  1. i was specifically referring to simply dialing in the alt tune on the knob, or the virtual capo. but i do know that you can tweak the strings on the 12, because the B and E string comes slightly off on purpose to add a more real feel to it... i remember nick mattocks saying that he tweaked that out, because he found it annoying... but we're talking a few cents or something not complete alt tuning for each individual 12 strings.... having said all that, nick is no longer around, and i've not done it personally so i can't add much beyond that i know it can be done (to the degree mentioned at a min) i'm reasonably confident this can't be done at this point.... but there has been a new version in the works for over 6 months...as was previously announced.... i'd highly suggest adding your request while they are actively working on it.... http://line6.ideascale.com/
  2. thats only true on the original variax, you can alt tune/capo the 12's on the JTV's
  3. this is not about a pod HD pro which is what you are alluding to.... its about an older pod pro (no hd)
  4. when you dial in the volume level you want save it. make sure you leave the master alone, and only adjust the channel\drive etc then when you use the master later the volume levels will rise and fall relative to your settings.... which of course should be set and saved at the volume you intend to use.
  5. actually, i just always liked the JC-120 model, in the XT/X3 and there is not one in the HD so it was due to the pod's that i wanted one. not really into jazz etc... just like that brush in my sonic palate. the SLO Clean model did go a bit towards adding that flavor in though...
  6. kind of worked that way for me... had the pod HD and because of that i bought a Roland JC-120 of course... i don't think that's what you meant :D
  7. you're in the wrong place if you want to hear directly from line6: http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  8. it permanent to your account, its always available... no real backup... since its not a real software... just a capability to unlock existing features.
  9. no great benefit to keeping the battery out, other than just to make sure that it doesn't slowly get drained on its own.... also takes a little weight off the guitar.... minor really,....
  10. correct, the variax cable powers the guitar and does not drain the battery. in fact i usually take the battery out.
  11. the issue is most likely the cable that you're using then.... try a digital XLR cable.
  12. 1. no not generated on kb37 just has an internal out path that reduces latency. 2. no... nothing internal, you'd need plugins etc in your daw or external. p.s. yes you get the basic line6 software easily by downloading... you DO NOT get the 3rd party software that comes with new ones... meaning ableton/reason.
  13. a further note to #2 make sure that both are up to date... not sure if "variax mags" exists on some older firmwares.
  14. the trick to the m-audio UNO is to get the drivers from m-audio... most other devices use generic drivers that aren't always as good.
  15. Used the m-audio uno, on win7, win8, (both 32 and 64) as well as OSX successfully. it's a great little interface.
  16. nice of you to share... but using a virtual machine, is hardly real use in the linux environment... to anyone reading this, i'd suggest saving the headaches and just installing a supported OS.... but i do realize that some people insist on using whatever, so your suggestion is a workaround of sorts.
  17. you could probably come up with something by using the headphone out into your amp... you'd have to try it to see how that would work out... but might be a quick and dirty easy cheesy noodling solution.
  18. this is actually wrong.... the "voicings" on the amp are just preconfigured amp models... and you can change them... but keep in mind no matter what you do... its still a 2 channel amp. you have to use midi to change those 2 channels and the associated 4 voicings per if you wanted to. if you have a midi interface, i'd suggest trying one of these tools: http://line6.com/support/topic/124-user-created-dt-editors/
  19. thats a tough one dude! i tell you the root of the issue is that we're all our own worst critics.... what i tend to do is just sort of let it go.... meaning just wrote the words as they come whether they make sense or not.... even if they are miserable rhymes etc whether i like them or not.... this opens up the channels and gets the ideas out there... the trick is reviewing and editing after the fact... you can do wonders with saying things a different way, or change the entire meaning with a word... it can also help with the arrangement when doing things this way... as you might switch things around to put some context to your babblings... i feel like i'm always at a block, because it never seems good enough... which is back to the root... i've seriously got pieces from 15-20 years on kicking around in my head, that will resolve themselves one day... one way or the other
  20. i would recommend not doing it! haha... as i find tracks played through a guitar amp to sound like crap. but if you wanted to do it, i'd disconnect the L6 link and use 1/4" input. i don't think the 4cm would be necessary... you could probably rig up something with a mixer and the fx loop if you want to keep the L6Link in play. when i'm doing this, i just plug the mp3 into the PA and keep them seperated.... of course not everyone has this option in every situation... but i think this would be more ideal.
  21. and will probably never be... much like the old post, that user didn't exactly understand the products. but there has also been changes made over time as well...meaning you can't take 2 years worth of updates.... and assume that the problems, real or perceived would still be the exact same problem... just because he used similar wording to express his desire. you basically want an amp selected on the pod to sound the same as the DT amp without the pod... it can be done... i can not tell you what you are missing... but one of the most common mistakes is trying to use no cab.,... the DT standalone DOES use cab models... just because you can't see them and select them, doesn't mean they aren't there.
  22. it's not really the levels that matter... its the perception of those levels.... leveling by a meter of any sort, does not put it in the context you'll be playing... be it rehearsal, practice, gig, etc.
  23. studio direct is a finished sound with mic and air emulation... pretty much what you would feed to the front of house.... stack/combo are meant to be put into an amp and then mic'd they are just different things.... but use whichever one you like....
  24. YES these pods/amps except no pod 2.0. you can use a specific usb to ethernet interface called a workbench adapter: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Workbench i personally would put the money towards a pod though....
