  1. Whenever I click "QUOTE", I don't get the quote. I cannot cut and paste either into my posts. If I want that, I have to physically type it in. Does anyone have any idea why this would be? This is a relatively new computer to me that I put a fresh install of Windows 7 on.
  2. Yes, it sounds like you're not saving your patch before you go to another one. If you don't it calls up the original patch.,
  3. I love ambient patches and I likey all of yours.
  4. I use the USB which essentially turns your HD500 into a sound card. You then select it (make sure you choose ASIO for your driver mode in your DAW) as your recording source in the DAW's preferences. That way you skip two converters that would be used if you do it the other way.
  5. I don't know specifically. I use auto. But it can be used as another tone shaping tool. It's subtle, but I can hear the difference.
  6. Then I apologize for misreading your comment. And I'm pretty sure I now understand why we won't get the Hz & Freg. It appears it would require another piece of hardware and therefore there isn't a software/code solution.
  7. Hmmmmmmmm...OK. Whatever. So the "cry" comment wasn't at all directed at me? You weren't lumping me in with that? Fine. And you need to look up the word sarcasm. Your post appeared to be a direct comment on the subject and not sarcasm. I don't see any sarcasm in it. Unless you meant people really don't "cry about things...". If that's the case then that would be sarcasm and I apologize. And don't tell me what I knew or didn't know. I knew it was a subject that had been belabored for awhile hence the "beating a dead horse" in the title. To avoid the responses you say I should have known I would get. I had hoped that would have been enough to keep people like you away from this thread since I don't want to irritate or offend anyone. You weren't "playing", you were insulting with a direct comment. You're not exactly new to the forums either and if you're aware of me (I have actually defended you on occasion) you should know that when a response like yours is made quoting me, I will respond accordingly. So your supposed to be able to post your little quips and people are just supposed to shut up and listen? Go ahead and respond to things the way you want. But don't expect me to just sit back and go :"DUH OK Mr. expert. I guess I've been told". If I'm misreading your intent and you were really laughing along with me then I apologize. I don't think you were.
  8. I am not a programmer but it just seemed to me if you can tell a screen to show "this1" when it senses "this2", you could relatively easily change "this"1 to something else. It sounds like that's not the case. I think I kind of understand. Dutch guitarist, your post helped a lot. Thank you. But I still can't help but feel there's gotta be a way. Oh well. Just curious. By the way Zap, I wasn't crying, I was enquiring. There's a difference ya know. And I made it clear I knew I was pretty much beating a dead horse in this thread in the title. That's why I put that. So if you were tired of the subject, you could avoid this thread. But I did have a question that I didn't feel had been ASKED or ANSWERED. Given your snide little response, I don't know why you even looked at this thread unless it was only to chastise. I will continue to ask questions that I don't think have been answered no matter what any "Expert" ;like you thinks. It must make you feel warm and fuzzy and superior to knock people with questions that you THINK have been answered. I still don't think my specific question has been definitively answered. I know the "will we have 'Freq & Hz' " question has been answered (no) but that's not what I was asking.
  9. "Agree, why not use your ears." Well, then why put any numbers anywhere? Why bother wasting all that screen space, cluttering it up with numbers? Why bother with L & R for the pan parameter? Why bother with any kind of indication telling you where your relative level/position is? Why even label the amps and effects? You should just use your ears. If you can't figure out why the question was asked all by yourself. Then no explanation will help.
  10. "Use your ears. Kaboom!" Gee golly wilikers, what an amazing commentary. Oh how you've opened my eyes and changed my thoughts about what I was asking. Thank you Soooooooo much for your compelling insight and ability to think outside the box.....Use my ears....Hmmmmmmmm....I thought I was when I was LISTENING to my patch while EQing it. I guess not. I'm sure your wit is a hit at all the best keggers. Bakoom!!!!!! :P
  11. You cannot use Pod Farm tones on the Pocket Pod. The Pocket Pod amps are based on the vey first POD bean, often referred to as POD 2.0.
  12. So is it me? I know there was something mentioned about something's tied into something and it would require too much deep programming to change it. I bought that at first but can't you just substitute one number for another. So if 50% is 1 KHz, why can't you just make the screen show that? don't show me 50%, show me 1KHz. or even just 1000 if letters are too hard. Could someone please tell me why changing from showing me 50 to showing me 1000 when it's at 50 is so hard?
