  1. Can helix get this type of tone?? unique amp tone
  2. Thanx for that info. I expect the same is here on these forums and thegearpage forum and others with regard to line 6/fractal/boss ect giving some of the posters free gear ir somehow being affiliated with the company whether diectly working for them or indirectly as beta testers or given free gear. That would make a huge difference as even if they werent thrilled with the item they would likely say so just to stay in that loop and get free gear and perks. Its sad but its true. Not only in guitar gear but across the board. So i understand this last posters points and they make sence. Also know this post will get the "known "" posters here to deny and likely not admit if its true or if they work for line 6 in any capacity or are affiliated in any way. Some are upfront about that and to them thanx for being upfront. Now this is across companies and not just line 6 I speak of. I am sure boss and fractal and fender and others have their "plants" and hidden agenda posters too. Hec its even on youtube in many diff topics there are shills and fakes and cointel posters skewing everything. I think by the manner of replies by these people you can tell over time . Anyhow thanx for that last post. I remember when b.c. rich was hot stuff back in those days- I had a mockingbird but it was just too heavy for me but a decent guitar.
  3. yes simple music and catchy and simple tone
  4. Piano guy thanx.....this is a very simple rig...cool. Of course noone does the whammy wah like dt in mpdeling units so i can see how he needs that seperate.
  5. thanx phill i missed that one. I wish the helix effects were good enough to lose the big sky/big theory though. And why not just the hx effects if he isnt using the models of amps?? What i was looking for is a player on these rig setups that just has the helix FOR EVERYTHING. That would be interesting to see is all i am saying. Right into the FOH.
  6. many of these bands dont have that from what i see on premierguitar rig rundown-many are smaller acts
  7. I get emails from premierguitar with rig rundowns all the time of some famous and many not so famous players and it seems they all use tube amps and pedal boards over and over. I have not seen even 1 that just has a helix there on the floor and thats it! why not/??
  8. thanx.i watched it and its a basic marshall tone i guess.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TecvgT8KBko one of the better live performances and i see no pedal boards onstage. Can a helix get these tones? post clips if you think so...I dont know either way but it would be great to just use a helix live and sound like this.
  10. Any update is a welcome update at this point!
  11. lol.."pretty much"? Never assume anything as you make an lollipop out of u. IT IS A TURNOFF TO LINE 6 FOR ME AND MAKES ME EVEN LESS INCLINED TO BUY A HELIX: TO SEE ALL THESE CHILDISH RESPONSES.
  12. that head looks sweet. I only wish the head and 2-12 combos were stereo- can you imagine!!! like the old vettas were.
  13. well i still have my sv mk2 2-12 combo and love it. I too was bummed when they abandoned the valve line because its killer to me.That tube section really sealed the deal with the modeling.I too was hoping for a helix brain in a real tube 2-12 stereo combo amp to show up but to line 6 its just not cost effective. Too bad. Also i bet they had a falling out with bogner.
  14. i think the sv mk2 2-12 i use sounded better then the katana 100 i had and still to this day is an excellent amp. The tube power section nails it.
  15. there are many musicians using the helix but not many huge acts. I am still waiting for premier guitar rig rundown to come across a guitar player rig review where the guy just has a helix and thats it.!!!! that would be fun to see but havent seen it yet.
  16. the dt amps were awesome with the hd500x and i was bummed line 6 didnt update the line to work with the helix. The powercab thing is cheap and while well intended does not have the tubelike power section needed in a modeler.
  17. what if we are using vista or xp? is the editor/librarian..firmware upgrade work with vista or xp?
  18. just a hunch. The helix is flagship...they may trickle down the hz model engine into less expensive models ..say hx600...and carry that into the spiderhz model amps? so do the whole pod thing over except this time use the hz engine???? i mean they have to release other gear for people who wont pay 1500.00 right? Keep that market....and once people hear the helix is NOT an hd in terms of quality and amp tones pretty steady like via vids and demos and reviews people will want the hz tone but in a less expensive less featured piece of gear right? maybe? then again who knows..they may just keep that wide gap between $500 and $1500 open to try to sell more helix.... hence the possibility of a new dt type amp that works specifically with the helix??
  19. new clip http://www.thomann.de/de/line6_helix_guitar_processor.htm look here..in german
  20. like i said i am sure it wil;l be awesome...Just that x% of doubt....i still have the spider valve mk2 i like alot. and had the hd300 and pods before...i like line 6 alot...but for me its the amps that will decide.
  21. thats good news...i too want it to be no pod hd in the aspect of the tones...in the flexability dept of course its not...and effec ts wise its more advanced...so i too hope the amps blow me away....
  22. did you see the new THR amps from yamaha? stole blackstars tube choice knob idea..and blackstars moto...dont emulate- create...that was blackstars saying...anyhow its not the thr many expected.
  23. agree...on the TGP thread i was suspended for posting relevant issues like this there. They are total fan boys who dont question anything. They just lay down their cash and drink the line6 koolaid. Not me...I have bought line 6 products for years and am hoping this helix will be great but its always the same lines in the vids..lots of effects..chewy this and that..and look at all the options..blah blah blah...WE GET THAT...Now its time to sample the core of the unit..the stuff that line 6 is raving about...its not magic its years of tech and hard work to develope the next greatest hz modeling from line 6...its about the amps and cabs....we know there is plenty of options..flexability and effects....but what we want to hear is how the amp models stack up? no?..Its really simple to do.Just go through the amps clean, crunchy and dirty without effects and switch up a few diff cabs. forget the tubescreamer..the chewey vibes...the delays and reverbs....just show off your excellent new amp models...is that really that hard to do? What are you guys hiding?
