  1. I don't think that the spider IV has HD modeling.... you have to go to the DT amps for that.....
  2. old topics are not locked, they are simply only available for archival reasons as the forum software has changed. and of course i'm going to tell you to go to a service center with any hardware issues.... sorry but that's the best source of help for you.
  3. I don't think that you can have the m13 do the switching, because i don't believe that the midi output can be changed... but i'd happily be wrong if it helps you out :D
  4. buy a used one and resell it later, is probably the best rental path... probably only cost you a few bucks that way.
  5. your current pod farm standard that came with the UX1 was NOT hardware independent. buying platinum will give you all the model packs AND hardware independence... you will be able to use the plugin and the standalone versions.
  6. you could always stick with the line6 cables exclusively... i just use a standard DMX cable for the L6link and the original variax line6 cable for that.
  7. i'd call a service center for parts specific queries, but i don't think that your failures are common or typical... at least i don't see these specific things posted, often if ever.
  8. what are you trying to update? you can get most files outside of monkey...
  9. in my experience the price to get things fixed is usually a large part of the cost of newer and better.... having said that... certain things (as in vintage gear) are worth fixing rather than replacing.... i'd say that the suggestion of looking at an upgrade is going to be real appealing.
  10. as pointed out... the license belongs to the device... unless you paid for it independent of the device.... so your expectations are a bit off.
  11. planning on using pod farm live is not really recommended... by me in my opinion... others may disagree... but i think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
  12. you can always try line6 edit, it may suit your requirements better.
  13. are you using a factory tone? or one you created? if you downloaded and tweaked someone else's tone i've seen that cause issues sometimes. tends to happen if the tones were from earlier firmwares etc.
  14. depends on what spider you have... most likely your spider has the models from the pod 2.0 generation and will not have an exact XT model correlation.
  15. sounds interesting, do you have any youtube links or comparisons?
  16. possibly try adjusting the "input z" on your pod (assumed you had one since you use VDI)
  17. you can do this for sure, I don't have a tone or secret formula for you however.
  18. yes if setup properly the X3 will play it all, were you able to get this sorted out? one overlooked setting is that you have to have the output mode on the x3 set to match studio direct.
  19. what are you using to playback the sound? I had a PA system that did this, some sort of priority channel/feedback control thing built in.
  20. never tried it, but i think some version of what you want might be possible... perhaps more than 4 cables though.
  21. did you engage support? because your experience is not typical.
  22. request here: http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html they can help you with this.
  23. not possible... its a more common request to make it smaller, because people want to use it with netbooks. in any case, those complaints have been around for a decade... not likely to change.
