  1. No you need 3000mA. 3 amps! (that's a lot by the way)
  2. And it is easlily damaged.
  3. And what are you calibrating? I'm assuming it's the expression pedal.

    HD pro edit

1-Can't 2-You can only do this by setting up another preset with those things in it and start your patch there. 3-Make sure your output is set correctly. Sounds like it's not set to STUDIO 4-Are you playing through a Line 6 DT amp? If you are, step 3 may not apply.
  5. Understood. I'm sorry if I sounded condescending. I judge no one. Especially given my past ;). Hope my posts help you get to where you want to be.
  6. I just notice you have a wah. You need to do one more thing. Make sure your WAH is off. Then in the CONTROLLERS section, go to the MODEL drop down menu, select CH VOL, then go to the FS ASSIGN drop down menu and select EXP TOE SWITCH. SAVE. Then, Just to make sure every thing is good, you need to first make sure EXP 1 is selected on your HD500, then go back to your FX section, turn your WAH on, go back to the CONTROLLERS section, go to the MODEL drop down menu and select Throaty and make sure the FS ASSIGN is set to EXP TOE SWITCH. SAVE. So what should happen as you engage the TOE SWITCH is it should switch back and forth between the wah and the ch vol. I'm not at my 500 so I haven't checked this but I'm pretty sure this will all get you where you want to be. I'll check it later.
  7. You don't have EXP-2 selected in the CONTROLLER drop down menu below the PARAMETER drop down menu. It only says OFF. Also don't forget to make the MIN 0% and the max 100% like I forgot to tell you to do. And you won't see anything in the FX area to indicate what happened. Go to the AMPS section and you'll see EXP-2 under CH VOL instead of a number and percent sign. See the pic's I've attached.
  8. I think I answered my own question. So from your HD500, first make sure EXP 2 is selected. Then, go to your HD Edit and select "CONTROLERS". Then select your amp from the "MODEL" drop down menu. Now, in the 'PARAMETER" drop down menu select CH VOL. Now, in the "CONTROLLER" drop down menu select EXP-2. Now, and this is critical, save it to you HD500 by going to SEND and pressing selected. I can't remember why exactly but as I recall I had issues with the patch losing my expression pedal edits if I didn't save (SEND) them immediately to the HD500. I think part of it was I would assign my expression pedal and then immediately try it which, again as I recall, would cause it to revert to the old state. Bottom line, save your patch immediately after editing it and you should be good. If you want to be able to switch this off and on, let me know there are several ways to do it depending on what you need. You get a lot of options with the CONTROLLERS which is good but because of that it took awhile for me to wrap my head around it. Essentially you can assign anything to anything Hope this works.
  9. Are you using HD Edit on the computer or entering things on the HD itself?
  10. Well I'm glad I was wrong in regard to the EOL. So, in the interest of full disclosure, the HD500X HDPro X are NOT EOL. I guess I need to read a bit more carefully. I think I'll edit my last post just to avoid confusion. By the way, in regard to the X upgrade happening because of user complaints or because it was all part of a grand Line 6 conspiracy. It was NONE of those. The chip they were using was discontinued; the chip they had to replace it with had more DSP. Instead of a bunch of new HD500 users saying "hey, I can add more stuff than you" and the firestorm that we know that would create they changed the model number to reflect the new chip. They also decided to change the footswitches, why not since it's going to have a new name. AND all for the same price. Line 6 may have dropped the ball on several things in their history but this is definitely one time I think they did exactly the right thing. Except for not being more upfront about what happened which led to all this conjecture. AGAIN, not customer complaints, not a conspiracy, just fate. I've posted this in several threads and wish the word would get out. It would eliminate a few posts.
  11. WRONG WONG....I'm sorry to hear the HD series is probably EOL....WRONG WRONG I HAVE FOUND OUT THIS IS NOT TRUE. I'M LEAVING IT IN BUT PLEASE DISEGARD. but am glad it was said. I've been a Line 6 boy since the XT/Vetta days. Have I had my dissapointments and has Line 6 dropped the ball at times? Yes. Have I gotten my money's worth? Absolutely. But the HD series, aside from sounding good, seems to be a step back. Each POD, from 2.0 to the X3, seemed to always add more options aside fom the modeling. And with firmware upgrades, often added even more. Just kept getting more computer recording and output options. Now with the EQ situation, no power switch, less ouput and computer recording options than before, etc. It's been a let down in some ways. I am not unhappy with my HD500 or the JTV69 I also own but I think I will sit back and wait awhile before I hop aboard Line 6's latest and greatest like I used to. I still have my XT bean, XT Live, Vetta, Variax 500, UX2 auidio inteface and X3 live which all have what I consider to still be very good modelling. At the very least, I can pettry much get whatever I need and want out of them, and be happy about it. I haven't used anything but Line 6 for everything since I got my first XT and guitar wise when I got my first Variax so I think I'm good for now. I have approx. (counting the pre HD models) 102 guitar amps, 39 guitar amp cabs, 29 bass amps, 23 bass amp cabs, six mic preamps, over 100 effects, over 50 guitars with the ability to create my own. Compared to what I had before I'm doing good. Will I get a sound exactly like "Insert name here" JCM800 or whatever else you want to conjure up. Sometimes, maybe. Can I get a sound that, from jazz to folk to folk rock to rock to rock & roll to metal to grunge, ad nauseum, is at worst tolerable and at best, inspiring. Yes I will and have. So again, for now, unless it's fairly mindblowing, I'm good and I'm done. (for now ;))
  12. I'm just curious if they are planning on modeling any more amps. I wish they would at least tell us if they are or if these are all the amps we'll be getting. Not that I expect anymore or feel they have an obligation to do so. But some of the most requested amps would be fun/nice. At least change the EQ percentage thing. I do expect at least one more update addressing that.
  13. There is no way other than to download and try them out. Watch out for amp levels and what the inputs are set at. Ya never know what they set them at for their system and you could get a blast of sound you were not expecting (yes, that's right, it happened to me ). Be careful!
  14. I'm not sure how I could have worded it so that a person looking for a quarrel wouldn't have taken it as sarcastic or whatever. Fine. Whatever. Moving on.
  15. To NucleusX. Well this thing won't let me quote but regarding your response to me a couple posts ago. I wasn't quarreling with you. It sounded like a good idea and I sincerely wanted to know who else has it. Since you brought it up, it led me to believe you knew of other units that had them. Is everything a quarrel with you?. I was merely inquiring, wondering, asking; not testing, debating arguing, quarreling, or anything confrontational AT ALL. C'mon man lighten up. You seem to be wound a little tight. And your little jabs like, "I find it amusing.....". What a pretentious, arrogant thing to say. I gave you chuckle? Was it more like an evil cackle? And, it was over an innocent question, not an attack. You bring up some interesting points, but you seem to always want to make it a fight. I'm guessing you'll have some clever quip in response to this to put me in my place and perhaps I've given you another cackle, but this I know, my question was not confrontational and was not worded in any klind of confrontational way. So only someone looking for a quarrel would take it that way.
  16. What units do that and how much do they cost?
  17. Well at the very least it seems most of your questions. comments, theories & thoughts have been answered and addressed. Essentially the HD series is not going to change to what you want it to. I prefer the higher definition amps as opposed to lowering the definition to add more stuff. My X3 live had more of the options I like so I can always go back to that but I personally think the HD series sounds better. And that's more important to me. You have some interesting and desirable points and have every right to express them. But it seems like a dead horse is being beaten.
  18. You cannot select the JTV models from Line 6 edit. You can however select them from the amp itself the same way you could with the old Variax. Then save your patch using the amp's save button.

