps Channel Volume assigned to Exp2.

I think you were asking me. Here it is. I did this with no HD500X hooked up so I haven't tested it yet. One possible problem is you need to have an extra expression pedal hooked up, Otherwise, if you only use the internal expression pedal, when you engage the Wah pedal, Amp A will be the only amp on until you switch back to EXP 2. Haven't had time to trouble shoot this issue. One possible solution would be to assign the Wah to one of the numbered footswitch. Not ideal but I can't think of any other way right now.

What I do is assign each amp's Channel volume to the same expression pedal. Then make, for example, Amp A's Minimum position 0% and and Amp B's Minimum position whatever Channel Volume you want it to be. Then reverse for the Maximum position. Amp A's Maximum position the Channel Volume you want it to be and Amp B's Maximum to 0%. So as you go from Minimum to Maximum and vica versa, one amp is turned up and the other amp is turned down.

Let's see...at 1 possible combination a day that's...11.18 years to experiment with every single one. -
But I thought I made it clear. It is your mind that needs changing. :D Using the golden info you have received from me. And your informatin only helped confirm my position for me. Thankyou.

Well this has been entertaining but I think I've already spent too much time on this. I couldn't respond to you in a timely manner because I am just a bit too busy right now. Unless you can come up with something different and compelling (or call me a particularly fantastically nasty name :o ) you won't change my mind. And I've pretty much presented my case so, unless my golden words of wisdom have changed your mind, I'm guessing you feel the same. So I accept your conclusions and don't think you're a tool, an heir to the Massengil fortune or any of the other incredibly inventive labels you've come up with for people . And I would break bread with you since I accept what ever it is you think. Approve agree, no but I don't have to in order to accept your invitation which I'm sure is coming soon :P :D . I've actually had fun reading alot of your posts and honestly, have pretty much always agreed with you and kind of chuckled at some people's weak responses to you. You may even think my conclusions are also weak but this time I have to respectfully disagree with all of your conclusions. So keep fighting the good fight, give me a last argument if you feel the need but until the next major moral issue.....see ya.........Ya Poopiehead!!!! Yay, I WIN I WIN..... :D Crap, gotta go. Didnt' proof read so I hope this makes sense. Till next time.

If you're going to get into "morally" right then it was not "morally right" to make this offer so soon. So there. And since you want to get all legal, being dissatisfied can also include being dissatisfied with the price they paid when they find it was offered for less in the manner Line 6 did it. That made people dissatisfied with the purchase price. Which then falls under the "dissatisfied" caveat. And saying I sound like a tool? That's just a juvenile thing to do which makes you lose some credibility. I mean really...name calling? Well OK, you're a poopie head Do I win?
-
Boy you're sure condescending. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said it was a disservice. I never characterized it in that way! Reread my post and then YOU need to get real. I merely stated how it made me FEEL. Hence the terms "I think" and "I feel". I was using that to illustrate why I thought it was peoples right to return it using a policy that is legal and in place. That's what I was responding to. To make part of my point, I stated how the offer made me feel as support for the right of people to use the return policy. And I do accept what I paid. Where did I say I didn't? I said that to show I was not merely defending myself for doing it since I couldn't participate in the return.
-
Yes, not only do I think they do, I KNOW people do have a right to do that. Nothing is being abused if those are the terms you have. I think I've been abused by Line 6 by this offer. They have every RIIGHT to do it but, it makes ME sick that ONLY TWO MONTHS after offering something, it is then offered to other people for significantly less money. It seems very disrespectful to your customer base to me. As a pretty loyal Line 6 customer, I feel a bit cheated. I could see doing it after about a year or so but doing it so soon feels like a slap in the face. Did they know they were going to offer it at this price so soon after it came out? I think that's worse than using a return policy that is in place. Myself, I got them right away so I can't do it but people definitely have a right to do it.

When you're going into the FX return of an amp which almost always means you are bypassing the amp's preamp and essentially replacing it with whatever preamp you select.

Did you use any EQ or change the cabs?

Latest Firmware Is Very Harsh (high Gain Tones) Pod Hd500
brue58ski replied to juaquito16's topic in POD HD
Have you checked your Global EQ which was added in this update. I don't know if it is on or off after you initially install the update, or what the settings are if it is on after the initial upgrade. -
1) He specifically wanted one footswitch press to do two things so no. 2) I'm pretty sure you can though I've never tried. THIS IS WRONG. YOU CANNOT!!
