  1. i'd call and ask: http://line6.com/company/contact/ or you can open a ticket if you're not in a hurry.
  2. Expectations: a sure way to be let down. wishlists and ideas are good... but i'm pretty happy to get whatever they throw my way... not like it's costing me any more money at this point... (although it would if they came out with some model packs!)
  3. It's highly unlikely that a reset will fix it. I imagine that the internals just need re-aligned to the switch actuators. I can't endorse opening it if you aren't comfortable with the risk... but I don't imagine that this is a highly skilled technician kind of job.... of course that's just my opinion.
  4. some people prefer the MKI, but its all personal taste... the MKI can certainly be a good deal depending on the price... but the MKII offers updates etc.. that you can't get on the MKI. if the price is the same i'd probably want the MKII
  5. you are correct, the hd line does not contain the same models as the x-series... even the models they share are drastically different. There would be no way way to transfer those 1:1 even if a workaround like the HD models existed.
  6. pod hd500x is made to be used with pod hd500x and related files... the fact that you can use hd500 files that you download is not officially supported. they do not support any of the pod hd models using tones from other models in the line... that's just the way it is... i don't necessarily agree with it... but at least you have a way forward, which is better than the alternative. silverheads drag and drop method does work, i've used that as well.
  7. quick search shows: Line 6 launches Spider Valve MkII guitar amps. Press Release September 25, 2009
  8. honestly sounds like you are going about it mostly the right way... you might just rename the file extension... (just hit f2 when the files selected and make the change) but there's no Line6 way to do that in a batch or anything...
  9. phone during standard business hours... much faster than being in the ticket queue... may require patience depending on how busy they are.
  10. the spider jam cannot use downloaded tones. You would need a spider IV or greater. (the spider jam is a spider III product)
  11. you can however... center pan the PA output and feed it into the instrument input, and use the mic this would give you 2 mono tracks with all the content.
  12. The 2.0 (HD) upgrade was announced last year at winter NAMM, and it applies to the current guitars, no new guitars were announced.
  13. factory default is a valid license for pod farm 1 platinum... that's the valid license it's seeing.
  14. makes sense... the x3 seems to fit your current needs better.
  15. nor is it likely to ever change... and the same is true for most manufacturers not just line 6.
  16. what do you mean on the fly... and what complaints... you can change tones with the 500 "on the fly" but it probably means something different to you or you wouldn't ask the question...
  17. the output should be acceptable, just make sure the polarity is correct on the tip... i didnt see any info on that/
  18. should work, I use a tascam us1800 and the pod hd desktop. I feed the hd tone into my tascam analog and spdif. i have the spdif set to dry, and enable 2 tracks. this way i can stick with the hd modeling if it suits me or use PF2 later if i prefer. the only potential conflict i would see would be midi if you are trying to realtime control PF2.. even that could be worked out though.
  19. have you tried here for loads of info: http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/ also he has some demo tones you can download to try...
  20. you just need to use monkey for the firmware upgrade... no reason for midi-ox
  21. using one of these is MUCH easier: http://line6.com/support/topic/124-user-created-dt-editors/ although midi-ox can be done... i've done it... was a pain... don't recall the procedure... just made and sent the midi code.
  22. perhaps they are counting the acoustic preamp, that doesn't appear as an amp model, although it's primarily used as one... and of course they count the SLO channels... they just didn't break it out like they did the others.. but they count the other channels from other amps as models... and in all honesty the channels are modeled separately...
  23. depends on what you paid... i'd ask for an exchange if they're the same price. or evaluate if the changes are worth it if the 500 was less...