    Still Here,

The Armin mod is still available. Just type it into google.
  20. I don't know if this is what's wrong but, try this. It can't hurt and it is a possibility. Since in putting in the battery (I just did so myself) quite a few connectors had to be disconnected, maybe one of them wasn't properly connected i.e. seated when they were re connected. Go back into the amp and reseat all of the connectors that you can. This requires little to no electrical experience. If you're having a hard time with one connector then leave it. It is probably properly seated. And turn it on before you put it back into it's Vetta shell. See if it works. If not, go over the connections one more time. If it still doesn't work, then you're back to where you started. If you don't know what seated means, basically, it just means making sure the connector is "pushed" all the way in and all the holes lineup, so to speak. It is often done by disconnecting and reconnecting them.
  21. So you don't believe the chip they were using wasn't available anymore and that's why they used a chip with more power? The fact that it was such a minor upgrade leads me to believe this. Why go through all that hassle it entailed to do this for such a small increase in power. That, and that the story I told, came from someone who would know. It's been so long I can't remember who I heard it from but I do remember it being a very reliable source. It's in a thread somewhere.
  22. I'm not sure if anyone posted this here but the HD500X was not a purposeful upgrade. The chip the 500 used was discontinued. The chip they had to replace it with had more DSP. Instead of a bunch of new 500 owners saying "hey I have more DSP than you guys say you have" and the inferno of controversy that would create, they gave the 500's with the new chip a new designation. HD 500X. They also decided to upgrade the switches while they were at it. No bait and switch, no screw the consumer plot. Just a more powerful chip that they had no choice but to use. I think it was good that they did that but I think they should have been more upfront about why what happened, happened. Just to avoid confusion and threads like this.
