there will certainly be more updates coming... they've never released a new model and NOT released updates... the hd500x is a new model... and they've said that any hd500x updates will also apply to the other HD pods.

Jtv-69s Model Selector Knob Fell Off.
TheRealZap replied to dougworthen's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
you can probably call support and just get a knob mailed to you... as long as its registered to your account, i don't see why they would grief you over a 1$ part.- 6 replies

Pod Farm + Presonus Firestudio + Pro Tools 10
TheRealZap replied to megarandy's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
have you used the license manager and authorized your ux1? if you haven't then pod farm 2 will not work... only pod farm 1. -
Pod Farm 1 Not Compatible With Osx Mountain Lion
TheRealZap replied to Mm1066's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
wrong... you can't use expansion packs with the demo.... i'm not sure if logic x changes the underlying 32/64bit bridge for the plugins... are you sure that logic 9 is running in 32bit mode? (right click/get info) -

it should set automatically... in your case to stack. typically: stack=head/cab (closed back) combo=amp (open back) -
Pod Farm 1 Not Compatible With Osx Mountain Lion
TheRealZap replied to Mm1066's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
logic x requires 64 bit plugins... which means you will need to upgrade to 2.x which you do not "already have" (64 bit plugins are one of the features that you get in the upgrade) i know that pod farm 1 itself will work on mountain lion, you could try some other 32bit daws apparently there are some 3rd party bridges out there that might help... i got the info here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5173740?start=0&tstart=0 but to be clear... apple is the problem here... the plugin will work on your OS, just not with logic x -
some effects loop/returns won't work with nothing in the main 1/4 input.... have you tried this with a guitar cable also in the input?

FOH=front of house (PA, you assumed correctly)

i don't know what those guys do.... but not much point in micing it when using FRFR since you'd use studio mode that has the mic emulations... just send it straight to FOH... the tech 21 does have a direct out as well... although i'd probably just send the xlr FOH, and use the 1/4" to the tech21

you won't want the monitor on while recording though.... that and ASIO4ALL is the devil... seriously... its designed for use by products that dont have ASIO drivers... its NOT ASIO compliant... it just tricks programs into thinking it is... which is great if you don't have a genuine ASIO compliant driver available... but you do with the GX.
-
remove ASIO4ALL first... the line6 drivers are ASIO drivers. i have no idea how to help with reason.... but have you checked the windows sound playback tab to make sure the GX is selected. also go to the control panel and open the line6 audio midi applet, make sure that the right inputs are selected.
-
the DT amps are not full range amps... and the line6link is digital, whereas the cd/mp3 input remains analog... theres a couple of reasons why.
-
good video as usual!, like that last tone.

according to the recent unboxing video, the same power supply comes with the 500x

indeed... by making the hardware more current and getting more new users, this will mean more incentive for them to continue to make firmware upgrades that we can all enjoy.
-
then you have NO worries... they've publicly said that they will not have any special models or hd500x specific upgrades... anything the 500x gets the 500 will also get... the only difference is that the 500x may be able to run an extra effect here and there.
-
there was no marketing strategy at all for current hd500 owners... this was never a product designed to get current owners to buy.... please send me your no value hd500... because i know i can get 350-400$ for it all day long.... (which then makes an upgrade if you HAVE to have it only 100-150$)

Do I Need To Adio Interface?
TheRealZap replied to MinstrelSoheil's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
i use both myself... i switched the spdif to dry and use the line in to record it with amps and effects... this allows me to revisit tracks later without re-performing if i choose.- 3 replies

terrible at nothing.... by your own admission the hd500 and hd500x doesn't meet your needs... no analogy required... why are you still here? just to be a negative nancy....? you have expressed your opinion... but to present the expression of your opinion as some sort of fact... is simply wrong.
-
my point is if it doesn't meet your needs move on... your complaint has been heard... the 500x is not the next generation new model... its a slightly updated version of the same model... much like a regular tv... this years 200$ tv isn't much different than last years 200$ tv
-
So? it's still what it is... only slightly better for the same money.... if the product was "tired" it would have been "retired" and something new... it obviously sells well, because of the value for the price and the capabilities it DOES have...
-
no exactly the same editing... just hits the dsp wall slightly later... and it's more... for the same money.... its not intended as an upgrade for current users... although there will be some that want it.... (i mean who doesn't.... but want is not need) and by you're analogy... this is the equivalent of getting served pasta.... and being able to take a few more bites before you're full... same pasta.

you don't need another audio interface, but if you choose to use one, it looks like you have a fairly nice one.- 3 replies
