I've too noticed that pop with the presets that came with the unit. It's most likely the compressor. I've since made my own presets and almost never use the compressor so I haven't noticed it on my own presets. Did you try to disable the compressor on the loud pop patches in question?

Yes, I have the same problem. God knows if someone who's related to the line 6 bug-fixing team ever gets some of these errors noted here on this forum.

Hi! This is a bug and a bit nasty one, but I have no clue as where to report such bugs - would this forum be the correct place? If I have an amp enabled with quite the amount of gain, and I then enable the compressor it creates an ugly spike in the volume for a short moment. This when I let the guitar ring while enabling the compressor. If I than disable and enable the compressor again there's no such volume spike. This should be reported back to line6 somehow. Can others here verify it? I've already had other users on facebook acknowledge this spike.

I wasn't able to reproduce the tone ringing from when the tuner was enabled. I have my firehawk in 4cable method, and I was not able to reproduce. However I experienced something similar. If I rang a tone from the guitar and let it ring and enabled the tuner, then muted the guitar, and then disabled the tuner it would replay maybe 0.4 or 0.5 seconds of my tone even though the guitar was muted.

I figured it out. It's the menu that's used if a firmware update fails. The Firehawk then goes into 'emergency' mode, so to speak, and you're able to retry the firmware when in 'A+C'-mode.

Wow, I just found out this secret menu. I don't have a clue what it's for.. I think I accidentally changed some values, but I haven't connected it to my amp yet, as I've just upgraded to 1.30.

Yes, I'm really looking for something like the snapshot feature to help with the patch latency. It's not extremely bad, but there are certain times when I need to be able to switch patches and the latency makes a noticeable gap in the sound......

I too have a latency issue. It's not "extremely" long, but it's definately noticable. My old Boss GT-8 switches practically instantly, but the firehawk is slow in comparison. I dread switching patches in the middle of a song :-( Damn it's frustrating... otherwise I love this unit... I just can't believe they can't fix this latency issue...

I haven't tried out the '-10 db' setting on my FX SEND/RETURN on the amp, it's at 0 dB. But the sound isn't all to bad at the moment, kinda satisfied. Here's how I've done it..... I have it before the Amp/Cab, however the "Amp/Cab" is essentually disabled as I have switched off amp and cab emulation. My chain is like this: Variax (disabled) -> Gate -> Wah -> Stomp -> FX Loop -> Amp/Cab -> Comp -> Eq -> Vol -> Synth -> Delay -> Reverb ->Looper (switched off) FX LOOP Settings: - Send = 4.5 db - Return = 4.5 db - Mix = 100% Amp Cab Settings: - No amp - No cab - Volume 70% EQ Settings: - Lo Shelf Freq = 133 hz - Lo Shelf Gain = 0 dB - Lo Mid freq = 550 hz - Lo Mid Gain = -0.5 dB - Hi Mid Freq = 2,4 Khz - Hi Mid Gain = 0,0 dB - Hi Shel Freq = 8,0 kHz - Hi Shelf Gain = -1,0 dB The EQ is mainly to do a bit at the highest frequencies, the rest is tuned on the amp.

Yes. If the FX LOOP isn't enabled it doesn't care about wether you're on a clean channel or not on the amp.

I see.. I fiddled with the loop (send/return levels) and I think it got quite ok.. I added 4.5 db for both send and return and it start to sound like it should. I found out a couple of days ago that my amp has a -10 db on the send return which exists in order to combat signal loss... maybe i'll try it out one day..

Let me know when you figure this one out. I'm having my own issues with the signal loss part. Bugs the hell outta me, so I'm no longer using the firehawk in a 4cable method as I've given up on figuring this out....

Do you use one or two amps? I used to split the output using an A/B-box so that it would go to two amps, and that made a lot of hum. Two different amps they were. I've not tried to do that with my firehawk so I don't know if that is the case.

Hi, who here runs the firehawk in a 4 cable method? I have tried to compare the sound from my amp when I go through the firehawk, and when not, and I'm quite convinced that the distortion in the sound on my amp is slightly reduced when I have the firehawk connected. When I chug on my guitar, either in a power chord or on a simple palm muted string, I feel that the distortion and "chug"-iness is a bit reduced when I've connected in the 4cm as to when I've got the guitar only connected to the amp. I love the distortion on my amp, but when I connect the firehawk, ... not so much.. and it's been eating at me for a long time. I've looked at the fx loop settings and the volume settings are at neutral , or 0. Any one experience this?

Here are two videos that (hopefully) shows how much faster/cleaner the patch change is on the Boss GT-8 compared to the Line 6 Firehawk. The Boss GT-8 has practically no disruption in the sound, but the Firehawk cuts the sound for a short while. I often have two patches that are practically the same, one has multiple effects enabled and the other doesn't. Switching patches enables me to switch on/off multiple effects fast and 'seamlessly' with the GT-8, but with the firehawk that just isn't gonna flow as nice as with the GT-8, instead there'll be a gap in the sound. Nice video! How about a small video regarding how you do your recording on the PC? I'm aware of the information about the recording in the first video, but the recording bit was a bit brief.

Hi! The latency when switching presets in the Firehawk is still something that buggers the hell outta me... I've got the latest 1.20 version, but compared to my old Boss GT-8 (from 2005), the Firehawk is much slower. Here are the two videos. I even made the Firehawk patches copies of the first hoping that this would make it switch faster, to no avail. The Boss GT-8 has different settings and effects on each preset as it has almost no latency while switching presets anyway. And no comments regarding the sound, they are placed 4 feet apart and this affects the recorded camera sound. Firehawk: Boss GT-8: Any comments on the Latency, Line 6 people?

I haven't tried it, but it should be 'easy'. As far as I can tell, in the app, you go to the effect block and then assign it to a footswitch, then choose the next effect block and assign to the other footswitch, and then keep going. Doesn't this work?