  13. Sag, hum and bias are pretty subtle things that have to do with how the tubes react. If you're used to not using them then don't. The effect isn't that large. I do personally use them but again, the effect Is relatively subtle. The sag, besides subtley changing the sound, adds a little compression the higher you have it. The main thing would be to listen to your amp dry and then try them, just to experience what they do,.
  14. You can get an official Line 6 bag for $60 on amazon. I've used their XT Live bag and it was very study. Gator is very good as well and cheaper.
  15. No you need 3000mA. 3 amps! (that's a lot by the way)
  16. And it is easlily damaged.
  17. And what are you calibrating? I'm assuming it's the expression pedal.

    HD pro edit

1-Can't 2-You can only do this by setting up another preset with those things in it and start your patch there. 3-Make sure your output is set correctly. Sounds like it's not set to STUDIO 4-Are you playing through a Line 6 DT amp? If you are, step 3 may not apply.
  19. Understood. I'm sorry if I sounded condescending. I judge no one. Especially given my past ;). Hope my posts help you get to where you want to be.
  20. I just notice you have a wah. You need to do one more thing. Make sure your WAH is off. Then in the CONTROLLERS section, go to the MODEL drop down menu, select CH VOL, then go to the FS ASSIGN drop down menu and select EXP TOE SWITCH. SAVE. Then, Just to make sure every thing is good, you need to first make sure EXP 1 is selected on your HD500, then go back to your FX section, turn your WAH on, go back to the CONTROLLERS section, go to the MODEL drop down menu and select Throaty and make sure the FS ASSIGN is set to EXP TOE SWITCH. SAVE. So what should happen as you engage the TOE SWITCH is it should switch back and forth between the wah and the ch vol. I'm not at my 500 so I haven't checked this but I'm pretty sure this will all get you where you want to be. I'll check it later.
  21. You don't have EXP-2 selected in the CONTROLLER drop down menu below the PARAMETER drop down menu. It only says OFF. Also don't forget to make the MIN 0% and the max 100% like I forgot to tell you to do. And you won't see anything in the FX area to indicate what happened. Go to the AMPS section and you'll see EXP-2 under CH VOL instead of a number and percent sign. See the pic's I've attached.
  22. I think I answered my own question. So from your HD500, first make sure EXP 2 is selected. Then, go to your HD Edit and select "CONTROLERS". Then select your amp from the "MODEL" drop down menu. Now, in the 'PARAMETER" drop down menu select CH VOL. Now, in the "CONTROLLER" drop down menu select EXP-2. Now, and this is critical, save it to you HD500 by going to SEND and pressing selected. I can't remember why exactly but as I recall I had issues with the patch losing my expression pedal edits if I didn't save (SEND) them immediately to the HD500. I think part of it was I would assign my expression pedal and then immediately try it which, again as I recall, would cause it to revert to the old state. Bottom line, save your patch immediately after editing it and you should be good. If you want to be able to switch this off and on, let me know there are several ways to do it depending on what you need. You get a lot of options with the CONTROLLERS which is good but because of that it took awhile for me to wrap my head around it. Essentially you can assign anything to anything Hope this works.
  23. Are you using HD Edit on the computer or entering things on the HD itself?
  24. Well I'm glad I was wrong in regard to the EOL. So, in the interest of full disclosure, the HD500X HDPro X are NOT EOL. I guess I need to read a bit more carefully. I think I'll edit my last post just to avoid confusion. By the way, in regard to the X upgrade happening because of user complaints or because it was all part of a grand Line 6 conspiracy. It was NONE of those. The chip they were using was discontinued; the chip they had to replace it with had more DSP. Instead of a bunch of new HD500 users saying "hey, I can add more stuff than you" and the firestorm that we know that would create they changed the model number to reflect the new chip. They also decided to change the footswitches, why not since it's going to have a new name. AND all for the same price. Line 6 may have dropped the ball on several things in their history but this is definitely one time I think they did exactly the right thing. Except for not being more upfront about what happened which led to all this conjecture. AGAIN, not customer complaints, not a conspiracy, just fate. I've posted this in several threads and wish the word would get out. It would eliminate a few posts.
