  1. I have never used ASIO4ALL on Windows until I started to use Helix LT as audio interface. ASIO4ALL is not even compatible with Pro Tools which I use often (but this is due to awkward ASIO implementation in PT). Albeit you have a choice: On Windows - either use supplied ASIO driver with 15ms RTL or ASIO4ALL with 5ms. On OSX - either use multi sampling rate OSX Core driver with 15ms RTL or 48kHz "Class Compliant" with 7ms. It is woth the new fresh thread to adress.

    Native plugin latency (16 samples in Pro Tools) is lost in driver buffer so it does not add any latency. Modern audio interfaces are capable of going down to 3-7ms Round Trip Latency range. Even Helix hardware induces 1,8ms latency from analog in to analog out.
  3. To have low latency make sure you don't use any downloaded drivers. Only Class Complaint for OSX and ASIO4ALL for Windows. But you will get some latency anyway. To align latency there is a feature built to your DAW known as "latency compensation". It not switched on your reamp tracks will be off by full Round Trip Latency value.

    110 ohm XLR?

    I have never had any issues using regular XLR cables for AES/EBU or regular RCA for SPDIF on distances up to 10m. I also did some tests to make sure there is no jitter induced.
  6. Not frustrating at all. Whenever I press FS1 or FS9 I can always come back where I was by pressing "Mode". They seem to me "wasted" cause I hardly use presets. I have great plans for them ;)

    Try to choke bass reflex vent. I now it is not elegant but bass reflex delivers kind of "four to the floor" type of bass not present in guitar closed speakers.
  8. Maybe he did't use the proper word for this situation ? Cool down. If sweetwater reviews are honest and you feel like no way to live with mud, maybe return your Headrush? What can be done with it using Helix? Use EQ in DSP chain, global EQ, reverse EQ for FOH... Sometimes lifting it up works, you can also choke its bass reflex vent.

  11. Elswhere, anyway, whatever. Play some music through it, put your ear to the tweeter, check if it works. They sometimess fail. Headrush FRFR112/AltoTS312 are bass heavy but far from "mud".
  12. He did it! For those interested but not not so much. It is 1,8ms from analog input to analog output. Somebody have measured Kemper too - 3,5ms (4,9ms in constant latency mode).

  14. Fighting with controlling Native with hope I can take that setup on stage was stupid :D Further - if you think of any connectivity like tube amp, fx loop - small cheap interfaces are useless. USB powered - forget about it! And for years we have been taught that DSP power is that "real profesional computing power". Hx Native was the first piece of software to abadon that myth. I am so glad that Line6 did not go the road of treating SHARCs as anti-piracy dongle for their software.
  15. If not Native I would not buy my LT. I don't regret any polish zloty I have spent. Possiblities what joinning native power and reliable hardware give are wonderful!
  16. No and Yes. It can somewhat help. You can put as many Hx Native instances in between Hx Stomp/LT/Floor/Rack DSP paths as your CPU can handle. Hardware seems to have much less DSP power comparing to CPU but has ultra low latency, great analog audio quality and CONTROL (Floor, LT). Going thru the computer adds 3-7ms of latency (with the right driver used). Hovever connecting Hx Stomp/LT/Floor/Rack just to have more Helix DSP blocks (by adding instances) makes no sense for me. There are so many great plugins which give you completly new possibilities.
  17. Cab (reverb) IR are not good enough nor proper technology to get "amp coloring". You get only its EQ an phase shifts. If modeling a whole amp successfuly happens, so modelling preamp and power amp can also happen.
  18. I think of "Legacy" as euphemism "Obsolete" or "Waste Bin". You can find something useful there but still it should be the place when old plugins should be placed and finally trown away. I hope I will see threre some current plugins from Mono and Stereo folders when better versions are ready. ;) My concern is that I observe if plugin within the plugin or software is done once it rearly is revised. If revised, some customers starts to complain "Oh, I liked the crappy one better" :D
  19. What is the Hx Stomp power usage? Are there any specs published for Hx Stomp except weight and dimmensions?
  20. I am talking about those little bt sticks made by chinese kids :D How latency is related to playing along with spotify? If you play along with Metalica Black Album, so latency is 27 years! :D
  21. Oh gosh! Get the bluetooth audio receiver, 3,5mm to 2TS 1/4" piece of cable, connect it to 1/2 Returns, route to output and play along running free on your backyard! :D

    They are bottom heavy like TS212 and its bass needs to be rolled out somehow. You can use Global EQ for that (page 50 of the manual). Unfortunatelly Global EQ can not be assigned where it could be really helpfull :( There is a myth among guitarists that monitor should have 12" woofer because guitar speakers are 12". I think 8" woofer in monitor (call it FRFR if you want) is enough. Make sure the contour switch is not engaged.
  23. Nope. Specification of 1/4" (or XLR) output describes - type of connector, output impedance and level - in digital devices level can be described as dBu at full scale. Type of balancing is also important - when true balanced differential signal is cold-to-ground shorted you loose 6dB, if impedance balanced you loose only its CMRR. If you can change "level", specification should inform you what is that new level and what is the new impedance. As far as I know there are no IEEE or ISO stricts standards for full scale level and impedance. This is why specification publishing is important for professional use. No guessing, experimentation and measuring is required to get things work together.
  24. I am using the latest Hx LT 2.10 Owner's Manual. On page 7 item 21. "1/4” OUT Use unbalanced 1/4" TS cables to connect to your guitar amp, FRFR speaker(s), studio monitors, or other playback system. When using a single amp or speaker, connect only the LEFT/MONO 1/4” jack." This is not specification. This is recommendation for cable usage. I personally have different opinion of impedance balanced lines usage based on my knowledge and experience. :D That recommendation does not actually contradicts specification skeleton published online but makes no sense to me. :D
