If someone else send me his DI tracks, I wouldn't be able to re-amp them too?
-
Sorry if this was answered before... I just got the Scarlett 2i2 and I am a complete noob. My setup is: Guitar-->Pod-->Interface-->Daw I mostly want to learn how to record dry and wet guitars at the same time, and then how to re-amp the dry guitars, so I can listen to my tone and then tweak the patch for best results.
-
I disagree. I always use a tube comp at my rhythm patches as I have found it gives me a huge punch at my palm mutes.
-
As I have understood the whole dual cab thing, you can use the Vintage pre EQ phase thingy when you use 2 different amps (that most of the times are completely out of phase with each other), to make them sound better. Now, I don't think you can correct the sample differences between a cab/mic combo in a dual amp/cab setup, but it doesn't hurt if you try. You never know. Hope this helps.

What does "PITA" mean? And how do you use the SPDIF with your soundcard, pod and monitors? I didn't understand the connection you have done...
-
Very nice! Thanks for sharing it! I have one question though: How was the EQ section and the Cab DEP parameters set up on the Pod HD? And which parameters did you tweak in the power amp of your ENGL Powerball and how did you set them?
-
They are just designed this way. Like some new amps from the Metal Pack (5150 etc) are very loud. You just need to do some adjustments. If I were you, I would just set the Input 1 on guitar and the Input 2 on same, so you can get a hotter signal when you are using these low output amps. Then I would increase the channel volume and last the master as it affects some other parameters too along with the volume (gain, bias, etc) Try these and tell us if it worked.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH THATS THE REASON WHY MY COMPUTER'S INTERNAL SOUND CARD STOPS WORKING AND CRUSHES WHEN I TURN OFF THE POD WITHOUT EXIT THE REAPER. F@CK. IS THAT REALLY THE REASON??
-
Hey guys, I don't know if this subject has been discussed before, but I just wanted to know how many of you have tried recording both with the Pod and with an external sound card. Is there any big difference in the audio quality? Does it worth the money if I invest 170 euros for a decent sound card such as the scarlett 2i4? Thanks in advance.

Welcome and thanks for your participation! That's a really interesting tone and song! I don't think I have ever listened to anything similar!
-
This is so true and sad at the same time...
-
Wow, didn't expect that! Thanks for the kind words man!
-
I liked the idea also! I thought it would be great sharing our best tones no matter the kind of music! But I guess people didn't like it. I wish this thread had more participation... Anyways, there's nothing to feel hesitant about. Everyone can appreciate a good tone, despite the kind of music! And both of the samples you gave us are absolutely fantastic! Great production, songwriting and playing! Good job!

oh. that makes sense!
-
I don't really know how to build patches for basses, but why would you apply a high pass filter in the One Path and a low pass filter in the Other Path? From my point of view, as a guitarist, it doesn't make any sense. I would just apply my low/high pass filters at the end of the chain or with the Global EQ.
-
Well, in my opinion it is definitely the hardest, indeed. This kind of music is really unique and "demanding".
-
Your second tone is definitely better than the first! You are improving!
-
Hey, let your ears be the judge! Don't avoid using them because these guys said that they are meant to be used in some specific ways! (Please no hate. I don't mean to be hostile. I just want to have a healthy argument) Yes the Pre versions were meant to be used with DT's and with the Power section of a Real Amp, but that's not the only way that someone should use them! I have found some really good results with many Pre versions and I use them every day on my patches! So go and try the Pre versions too!
-
Nice tone and playing there man!
-
Yes I am, I have seen you too! :P I used 2 fireballs for this with XXL and Tread cab. Other than that it was the typical chain, od-comp-gate. The trick is that I spent crazy amounts of time with the EQ's so I can get my tone closer to his.
-
Lets make a thread posting the best tone that each of us has ever succeed with the Pod HD, despite the kind of music! I will start! This is my best tone: http://soundcloud.com/giwrgos-andrhs/periphery-the-bad-hing-guitar-cover

Be careful with the Graphic EQ man. It has a wide Q and it is not adjustable. By boosting or cutting frequencies you will affect a wide area around the centered frequency. I believe you know that :P
-
Haha, I'm glad I helped man! By the way, I know the high end trouble of the Big Bottom. Maybe try to cut off the ugly frequencies with a parametric?

It's strange, because I too have a 7string tuned in Drop G# and Tube comp really gives my that punch in the pick attack I want in the low strings. I place it right before my OD with threshold:40% and level 0% How do you set the red comp?
