they ALWAYS have something.... even a blank preset is something... you can't actually delete them... you can just copy over something different.

Dl4 Issues
TheRealZap replied to mbguitars's topic in DL4 MkII / DL4 / MM4 / DM4 / FM4 / AM4 / ToneCore
this forum, is a user forum and does not reflect customer service at line6. if you want support from line6... get it here: http://line6.com/support/tickets/ -
your bundle/tones do not have your global settings.. perhaps there is a difference there?
-
Do what you can, then... but Line6 does not support ASIO4ALL, and if you insist on using it, you won't be getting any support from them.

Hurry Up, Already, Line 6!

Sounds like a well thought out, and sensible plan! :D -
He may have removed it himself, but his post was not moderated.

you THINK you've gotten low latency... a driver that does not adhere to the ASIO spec... is somehow delivering accurate latency measurements to a specification that it doesn't adhere to... yeah right. ASIO4ALL is a good workaround for audio cards whose manufacturers do not provide ASIO compliant drivers... ASIO4ALL also does not give you all the benefits of your hardware... i guess its good enough for you... not sure how that = great.... but just because the driver itself says its better (because it reports some made up latency number) does not make it so. it also does NOT work how line6 drivers are supposed to... there are specific hardware enhancements, as well as a strict adherence to the ASIO specification that ASIO4ALL does not provide. also the ability to use more than 1 audio driver/card is COMPLETELY outside of the ASIO specification... (i.e. impossible to be compliant) the ASIO specification calls for all inputs/outputs to be controlled by a singular hardware clock, which is how the accurate latency is reported.
-
you're primary issue is that you're trying to use ASIO4ALL.... you need to use the line6 drivers... then the line6 control panel will let you change inputs.

not really, it's one of those things, where you'd really need to learn about amp building etc to know all the real ins and outs... but the best way with the great user created editors... is to just try it, and let your ears be the guide... it's a really nice update! i rarely use the amp without the pod... but it's great to have those soldano channels etc right on the front when i do :)
-
it's ONLY a 2 channel amp... even with an apple product or a windows product... its impractical to change between 30 amps in a live setting... what you CAN do with the update... is change all 4 of the topologies in each channel (4x2=8 total amps) and store those amps in your 2 channels... the amp will still read the knobs on the front of the amp... and most likely sound like crap for 3 out of the 4 topologies. and you'd still only use the A/B channel via a footswitch... unless you're going to readjust the knobs every time you switch amps... (not practical live) TO BE CLEAR... it will still be a 2 channel amp after the upgrade. you just have more say over what those 2 channels can be. also... if you are using it with an HD500... then you really don't gain anything.
-
no honestly if you are using an hd500 and the line6link, theres nearly NO benefit at all to updating... the update primarily benefits using the amp by itself. you can already save changes to the amp config etc, via the hd500...

Variax Digital Cable - Ethernet?
TheRealZap replied to kevtcg's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
no problem at all using an ethernet cable for the updates... i think amazon still has the workbench interface. they sell it as the software, but the software comes with the interface... the software itself can be freely downloaded here. -
you need a seperate midi interface... such as the m-audio uno.... this is required to update.... and also required to make changes after the update... the hd500 will not do it.
-
no.. there is a windows version too... perhaps you should just leave it alone and go back to playing :D
-
uhm.... :D just saying... no big deal... but he was right.
-
I'd advise you to disregard this statement. ASIO4ALL is not a "great driver" it is a reverse engineered 3rd party open source attempt at faking compliance with the ASIO specifications. it's use is for products that do not have real genuine ASIO compliant drivers available... which is not the case here.

My Workbench Has Stopped Working
TheRealZap replied to guilhordas's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Happens to me sometimes... what i do to fix it is power cycle the pod and restart the pc (well usually a mac... but same thing) -
i'd suggest trying slimdrivers (google it) its free... there's more going on than just the audio driver... slimdrivers will help you get chipset, usb, and other motherboard related drivers. won't hurt to check... but there's not alot of upgraded drivers etc related to windows 8... since its pretty new and no one really wants it... I use it and it's a mess...

did you not follow all the links.... mac version here: http://www.cunningham-photo.com/DTCustomizer/mac.html
